We really enjoyed our stay, the condo met our expectations and we would stay again. The unit is very well stocked with kitchen items, towels and beach and recreation items. It is also one of only three complexes that are ocean front. We enjoyed the amazing sunsets from the patio. The lounge area outside the pool was a great feature as well with good food at a reasonable price and really nice staff.
Peggy was very pleasant to deal with and we were also appreciative of being able to stay at the complex until our evening flight. The propoerty is an excellent location for the Lavaman Triathlon.

Very Relaxing

This was a very nice condo in excellant condition, as well as a beautiful complex. This unit provided eveything we needed as well as a car (Pd extra for vehicle). Enjoyed looking out on the ocean and watching whales everyday. We liked the location, as it was north of Kona and was very peaceful. Everything we needed was close buy. Would stay here again.

A great condo!

Aloha, Peggy,
Just wanted to drop you a note regarding our recent stay at your condo in Hawaii to let you know how much we loved your place. The initial drive from the airport at Kona was like driving through a moonscape, especially since we had just come from the beautiful Kauai, so you can just imagine how delighted we were when we approached your beautiful property at Hale Kai. My wife and I were just amazed at how you loaded the condo with everything we could have needed and how immaculate the property was. It's view of the ocean was just perfect to the point where we could see whales' spouts by just sitting outside on the patio and viewing with the naked eye. Unfortunately we didn't bring binoculars with us to get more of a close-up view but thanks to a boat ride we took later that week we got to see those magnificent animals from a close distance as well as a school (150-200) of spinner dolphins (amongst which we swam!). My wife, who is a gourmet cook, loved your well-stocked kitchen with all of the appliances and gadgets, thanks to which she was able to cook up a couple of my favorite meals such as shrimp oreganata and linguini with white clam sauce. We did suffer a bit of sticker shock in the nearby super market, but not enough to negatively affect our wonderful week on the big island. The beach chairs, umbrellas and snorkeling gear also came in handy for those times we beached it. As we said many times that week, "Peggy's thought of everything". We made sure to leave your place as immaculate as we found it so that should we ever return to the big island you will hopefully allow us to once again rent it.

Great Ocean Front Condo in Waikoloa

Well appointed kitchen, comfortable firm king bed, nice tiled shower in master bath. Enjoyed the cool ocean breeze from ocean front master bedroom. Best feature was the ocean front pool area with state of the art BBQ, small restaurant and bar. Appreciated no extra charge for cleaning or resort fee.

Our stay on the Big Island.

We stayed at this beautiful two bedroom condo overlooking the ocean. The landscaping at this property is beautiful.
The condo unit is well laid out and furnished, and the amenities are extensive, including toll free telephone calls to North America, secured wireless internet access, and high definition TVs in the front room and each of the two bedrooms.
We found the condo owner to be easy to deal with and very accommodating. We rented the condo owner's RAV 4, which we picked up at the airport on our arrival in the evening. This was very helpful to us.
When we arrived, we found the condo was very clean and looked beautiful.
We had access to a pool, gym and restaurant near the condo unit, which are very impressive.
There are also shops, restaurants and markets nearby, as well as several fine golf courses in the area.
I would recommend this condo to a friend or relative.

Spectacular... in every way

This truly was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations my family has had in a long time. Everything was thought of; including cooler bags and beach chairs... All we needed to do was arrive. We were there in early January and enjoyed some of the most amazing whale watching right from the living room of the condo. Beautiful gardens, gorgeous pool and hot tub area (with exercise facilities) and so much more. Every day we set out on a new adventure, then returned to relax poolside. If you want a relaxing vacation in a spectacular condo, it doesn't get better then this... We wanted to move in...

The Perfect Place

Whatever you do Do Not Pass By This Condo!!! What makes this unit so special are the many thoughful touches the owners have provided. There is absolutely nothing you need to bring except your clothes. The pictures are excellent but when you open the door the view and the condo will take your breath away. The location within Halii Kai is excellent you are almost right next door to the stunning pool and exercise area. Peggy has outfitted the unit with top notch cookware utensils linens electronics and accessories. The property was in perfect condition and immaculately clean. Peggy and Doug were always available by phone or email. I have stayed on The Big Island many times but this has absolutely been the very place I've stayed.
Make sure you ask Peggy about the Rav-4 that is also available great pricing and much nicer than the rentals you normally get.

My wife, two boys (ages 7 and 4), and I spent 4 days at Peggy’s condo on the Big Island. The unit is everything you would expect of an oceanfront unit at Halii Kai – great location, gourmet appliances, premium furnishings, high-end AV setup. What makes this unit special are the extras. Starting in the kitchen, there is seemingly everything you could possibly need for an extended stay. We have never seen a rental unit with such a wide array of pots and pans, cooking utensils, silverware, glassware, plasticware, coffeemakers (3), and the list goes on. The bedrooms were well appointed and the beds were firm but quite comfortable. My wife fell in love with the bathroom towels, some of the softest, plushest towels we have ever used. For entertainment, you have the Sony flat screen TVs and Bluray players in the living room and both bedrooms, along with a selection of DVDs. We were able to quickly and easily connect our personal laptops to the provided WiFi network and a wireless printer is available. For those who travel without their own laptop, one is provided in the unit. The hall closet was filled to the brim with goodies for both indoor (educational games for kids a bonus) and outdoor (boogie boards, 4 beach chairs, 2 parasols, Frisbees, snorkeling gear, beach towels, and more!). The only things we needed but were not provided were a beach toy set (pail, shovel) for the kids and some beach bags to help lug everything around (we donated both at the end of our stay). Another positive item to note is that all of the everyday necessities are provided and well stocked – toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, ziplocs, detergent, fabric softener – everything. While everything during our stay was fantastic, we did have two minor issues: the first was with the air conditioning, specifically the motion sensor – if anything the unit is too efficient. I believe Peggy has taken action to either desensitize the motion detector or even bypass entirely. The second issue we had was the door code (no fault of the owner) – be sure to write down the code (including special characters such as the “#” key) and take it with you. It would also be prudent to write down the phone numbers for both Peggy and her local contact – just in case. Peggy was a pleasure to deal with and was always responsive with any email or phone call. Overall, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone visiting the Big Island.
