Come stay in an apartment in the Maple Grove Farmhouse built in 1823. The house is surrounded by 140 acres of fields and woods for great hiking. Take a walk to the beaver pond that sits at the foot of the hill; if you get up early enough you will see the beavers. Swing under the huge maples or walk through flower beds and vegetable gardens or just sit and write. Cozy up inside with a good book or whip up a great meal. This is a wonderful place to get away from it all. Whether visiting family for a few weeks or viewing the magnificent colors of our New England fall foliage or on a romantic winter escape, enjoy your own five rooms of tranquil space.

Visit Brimfield, the Antique capital of the world, Sturbridge Village, see life as it used to be, Quabbin Reservoir with hundreds of acres of trails, Wauchusett mountain skiing or disc golfing at the Barre Falls Dam. If attending a wedding at Allen Harding Estate or visiting your student at Eagle Hill School, Maple Grove is right nearby.
About Rebecca Southwick

Maple Grove Farmhouse is the house I grew up in. We lived here surrounded by fields, woods, and a beaver pond. We were a family with eight children and a large dairy farm. Now we enjoy the swings and lawn chairs under the beautiful maples.

Why Rebecca Southwick chose Barre

I love our small New England town, stone walls, and beautiful town common. The townspeople are the best! When we had a fire in 1963 and half the house was gone, Barre townspeople volunteered and helped my Dad rebuild. That's why I love living here!

What makes this apartment unique

Our house has plenty of room and lovely outdoor spaces. It is quiet, rural, and friendly. Perfect place to come for a month and visit relatives, a girls get-a-way, to spend quiet retreat time, or visit New England's attractions.

Simply wonderful!

My partner and another couple, dear friends of ours, spent a heavenly weekend at this warm and peaceful home. We spent every morning relaxing on the beautiful grounds sipping our coffee made using the coffee maker provided by our charming hostesses! The house was clean, the cabinets well stocked and the towels were soft and fluffy. After only three short days at Maple Grove Farm, we left joyful and rejuvenated. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was an absolute joy!

This was one of our favorite vacations. All the comforts of home in this quaint New England town, Landlords were great and the house was excellent. All we could have ever hoped for.

Wonderful Get-away

My husband & I, and our children spent a wonderful, relaxing week at Maple Grove and loved every moment. We arrived late (midnite) and the landlord was available to show us around, and a sign was posted to welcome us (how cool is that). The apartment is very clean, bright and open, like being at home. The kitchen is well stocked with cookware and utensils making cooking really easy, and there was coffee placed for the morning since we were unable to shop that night. The rooms are beautifully decorated and our two children were very comfortable together in one room. Great parking right outside the apartment and the grounds are beautiful; I enjoyed my early morning walks with coffee each day. We walked down to the pond and observed beavers (animals not in California that I've seen) and could hear them in the water. There are walking trails and the quaint Barre common is just 5 min. away that has a "great" restaurant and ice cream store. I highly recommend Maple Grove for anyone looking for a home-away from home to vacation, newly weds you will love the quite quaint location and nature lovers, you can't find a better location to admire the Barre, Mass area than this. My stay at the farmhouse was just delightful! Very clean; very homey; very large; a new design of an older New England farmhouse near a quaint small town.
