My parents and I stayed here for my daughter's graduation from NYU and it could not have been any nicer! The apartment is filled with light and Barbara fills it with flowers and a lovely welcome basket! It is very clean and has everything you need. The full kitchen afforded us the ability to make meals. The local jazz and food and neighborhood was incredible. My parents found a great Catholic chapel a block away to care for their souls. The washer and dryer came in handy as well. You are minutes walking distance away from 3 subway stops and the metro North railway, so going to mid-town or soho is a breeze. There is a great local market, star-bucks and any kind of shopping you should need. Barbara is the BEST host- she gives you plenty of guidance, should you require it, to make your stay easy and fun. WE WILL BE BACK!

What a warm welcome and what an exciting surprise at Lenny's place in Harlem. The apartment is cosy, well organized, flowers everywhere, good bed, very quiet. Barbara is a strong personality and knows the art of hospitality with respect for your wishes and privacy and she has a fine taste of decoration.
Harlem became our discovery of the year: you feel safe and comfortable in subway and on the street, it is full of culture and swing.
The apartment is well centered for shopping at 125th street, close to Marcus Garvey Parc and different subway lines who bring you in 20 minutes to Manhattan and back to your quiet and beautifull oasis in Harlem.
Go to the amateur night in the famous Apollo theater on Wednesday evening and feel the spirit and devotion on Sunday at the imposing Baptist church Mount Olive at Lennox street nearby.

My cousin Hanna and I stayed here for our first visit in NYC. We are simply head over heals with NYC and are sure that staying at Lenny's had a massive impact on this.
The apartment is spacious, funky, bright, calm and cosy. 
Thanks to Barbara's talent, it welcomes you in a warm personal atmosphere (you can listen to your own music, take a relaxing bath, check your emails, call your friends-and make them jealous ;) plan your day ahead online, wash your clothes, ...)
Beds are very comfortable, kitchen is fully equipped and doesn't leave any wishes open. Everything is clean and in perfect new condition.
Barbara is not just a host of some NYC tourists - you can feel that she lives a passion and makes you feel very special and very welcome from the moment you walk through the door!
We were actually looking forward coming home (while we were still out!!!) after spending the day in the city being able to charge our batteries in such a lovely home!
Subway and busses are around the corner, same as Starbucks. But if you like it more local, go to the Olive Market!
The 'hop on-hop off' sightseeing busses stop 10 mins walk away so that u can start with a Harlem tour opposite the Apollo Theater!

My friends from Holland came to visit NYC for the first time. I was supposed to meet them in New York. We found this place on a last minute and were really thrilled that we have a place to stay, but we never expected that the apartment will be SO great and the owners will be SO wonderful!
My friends arrived to the apartment a few days before me. When I called to ask how everything is, my friend’s words were: “The place is unbelievable! Like Carrie’s apartment in Sex and the City, but even better and bigger!”
The place is really great. It is very spacious and easily enough for 3-4 people.
Barbara, thank you so much for the great hosting! Next time I’m in New York, I will be definitely looking to stay there again.

From the moment we arrived and met Barbara we felt like being home! Everything was perfect, location, apartment, city...It was really home far away from home! We enjoyed 11 days in apartment and in the city and we really hope to come back soon. One big thank you to Barbara for making our first visit to NYC amazing!

We are two guys from Paris who have stayed at Lenny's place for 7 nights and we enjoyed it from day one till the end. Barbara and Fred are just the best hosts one can imagine - they helped us with addresses for shopping, restaurants, places to see without being "too present" at all. Just very nice people who know what travellers are looking for and just do a little bit more than that !

The appartment is everything one can expect as a home away from home: right next to a subway station, a great supermarket (with mainly organic products) just around the corner and in the middle of the greatest places to see in Harlem ! The appartment itself is perfectly decorated and there are all equipments you need for cooking, mailing, calling home, laundry or whatever. It's a wonderful place to come back to at night after a long day of sightseeing in NYC. The bed is extremely comfortable and the appartment is huge for two people. We felt so lucky having found this place that we tell everybody about it!

Barbara, thanks again for everything. You, Fred and your appartment have two big fans in Paris! We'll come back for sure.

I really enjoyed my stay at this property. I was in town for medical treatment and being able to come home to this cozy apartment rather than a small hotel room really made my stay wonderful.

The property is exactly as it is described and as the pictures depicted on the site. The owner was wonderful. She really helped us with small items and provided a wonderful goodie basket upon checking in. My spouse and I were the only occupants on this trip but the apartment is more than spacious enough for 3 to 4 people. I have already recommended this property to friends.

I really enjoyed being in Harlem close to everything. We ate at Sylvia's and it was wonderful. I would highly recommend doing Wednesday night amateur night at the Apollo theater it was quite entertaining, we really enjoyed it. If you like jazz the apartment is walking distance to the Lenox Lounge. We walked to the movie theater and shopping.

The apartment is a very short walk to bus and subway and a short distance to broadway, times square, etc. I must say that I spent the majority of time right in Harlem because there is so much to do and see there.

There were times when I was not feeling well and I did not want to take the subway and needed to take a cab to my doctor's office on the upper east side, to my dismay hailing a cab in Harlem in the morning is almost impossible. I remedied that issue by discovering Harlem car service. They were excellent!!! cheaper than a taxi and provided great service.

The owner recommended the Wild Olive Market and it was great and a short walking distance. I would highly recommend trying their pre-prepared dishes. Inexpensive and tasty.

Overall a really good trip. I am looking forward to staying again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Jackson Mansion!! The place is spacious enough for 3 people, clean, tidy and well equipped. This space doesn't lack anything.
Barbara welcomed us with a fruit, cheese and wine basket. She helped us with any possible queries at any time and made us feel at home immediately.
If one enjoys staying in the vibrant Harlem, yet close to Central Park, this is a fantastic place to spend a short holiday!!
