This eclectic, colorful dwelling is a fantastic blend of warmth and imagination. Beauty and comfort are found in the local art, rustic wooden tables, silk pillow covers, velvet and linen curtains, the fine leather couch and hand-hewn log king bed. Partly luxurious and well-appointed, partly rustic and surprising, Carmen's Suite creates space for serenity and inspiration.
Whatever you do during your stay, you will surely feel the graciousness and harmony when you come home to relax or work. You can cook on the outdoor grill, exercise in our clubroom, swim in the outdoor pool, or simply enjoy your own comfortable realm.
They say that Old Mesilla is the place where time stands still and it is true. Explore the historic neighborhoods, and walk along the Rio Grande irrigation canals and imagine what it was like at this crossroads a century and more ago.
Las Cruces was the half-way point for travelers on the westward trek from San Antonio to San Diego, as well as southward bound from Santa Fe to Chihuahua. Today it is a lo-rise university town, home to 90,000 warm-hearted souls and surrounded by big southwestern skies and vistas. Nearby museums and art galleries, unusual shops and restaurants are wonderful and welcoming.
The truly unusual and spectacular White Sands National Monument is less than an hour away, as are many other areas for explorations, picnics, hikes, views, sunrises, sunsets, and just relaxing. The Organ Mountains on the eastern edge of the city are always offering their grandeur to all, while reflecting color and light distinctively on our warm community.
We welcome you to come stay for a few nights, weeks or months and invite you to enjoy this unique, gracious abode whenever and for whatever reason you come to Las Cruces.
My favorite part of traveling is getting to know what is special about the new place and how life is lived there. There is a particular blend of old-world Mexican and the rural wild west here that intrigues and informs me. And it keeps calling me back. This un-retouched photo was taken at sunset on a full moon night deep in the dunes at White Sands National Monument.
Southwest New Mexico is a unique part of paradise. Las Cruces and Old Mesilla have a distinctive history in an uncommon environment. Here are desert and mountains, wide open vistas and sunny skies. The sunrise and sunset are equally beautiful and the air is clean and refreshing. I feel happy and at ease in this warm, friendly community. Mesilla Abodes is both convenient and quiet. Just on the border of Old Mesilla with Las Cruces, access is easy from I-10 and to all points in both towns. Also our beautifully landscaped complex has its own tranquil and appealing atmosphere.
