Haarlem House Rental Photos and Description
Romantic picturesque house with 1 Bedroom, 2 Sleeps , 1 Bathroom, Terrace

This beautiful one bedroom house is located in the historical heart of Haarlem. It has just been renovated on the inside and outside with a great love for old details and respect for old materials. The house is spread out over two floors with the living, kitchen area and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom and terrace upstairs. The house is located in a very quiet street where no cars are allowed. When you enter the house you walk into the living room with a wood stove. There is a semi-open kitchen with a back yard door. In the summer you can have your breakfast on the bench in the street, where the flowers blossom extravagantly. Downstairs you will also find a very luxurious bathroom with sanitary form Philippe Starck. Upstairs you enter a spacious romantic bedroom with a lovely old wooden floor. When you open the balcony door you will find a private terrace. This house is ideal for people who like to visit tourist spots like Amsterdam, the Keukenhof, Volendam/Marken.

A Wonderful Place to Experience a Beautiful City

This beautiful and well-maintained vacation rental proved a perfect spot to enjoy life in Haarlem to the fullest. There were no surprises as the spotlessly clean property was just as described in the listing. A perfect location in the old town center on a picturesque pedestrian only street. Although the location was quiet and peaceful, it was just a short walk (or shorter bike ride) from shopping, a plethora of restaurants and the bus stops to the train station, the airport, and (our favorite) the beach - a 20 minute ride. The property had all the amenities one could wish for including a computer and a quality sound system. The bed was extremely comfortable and the washer-dryer was a great convenience.

The owner was close at hand if needed but never intrusive. The only assistance we ever required was help with a computer glitch, which was fixed within minutes. An extensive and well-prepared listing of local attractions, restaurants, and shopping was provided by the owner. There were literally dozens of restaurants a short walk away as well as three supermarkets and an assortment of bakeries and gourmet shops.

Haarlem has so much to offer that other then our quick jaunts to the beach, we only left town once (Amsterdam) during our two-week stay. I would most highly recommend this wonderful rental to all who want to experience Dutch life at its finest and the beautiful and friendly community of Haarlem.

We have fond memories of our enjoyable stay in Haarlem, among a friendly, welcoming community. Our charming, well equipped accommodation, with free internet, was in a pretty, traffic- free street - close to cafes, shops and transport. The bonus was a sunny upstairs deck where we could relax with a coffee or glass of wine. For us it was a lovely, urban Dutch experience.

For our first trip to the Netherlands we decided not to stay in a huge city but instead read and heard interesting stories about Haarlem.

We booked with &&& and *** and were pleasantly surprised with the delightful apartment for two. The antique interior and modern bathroom, with easy and fast internet access (laptop supplied), made it very easy for us to focus on exploring the surrounding areas. The kitchen was cozy enough for our self catering needs. The balcony is a perfect addition if you'd be inclined to smoke something late at night.

Closely situated to shops it was very easy to do daily shopping for our catering needs.

If traveling to Amsterdam or neighbouring cities we would recommend for visitors to rather take the train, instead of busses, which is a 15 minute walk through the beautiful and shop friendly inner city streets.

The locals are firework 'insane' over New Years and we could definitely recommend going to the Grootte Plein over New Years. Most restaurants seem rather busy over the festive period, so a good idea would be to book in advance.

This district is a shopper's dream with everything from clothing to gifts to awesome local treats and health stores.

If you were snowed in, or just lazy after a day of exploration, you could come home to local television entertainment or what a movie, which we didn't really ever get around to. We mostly opted for cooking and preselected playlists from GrooveShark on the supplied laptop and sound system.

The cottage is perfect for a stay over in Haarlem and we would happily recommend it as a home base for travel.
