We have had a lovely stay here, thank you Helena and Roberto.
Most things we needed were here, only things missing had to do with having an 18 month old baby.
Thanks for providing the wood for the fire place, we had lots of lovely evenings with the fire on in the cold evenings...

we have had a lovely week in Madeira, thank you..
Casa da Lena was a lovely and very comfortable house to stay in - most things were provided, including a very well equipped kitchen; only thing missing, beach towels and sun longers...
Lots of space in the gardens for a toddler to explore!!
Machico beach was great and the sea warm for padding.
Favourite Restaurant: A Nossa Aldeia

We had two lovely weeks in Madeira. we explored a great part of the Island and saw how beautiful it is...
Casa da Lena was a very good house to stay...not too far from Funchaland yet so quiet and peaceful. The garden with all the big trees was a very good place to relax after the trips we made...
Santo da Serra is a very nice little village, where we found everything we needed, such as fresh bread in the mornings, good coffees and Restaurants, and of course, the Sunday market..
And last but not least: THE HOUSE WAS GREAT!!
Lovely decorated and cozy and all we could think of, was there. Even a lunch on our day of arrival...
Thank you very much, Roberto and Helena, we shall never forget these two weeks at Casa da Lena.

AMAZING WEEK IN A FANTASTIC HOUSE !!!

Roberto+Helena...
We are very unhappy to be leaving just when it seems that a Cidra Festival is about to break in Santo da Serra-really wish we had booked those extra days we talked about.
The house is amazing and in a perfect location for exploring Madeira.
There is a great little Levada walk which took us about 2,30h which starts here and goes to an amzing secreat waterfall. Jose in the bakery and your friends at Cantinho da Aldeia were very hospitable and both do great food.Try the pork Espetada at Cantinho, fantastic!! and the secret Cider liquor he makes himself is very tasty(under the counter).
All in all we´ve had an amazing week in a fantastic house, all that´s left to say is:

Thank you so much for the beautiful fruit from your garden upon our arrival. What a wonderful stay we had at Casa da Lena...so cozy and the gardens are gorgeous...
We would recommend "A Nossa Aldeia" to eat; we ate there several times and the food was delicious. The bakers in the village sells superb bread and cakes. Bus trips down the mountain to Machico are thrilling!! Thank you .
One more recommendation, visit the street market on Sundays, it´s fantastic!!

What a lovely house!!Thank you Helena for such a nice welcome and what a kind gesture, serving us lunch on our arrival!!!
The house and gardens are beautiful, with plentiful amenities in the kitchen, etc.
The market on sundays is excellent, very busy and full of local produce. Try the chiken/pork barbecue!!
The local "cidra" is handmade in front of you and very nice-made localy only in Santo da Serra.
Thank you Helena, will definately be back..,Our taxi driver was great, thanks for that, he will receive a good tip.We had a coupleof nice fires on coller evenings. Didn´t want for anything except for a longer stay...
Bus service was easy and handy.
Oh, yes, sun loungers, please.

Suited our family grooup ideally...Like others, we very much enjoyed the Sunday marketand can also recommend the "A Nossa Aldeia" as a good Restaurant. The lack of laundry facilities was overcome by a friendly laundry in Machico, just by the beach, across the road, close to the Restaurant "O Pescador", which we also found good...

COMFORTABLE AND VERY ATTRACTIVE ...

We have had a lovely two weeks here, although the weather wasn´t quite good. The house has been comfortable and very attractive. The garden is delightful.We love the bath, loads of hot water and it fills up really quick.The kitchen is well equipped , we love the cooker arrangements .We got a bit carried away in the Sunday market in the village, so there are a few things in the kitchen...Thank you helena and Roberto for the excellent wine. Good house for families with kids

We had a great 2 week vacation in this charming house. Our kids loved playing in the huge garden which had plenty of great places for hide and seek. The house if very comfortable and cozy. The kitchen is great if you like to cook. Bring your sweater if you come in the winter - it can be cool in the morning - but the wood stove works very well.
