Unbelievable Luxury, Comfort and Value
My family of 4 (including 2 teenagers) stayed at this fantastic home for a week, and the only regret is that we didn't stay longer! Location: The house is fantastically situated on a sloped private drive that leads all the way down to a private black pebble beach perfect for swimming and snorkeling that accommodates several parked vehicles, and it was never so busy that we couldn't find a spot - you want to drive down the hill rather than walk, as the slope is quite steep, and it was so much easier to bring snorkeling gear and towels. The first day we visited the private beach a young sea turtle swam up to greet and welcome us! Having a 4 wheel drive helped driving through the neighborhood and up the driveway, we had a Jeep Liberty which was perfect. The house is located close to some of the best snorkeling spots on Big Island, my personal favorite was City of Refuge, only a few minutes away, and the drive into Kona for groceries at KTA was easy and approx 20 min. The South Kona Fruit Stand has awesome smoothies! The house: Huge kitchen, well stocked with unexpected and welcome additional groceries such as condiments, spices, 3 huge water jugs, so we didn't need to buy bottled water. All the appliances were top notch and in perfect working condition, really nice dishes, glassware. In the garage, 4+ sets of excellent snorkeling gear, beach chairs, the owners also provided beach towels and a picnic bag. Tina and Tim have thought of everything! The master bedroom is really generously sized, with a big deck to watch the sunset in luxurious comfort. My teenage daughter loved the 2nd bedroom on the 2nd floor with an ensuite bath, and the laundry room was well stocked and perfect. On the ground floor, a 3rd bedroom also has a water view, private and quiet, with a half bath, which ended up being used exclusively by my son. Great beds in all BRs. The TV/living area is spacious, with a desk for setting up a laptop or writing postcards, plenty of fun DVDs, plenty of comfy seating for napping/relaxing and thanks for sharing the book about snorkeling around Big Island - we relied on it's guidance for the week! Outside there is an outdoor shower, grill, lots of seating, in complete privacy. I loved the landscaping choices, with a row of pineapples growing at the end of the driveway, and the hedge of hibiscus along the front deck. I will come back, again and again! Listing photos and description accurate. Clean and well-maintained.
