Our 5 STAR renter reviews say it all! This spectacular 5000 sq ft, 6 BR, 5 1/2 bath, home is located at the top of the prestigious Hound Ears Country Club gated community. The amazing long range views go all the way to Tennessee and Virginia,and change with the weather and the seasons. Designed by a prominent architect in the Frank Lloyd Wright vernacular, it is a unique home like no other in North Carolina.

The house can sleep 14 and features 6 Bedrooms. The Master and the 'Zen' bedroom each have King sized beds. The 'kid's' room has two twins and the other 3 bedrooms have Queens. There are also 2 Queen size pull out couches in the living room and game room.

The main floor features a huge living room with spectacular views, a gas fireplace and 55' HD LED TV. There is a XBOX 360 with Kinnect for family fun. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped. The dining room seats 8 and there is a table for four in the breakfast area for a total seating of 12. There is a also a guest bedroom on this floor with a full bath/powder room with double sink.

The huge Master Suite is in it's own seperate wing connected by an enclosed sky bridge to the main house which provides maximum privacy. It is on 3 levels. The upper level features a huge Master Bedroom with king sized bed, a remote control gas fireplace and a 42' LED HD TV with DVD player. It also has a convenient half bath, a seperate seating area, and a home office on this level . The center level has seperate His and Her's full baths. Her's includes a bidet and a jacuzzi tub. There's a huge dressing room with a built in lighted make-up table and a large walk-in closet. The bottom level features a private Master Guest room with queen size bed and direct access to the bathrooms without disturbing the main Master Bedroom. Perfect for keeping younger children close to their parents. NOTE!This is the 6th bedroom in the house, but it is accessed only through the main Master Bedroom so it is great for keeping your own kids close by but infringes on your privacy in the Master Bedroom if other adults use it.

The lower level of the main house features a large guest 'Zen' bedroom, a full bath, and a bedroom with 2 twin beds. In addition,the additional 'Jetson' suite has a private bedroom with it's own bath.

There is a family/play room with a new queen pull out couch, 42' LED HD TV, DVD player, Play Station 2, Wii game, and a stereo.

There is also an enclosed laundry room with full sized washer and dryer.

The house was completely redone in 2011. It has new furniture, new wood floors, and new flat screen HD TV's with dvd players in the LR, Playroom and all bedrooms. The kitchen equipment and accessories are all new. There are new dishes and silverware for 14 guests. The linens and towels are top of the line. Everything has been done at an 'Owner' quality level, not as a rental.

WINTER WARNING:

The North Carolina mountains are prone to snow and icy conditions during the winter months. The house is at an elevation of 3400 feet. A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE OR CHAINS ARE REQUIRED DURING THE WINTER MONTHS. THE HOUND EAR'S ROADS AND THE DRIVEWAY ARE TOO STEEP AND SLIPPERY FOR 2 WHEEL DRIVE DURING HEAVY SNOW AND ICE STORMS.

About The Owner

We recently bought this home even though we were not really ready to buy. It was that spectacular! We're from Miami and getting away from the heat and humidity is becoming a necessity. I've been vacationing in the area all my life and wanted to get something that we could spend a lot of time in someday. This house is it. We have just finished refurbishing/redecorating the entire house. This was done with top of the line furniture and accessories for our use, not cheaply done as a rental property.I know you'll enjoy this house as much as we do.

This location has the best of all worlds. It's in the beautiful, secure,gated Hound Ears County Club. It is 5 miles from the charm of Blowing Rock and 5 miles to Boone, a great little college town with all the services you need for comfortable living. Only a 2 hour drive on 4 lane highways from the Charlotte, NC. international airport, it's easy to get to from anywhere in the country. It's just minutes away from two of North Carolina's best ski resorts, Sugar Mountain, and Beech Mountain, as well as Appalachin Mountain.

For the kids, there's snow skiing, zip lining, snow and river tubing whitewater rafting and the famous Tweetsie Railroad amusment park.

What makes this house unique

You get all the privacy and security of being in an exclusive low density, heavily wooded, gated community and the seclusion to enjoy the spectacular weather and scenery. Yet, it's close to Blowing Rock, Boone, and Banner Elk with their great shopping, dining, and sports. The area has every sport and activity you'll ever want, including golf, 4 ski resorts, snow and river tubing, and recently added, zip lining. The kids will love the nearby famous Tweetsie Railroad amusement park, the park with swimming pool in downtown Blowing Rock and the Jonas resort tubing park and horse back riding. The house has become a favorite for guests looking for a special home for all types of events from weddings to birthdays to ASU homecoming games.

Thanks for opening your house up for our daughter's wedding weekend. The dressing room was ideal for getting all the bridal party ready. The patio and scenery outside made wonderful pictures. Our daughter's dream was to have pictures made with mountains as a background in her wedding gown. It truly was a blessing to have all the room for family and bridesmaids and to have such a comfortable place to relax after the wedding. Wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy all the house had to offer! We would love to come again. Great location, very convenient to Boone and Valle Crusis. We ate at Hob Nob Farm Cafe on King St. in downtown Boone, it was excellent! The owner could not have been better to work with! The photos do not do justice to the house or the views from every single window! The linens and towels were top of the line. The kitchen was well stocked for any kind of cooking. Loved the swing with a view that stretches as far as you can see!

Best place to stay in the High Country

I had the pleasure to take my wife and son to this wonderful home, there is nothing left out here! Pat has done an amazing job with his home and it has more comforts than most homes. The pictures do not give the views any justice at all. Every night we sat out on the porch and were entertained by a different type of sunset.

The only thing that I could suggest is to book one extra night because you will not want to leave. Pat, thank you for sharing your home with my family.

How lucky we were to spend a week in this gorgeous home. One photo cannot capture the vast view that is seen from every room. We loved to watch the sunset from the hanging swing just off the second master. It was lovely to have breakfast at the outside dining area watching the clouds clear out of the valley. We enjoyed the top notch technology, unique architecture, and private location of this home. The furnishings are upscale, comfortable and family friendly. We couldn't believe we could enjoy this privacy and still be ten minutes from countless activities, restaurants, and hiking trails. The owner is wonderful to work with and we hope to return again.

Thank you for the privilege to rent your home. It exceeded our expectations on every level. We arrived to 18" of freshly fallen snow. You are right when you advise of having 4 wheel drive but thanks to the Hounds Ear plow team helping to get us to your home and your gracious offer to use your personal 4 wheel drive to get up and down the mountain we had a fantastic time. Your furnishings are over the top - large plazma tv's and dvd players in every room and beautiful furniture. There were 12 of us on this trip and we were all extremely comfortable. The main floor views are spectacular and this contemporary Frank Lloyd Wright designed home is simply awesome. We enjoyed Hounds Ear so much we have made an offer to purchase a second home on this property. Thanks again!
