This was our first trip to Barcelona and all Matt's photos and info didn't disappoint us. He met us when we arrived and had a nice welcome of appies and a bottle of wine. The Flat is tucked away in a quiet little street, secure, very comfy bed, TV with limited English channels (found about 4-5, National Geographic, Discovery, never did find the News but we're on vacation....right) and close to everything. It was a treat having a terrace. Always something in the busy neighborhood outside to view or just enjoy a glass of wine or read a book.If you want to cook, many staples were on hand. Great coffee! Being able to walk to almost all amenities was important without a car. Matt was there for us whenever we had a question and shared his favourite eating places and things to do. Wifi was free, a plus, and with no phone it was nIce he spoke fluent Spanish helping us book the Flamenco Show which was great (wow can those guys dance). Loved the two big markets (one really close), the many delicious tapas and little outside cafes, the hop on, hop off buses to see Gaudi's marvelous architecture, Art and History museums and many attractions close enough to walk to. Definitely need to carry a map as streets go every which way, especially at night and comfortable walking shoes. Barcelona comes alive at night, so make sure you experience it. We had no problems with pick pockets but were careful as advised. We'd highly recommend Matt's place to others who want a cosy flat that is affordable, clean and close to everything. We'll be back! This apartment was immaculate and had everything you needed. A small gem with an inviting terrace overlooking the area to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail. The location is in walking distance to the heart of the city - Ciutat Vella! From there you can get the hop on/hop off bus to take you to all the major attractions. Matt, the owner, was available for any problems or inquiries and had a great info binder at the apartment. I will recommend this property to any of my friends travelling to Barcelona.

I can't say enough good things about this rental! My wife and I stayed for a week on one leg of our honeymoon, and could compare this experience to a booking agency rental in Paris.

The experiences were night and day different! Booking with the owner was easier, we were more confident in finding the apartment and getting our keys, the amount of thought going in to make our stay more comfortable and enjoyable was noticeably different, and overall our impressions were MUCH better with this booking than with the other.

It was very clean, well-stocked for everything we might need other than our own clothes and food, is in a central location and a VERY easy walk to the Metro and felt like a very "local" experience, which was exactly what we were looking for. The owner was such a great host - he had a very personal touch that really showed relative to a booking agency that can be much more hands off. He went out of his way to make us comfortable, address any problems (I was a looser and couldn't figure out the door lock one day) and made sure we had all the information that we could need to make the most of our stay for tourist, grocery, sight-seeing...every need. There was even a welcoming snack and drink for us at the apartment that we enjoyed on the outdoor terrace!

The owner was very accommodating to meet us after our early flight arrival and with simple instructions to find him in Raval, he walked us to the apartment, and gave a bit of a tour as we went.

The apartment is well sized for a couple comfortably, and I don't think the pictures do it ~enough~ justice. It is very european, so North American's may find the bathroom tight if you don't have an open mind about how things are different, but that is about it. The breeze on hot days blows through the unit, the terrace has fantastic views, as does the bedroom, of the city skyline and the surrounding points of interest like Tibidabo and Montjuic. Its otherwise modern, clean, has updated appliances, etc... A great place to stay. I would highly recommend it!

Our choice of rental in Barcelona could not have been better. After arriving at the apartment, Matt helped us get settled in by familiarizing us with the apartment's amenities and what we could expect to find in the neighbourhood. The market, grocery store, restaurants, coffee bars and shops were all very convenient and close by. The apartment itself has been updated, is stylishly appointed and kept very clean. We had everything we needed for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. We also very much appreciated the added bonus of the private terrace with views over the rooftops for morning coffees and evening refreshments.
In terms of location, we found that most points of interest were within easy walking distance and for the couple of places we wanted to visit that were further afield, the subway system is both modern and efficient and just around the corner.
We can't say more about our host Matt than what has already been posted by other reviewers. We can only confirm that we found him to be helpful, hospitable and gracious during out entire stay.
We hope to return to Barcelona and will definitely stay at Matt's apartment again. Whether planning a short or extended stay, we highly recommend this apartment.

We chose this apartment for our honeymoon in Barcelona and were extremely happy with our choice. The owners are terrific people and Matt made sure our stay was the best it could possibly be! Before arriving we received very helpful directions on getting to the apartment, and once arrived Matt met up with us to make sure we found the place, and to tell us about the neighbourhood and key 'locals' info. He even bought treats for us, which were so appreciated after our over night flight.

The apartment is in the perfect neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, a great market and the metro close by. It was just a few minutes walk to Las Ramblas, the beach, Barri Gothic and more. All appliances worked well, and it had satellite access with the ability to return dubbed content back to the original English.

After leaving Barcelona, we visited Paris for a week. Soon after arriving, we realized just how spoiled we had been with the Barcelona place! While a cute apartment in a good neighbourhood, it lacked the hominess that Matt and Sue brought to the Barcelona apt.

When we return to Barcelona, I will definately be booking this apartment again! Just wish they had places in every destination we decide to visit.

This apartment's location is perfect for touring Barcelona - walking distance to major sites and close to public transport. The ethnically and generationally diverse neighborhood provides easy access to wonderful meals and shops - including the Sant Antoni Marcat where we found roasted chicken, the freshest eggs ever, great cheeses, cooked beans, fruit and produce. Matt's hospitality is unsurpassed from the welcoming cava and snacks to his helpful tips for restaurants and vistas. The apartment and terrace are meticulous and very comfortable. And the wireless is terrific!

The unit, while small, was very adequate, clean and recently renovated. Our host was very gracious, helpful and accommodating. It was close to most things of interest. We would highly recommend this unit to other travellers.

We stayed for a couple of nights on this apartment, but we had a great experience because of the quality of the apartment and the warm welcome and support from the owner. It is on a great location, the bedroom has an impressive view that makes it very special for a romantic couple. The kitchen, bathroom and lounge are all clean and new and offer all the commodities to enjoy a lovely stay. We definitely will come back to this apartment not only for the apartment itself that is very nice, but also for the support and good energy from the owner that you can notice has put a lot of love on this apartment.
