Luxurious ranch lodge awaits you and your friends!

Perfect for a family get together, girls or guy retreat, or even a Romantic Weekend. The Ranch is also great for holding an special event, Wedding, a corporate retreat or corporate training program.

Located on 165 acres of Texas Hill Country remoteness and sliced through by the James River, the Bar None River Ranch appeals to the outdoor enthusiast who desires privacy. The ranch is located in southern Mason County in the Hill Country, outside of the historic small towns of Mason and Fredericksburg. The James River runs through the middle of the property.

In the spring, wildflowers abound. In the summer you can cool down in one of the largest springs in the hill country. In the fall just enjoy the crystal clear star filled skies. In the winter the outdoor fireplace will keep you toasty warm. We are only a few hundred yards away from the Eckert Bat Cave one of the true wonders of the Texas Hill Country.

Watch the sunset from the 360 degree wrap around porch or one of the private picnic tables overlooking the river.

There is a nice pavillion that is great to hold an outdoor classroom.

There is a full skeet range with a high and low houses equipped to throw clay targets. Plus a full rifle range out to 700 yards. We have just added a pistol range. We also offer a deluxe weekend for up to 8 people all inclusive to get your Concealed Handgun License Class.

The James River has several small pools were bass and perch can be caught and released.

Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country the place is just across the James River from the Nature Conservacy's Eckert Bat Cave. The gate is a waist high rock with a cattle gate painted like a Texas Flag. The gate is locate about 100 feet past the rock corral going away from the river on the south side away from Mason. The property is about 50 minutes outside of Fredricksberg and 20 minutes outside of Mason.

We live in the Hill Country on Lake Travis and love going out to our ranch. We hope your family will enjoy it as much.

Why Tim Osburn chose Mason

This property has been in the family for 35 years. The lodge was built for family reunions and family enjoyment in 2003. It is very nice for quite weekends, family/friends get together, corporate retreats, when you want to do your own thing and not be bothered by outsiders.

What makes this lodge unique

A spring flowing at over 300 gallons a minute has cut a chute through the limestone for some 100 yards and makes the perfect place to cool down in the summer even on the hottest of days. Picnic benches over look the James River the perfect place to watch the sunset and Texas stars like no other place. Full Skeet Range

In the summer time it is a one minute drive to the Eckert Bat Cave to watch the nightly emergence.

Just a two minute drive puts you in Salt Branch were 'Old Yeller' fought the herd of hogs in Fred Gipsons 'Old yeller'

There is virtually no light pollution and the stars are spectacular on a clear night down at the river.

The property was a little further out than we expected, but as soon as we arrived at the house and looked up at the stars, we knew the trip was worth a somewhat tricky drive. Fantastic weekend.

Wonderful Stay at the Bar None Ranch

We had a wonderful mini-vacation at the Bar None Ranch! We had 7 of us there and could have fit many more with no problem. There are so many activities available - skeet shooting, hiking, exploring, finding a cold spring at it's source, swimming in the river, seeing 5 million bats at the nearby Eckert Bat Cave, and even just relaxing on the huge porch in one of the rocking chairs. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked all of our meals there easily. The location is gorgeous - rolling hills, lots of prickly pear cactus, the James River, all with an endless expanse of the huge Texas sky. We did get a rainstorm one night that we were there but it was so neat to watch the storm from the huge porch. Tim was awesome to work with - quick to answer any questions, pleasant and very helpful. We would absolutely stay here again and can't wait to come back! In fact, all 3 of our children were in tears when we left and have been in tears off and on since, begging to return! Thanks again, Tim!

Family Fun Weekend

We hosted a family fun event at the Bar None Ranch in late March. Not only was the scenery incredible, the house was so comfortable and well appointed. My only regret was the short duration of our stay. We all kept very bust shooting skeet, fishing in the river, and visiting on the porch. Tim was incerdibly helpful and friendly. We cannot wait to go back next year!

Great Family Getaway!

My family all stayed at the Bar None Ranch over a long Easter weekend, and even with 16 of us the house was very adequate. The house was very clean and had all we needed, we just added food! Beautiful house and property, the wildflowers were amazing. If you are looking for a secluded getaway this is it! We swam in the river, hiked in the hills, shot skeet, and enjoyed some beautiful sunsets and sunrises. The owner was very accomodating and welcoming and made sure everything was to our liking. Thank you Tim and family for opening up your house to our family. We are already planning our next stay!

Great Family Getaway!

My family and my brothers families celebrated our parent's 50th Anniversary with a family getaway. There were 16 of us total and the house was very adequate. We swam in the river, went fishing, hiking, and skeet shooting. Beautiful house and property, the wildflowers were amazing. If you are looking for a secluded place to unwind and unplug this is it! Thanks to Tim and his family for opening their house up my family. We are already planning our next visit to the Bar None Ranch!

Peaceful fun!

We really enjoy the peace and quiet on the ranch. The fishing was excellent - our teenagers were so proud of the fish they caught and released. The lodging was very comfortable. The river crossings gave us pause, but once we were through the big river crossing, we had nothing but fun! Great family time!
