The right place to spend a peaceful holiday
As soon as you arrive you can already breathe the flavour of the grass, flowers, trees, Mediterranean vegetation. You are in the private garden (300mq) of the house; just a few steps, ahead 50m, there is the swimming pool (5m x 10m) with sun terrace equipped (parasols, sunbeds, gazebo) ideal place where the guests can relax and appreciate the beautiful view surrounding you. In front of the villa, there is a nice patio where you can enjoy your meals. The House (200sq m) has two floors. When you enter the front door, you are welcomed by a cosy kitchen, continuing we arrive into a comfortable living room. It has a panoramic arched glass door that opens out onto the front patio. A door in the living room opens into living/dining room with kitchen corner, a fireplace and double sofa bed. A glass door in this room opens onto a paved furnished side terrace with tables, chairs and barbecue.

Fantastic villa - no complaints - clean, well equipped, great pool, lots of space, well 'away from it all'. Great service altogether. The villa was easy to find - road to Medicina is windy but take your time and no problem. Pescia is also a great town - all you need for shops, cafes and places to eat. shop in Pietrabuona is also good for basics and cooked food to take away. The train station in Pescia is alos very good - trains to Firenze and Lucca late into the evening and plenty of parking (if the ticket machine in the station is broken - use the cafe across the street). Altogether i'd certainly recommend.

Relaxing holidays

Our family spent 2 wonderful weeks in Casa Santoveccio. The house was in a very good shape, very quiet and a perfect place, to relax and to enjoy the beautiful toscanian landscape. Even with 12 people, living there, we had enough place and before all, enough bathrooms.

Beautiful house, garden and pool in lovely Tuscany

Casa Santovecchio is a really nice holiday house. The house is clean and warm decorated. The exterior (house) and interior (furnish, etc.) are in Italian style which is beautiful. All facilities are present into the kitchen and there is a washing machine.
The garden is well maintained. There is a lot of space all around the house. Kids can play everywhere in the garden or on the terraces (2x). There are lovely olivetrees and flowers in the garden.
The swimming pool is nice situated on approx. 50 mtr. from the house.
The environment is spectacular. With forrests and nice viewpoints from the hills. Cities in the region to visit are Lucca, Pisa and Florence. Tuscany is a beautiful region!

This villa is not worth the money. The villa is damp and cold. The road to the villa is steep and treacherous. The furniture and bedding is old and outdated. The owners are rude and unhelpful. We lost electricity during our stay and the owners refused to offer us any help. There are too many others to choose from that I would not reccommend this villa.
Owner's Response: It's easy to explain this disappointment: the family, unfortunately, arrived at Villa Santovecchio during the snow storm that hit Europe and US, just before Christmas.
First of all I'd like to point out that, as always, we did our best to let guests enjoy their staying.
The day before their arrival we cleaned the road from the snow for the coming guests, using tractor.
I understand it was an unpleasant situation, but electricity went off in all the area, because of the snow: when we called power supplier company to have info they replied they were already fixed the problem.
The furniture (available pics on our website) is matching the rural-house style, and having a look to the other reviews everybody appreciates it.
About the house coldness tenants can manage autonomously the heating.
I'm really sorry for the inconvenient, I'm sure this bad feedback is due only by bad mood since all our previous guests really appreciate our house and our family management as well.

Great week in a Tuscan hideaway

We recently returned to the UK after a lovely trip through Europe, which was highlighted by our one week stay at this beautiful property. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 4 children aged 2-9. House was immaculate, as were the grounds and the swimming pool. Very private location (if you don't mind a drive up a narrow, winding hill) tucked up in the mountains. Easy access to Lucca, Pisa and the coast (all with an hour). Florence not much further. Owners were extremely helpful, but not intrusive at all. They arranged for a four course Tuscan dinner (prepared by a chef) on the premises, which was fanstastic. Overall, a really nice stay. Not a tremendous amount of things to do within the immediate area (not counting local pizzerias and gelato shoppes in nearby Pescia - 5 min away by car), but if you are looking to relax and decompress, then this house is ideal. Car is mandatory.

Très belle maison, quelques points à améliorer

Super séjour, maison très bien entretenue, belle piscine, superbe environnement. On ne manquait de rien.
Ce qui pourrait être améliorer: Il y avait qu'un seul parasol pour 8 personnes. Il n'y avait pas assez d'ombre.Il manquait donc un ou deux parasols stables à la piscine.
Deuxième point: Il serait important d'installer des moustiquaires devant les fenêtres des chambres à coucher.
Ce qui pourrait être améliorer: Il y avait qu'un seul parasol pour 8 personnes. Il n'y avait pas assez d'ombre.Il manquait donc un ou deux parasols stables à la piscine.

Super schönes Haus!!!

Das Haus ist wirklich so schön, wie auf den Bildern! Inventar ist in tip-top Zustand und die Zimmer/Bäder sind auch ausgesprochen sauber. Durch die abgelegene Lage eignet sich das Haus bestens für Leute, die gerne bis spät in die Nacht auch etwas lauter sind. :)
Das Haus hat im ersten Stock ein Schlafzimmer und nebenan eine Ausziehcouch. Im zweiten Stock befinden sich 4 Schlafzimmer. Insgesamt gibt es 3 Bäder inkl. Toilette und eine separate Toilette.
Der Pool ist auch sehr schön.
Im Großen und Ganzen hat das Haus meine Erwartungen bei weitem Übertroffen. Jederzeit wieder!

Wonderful vacation

The villa was a perfect place for our family trip to Italy. The facilities were just as described-kitchen had everything we needed-the property was very clean and well maintained. The weather was beautiful so we made good use of the swimming-pool and garden terrace, sipping our wine.
The villa was ideally located for our day trips around the country. We visited Pisa, the beach, Lucca, and Florence. Driving in Italy is a little different than in the other countries-and there are lots of narrow roads, including the one to the villa-it's just an adventure!
We have rented many places for our vacations, and appreciate when descriptions are accurate, such as with this villa. The reviews are what helped us make a decision, and are very glad we decided to vacation here!

Absolutely wonderful place. It was actually better than expected. In case you're not interested in beach life, this is exactly the kind of place you're looking for. The house is very nice and there is enough space for 10+ persons. The house is renovated with good taste preserving the old tuscanian style. We loved the garden and swimming pool. Property was very clean and well-maintained and the owners were really friendly.
The location is very good in case you want to visit Pisa or Florenze even though one may have troubles finding the place first time (at least we did), since it is up to the hill in via a little village. Nevertheless, certainly worth of every penny. I would recommend to anyone interested in nice and quiet tuscanian surroundings with nice little villages. Would love to visit the same place again.
