The ''Compass Rose'' is a truly unique ocean front home located on the northern end of the Sea Ranch, just minutes to the town of Gualala. One visitor referred to this home as ''The Crown Jewel of Sea Ranch''.

The reverse floor plan allows visitors some of the most dramatic ocean front views of the Pacific available anywhere on the Ranch. You will feel like you are on the bow of a two story cruise ship, yet within the comfort of a spacious and pleasing Obie Bowman designed home complete with barn doors, wood floors, and fully equipped gourmet kitchen, comfortable living room with gas fireplace and flat screen TV with Blu Ray DVD player and Playstation Two, and Direct TV for when the sun goes down. A private library with its own picture window on the ocean, sun room, fully dedicated office, free WIFI throughout the home, and a hot tub overlooking the ocean, no place better to watch the sunset.

The master suite is in its own private wing of the home, features views of the Pacific, a small fish pond, and its own private jacuzzi tub.The other two bedrooms are off the sun room and both feature queen beds.

The changing moods of the sea, which can be viewed from every room, will surprise you. The lulling of the surf's sound is the best relaxation one can get.

The parade of wild life you will witness include whales, dolphins, seals, fox, deer, pelicans, raccoons, and even an occasional bobcat.

The Sea Ranch also offers 3 separate swimming pools, a 10 mile long bluff top trail along the ocean, several beaches, tennis courts and many miles of trails both on the ocean front and in the redwoods and along the river.

Gualala has two grocery stores, a video rental store, several restaurants, and many art galleries.Our hope is that you enjoy this unique home as much as we have. Be sure to visit the bench in front of the home, many a problem has melted away at this site.

What a beautiful picturesque scene! Nothing like having the ocean as your front yard! We have come to The Sea Ranch on several occasions. This is one of our favorite houses to date.

We loved the house. We loved the location. The seals, the otters, the deer were so close...The flowers so varied- so beautiful... This is a naturalist's paradise, and the house is perfectly sited to enjoy the best of the flora and fauna. The first visit to Compass Rose but not the last.

Wow...watched a young whale breach "jump out of the water" more than 20 times. We thought our eyeballs were going to fall out. It happened b/t 7 and 8 pm on Sat night about 200 yards out past the rocks....amazing...we were late for our dinner reservations at Saint Orres.

What a fabulous place to spend Christmas!! Exploring the house and finding all the adorable little nooks. Everyone was able to find their preferred spot. ( Lined up in chairs facing the ocean was probably the best) The changing tidal conditions to the hawk hovering just outside- all of it was awe-inspiring. Thank you for sharing the wonderful little corner of Heaven-on Earth with us. We hope to make it back soon

A perfect perch for keeping tabs on the seals, whales, birds and waves, Great as a napping niche for after walk, after lunch laziness. Good library and wifi reception for past dinner enjoyment. Thanks....Now restored.
