This property is absolutely delightful.we felt very comfortable and it was wonderful being able to live locally and enjoy the community.
The house is beautifully presented and very spacious. We would not hesitate to stay there again.
We would definitely recommend this property., we were 3 adults and had our son and wife visit. The bathroom sharing takes a little coordination but that certainly was not an issue for us.

Wonderful Place to Stay in San Francisco!

Visitors coming to San Francisco should forget about renting a pricey hotel and consider this house, which is a short walk to and from the Castro strip and the MUNI underground, which will take you most anywhere in the City.

The house itself is incredibly charming, elegant and well-appointed, with a spacious living room, dining room, kitchen and master suite. The second bedroom is not quite as large, but has ample space for two. (For visitors who'll be using more than one bedroom, note that the only way into the bathroom is through the smaller bedroom.)

The large kitchen is sunny and impressively stocked with all the equipment you'd ever need to make and enjoy a home-cooked dinner (only thing we couldn't find was a food processor). The back deck is smallish but nonetheless charming.

My partner and I rented the house for our brother and sister-in-law, who were visiting San Francisco for the first time. Trying to be good hosts, we had planned a full schedule of sightseeing for the week they were here, but they were so in love with the house that they requested a couple of nights in so that they could cook, entertain, relax, make use of the great entertainment center, and just relax.

The owners and their agent, Marie, were very accommodating (I wanted to go in early on the check-in date to stock the refrigerator, and they graciously let me), and they checked in before check-in to make sure we had everything we needed, and then after the stay to make sure everything was to our liking.

Why stay in a stuffy, overpriced hotel when you have somewhere like this in San Francisco?

Nice stay in S.F.

Hello, we enjoyed rent this appartment in S.F. wich is very well furnished and decorated. It was very clean and friendly. The only negative point in the whole appartment is the only bathroom located in a room ( if you are more than 3 people ). We did use the BBQ without any problem of neighbourood and appreciate the large kitchen. The trolley line and subway are at five minutes walk and the area is surprising and "folklorique". Voila, nothing else to notice, good stay, good holiday. Thanks.

Everything we needed for our family holiday

We stayed in July 2011 and were very pleased with both the house and the owners. The house was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We spent all the nights in cooking dinner and the kitchen was stocked with all the pots/utensils/serving dishes we needed. The location was handy to the Muni station which is about a 5 minute walk downhill from the house.

We travelled with a 9 month old child and found this house to be very child friendly. The open plan allowed our wee man to crawl between rooms and there wasnt too much to cause any bother. We were a little apprehensive about a previous review (regarding the noise level for tenant living below the kitchen),especially as we were travelling with a baby but our encounter with the neighbour was very friendly and he even very kindly finished our load of clothes washing (the washing/drying machine is located in the garage and shared between the houses).

The owner, Marie, was very accommodating to us when upon arrival, we discovered there wasnt a travel cot which we expected. Marie quickly sorted this out and a few hours later we had a cot delivered and set up in the house (and this was a Friday night).

One thing that would have been useful are directions to the house from the airport as we trekked about quite a bit (and its pretty hilly!). From the airport you get the Bart to Civic Centre station, then hop onto the Muni subway on lines K, L or M to Castro. At Castro you walk up (yes, the hill) market street for about 5 minutes and house is on the left side.

Very helpful and accommodating and we couldnt have picked a better place for our stay. I would definately use the accommodation again.

A Welcome Retreat in trying times

I stayed at this home for 2 weeks as my son recovered from surgery at the nearby UCSF hospital. It was very easy to get around town either by car or public transportaion. The house was very tastefully decorated and the kitchen was well stocked to prepare home cooked meals. I live in the suburbs and thought it might be noisy to live in the city, but it was very quiet inside the apartment. This apartment had every creature comfort you might want and then some.

Beautiful Castro Home

This was a beautiful home, and overall our stay was wonderful. The home is comfortable and inviting, with everything you could want or need. The home entertainment system is super complicated, but that's not that big of a deal. Except for the fact that the speakers that no longer work are probably due to the unhappy neighbor who lives below that I will continue to refer to, This is NOT the place to stay if you have children. The person who lives below the flat is very intolerant of children and the noises they make. We took great care to ensure that he would not be bothered(he complained to us after we were in the home for only an hour), and he came and rang the bell numerous times to let us know that he was being "driven crazy". The kitchen is large, beautiful and fully equipped, however, you cannot really enjoy the kitchen space freely. You must always be conscious about the intolerant neighbor downstairs who lives directly below the kitchen. Becasue of this I would not recommend this property for anyone wanting to have any sort of "fun" in the house. Now that I think of it, the property listing boast a grill for use on the upstair deck, and a heated outdoor zen garden. These spaces are not for your enjoyment either, as the neigbor is also unaccepting of any sort of noise in these common areas. I am actually a resident of San Francisco, and was staying here because family was visiting. As a resident of this city you must be tolerant of noises from your neighbors. We are all stacked on top of each other for goodness sakes.Stay here if you visit the city and want to feel like you are in your own home. But, only if you DO NOT have children and you aren't planning to have fun at home. This is also not a place to have a girls weekend, or any other social type engagement.

Great place

This place is just great!!!! It is well furnished with all the necessary household amenities provided. The booking process was quick and easy and all queries were responded to on the same day. The location of the apartment is also a bonus ... close to the MUNI (less than a 5 min walk) or the street car if you wanted to go overground and take in the views of San Fran.

Castro is on your doorstep, but you are away from the noise and busyness of the Castro bars. The Mission and Dolores Park are less than a 30 min walk if you want something different. All in all a fantastic place to stay and I will be booking this apartment again on my next visit to San Fran.

Lovely stay!

This place couldn't have been more charming. The pictures are an accurate depiction of what you're renting. The bedrooms are spacious and nicely appointed. Everything was clean upon arrival. There were fresh flowers as well. The house was fully equipped and more stocked than we expected. We absolutely loved the place. The place is within walking distance to all major modes of transportation (BART, bus), however I was traveling with my mother who can't walk very well. She had trouble with the hills and the stairs (probably a little too far of a walk for someone with knee/leg problems). Also, the garage was hard to back out of. Fine for us, as we used public transportation instead (SO glad we didn't have to worry about parking). There is one bathroom, which we all shared (5 hot showers back to back!!!). Yes, it is in the master bedroom, but we did not have a problem with it. We found the front door to be tricky to unlock, however the property manager was able to help us obtain entry. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip!! I loved it.

Great House and Location!

My partner and I stayed in the house for a month from July 7th to August 7th, 2010. We love the house and the location. The house was beautifully furnished and the kitchen was terrific. I cooked dinner many evenings and took advantage the fully stocked spacious kitchen. We were impressed by the condition of the house, which was very clean and well maintained. The house was close to public transportation; we often used the 33 and 37 bus lines, which were only one and a half blocks away from the house. Timing is important since they run about every 30 minutes but that is easily found on the Muni website. Also, two Zip Cars are the same distance from the house (on Hattie Street) which was convenient for our drives down to Carmel, Monterey and our quick trips to the grocery store. The Castro was only a short walk from the house.Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, the Haight, Cole Valley, Pacific Grove and other San Francisco communities are all easily access by bus and train. We will definitely plan to rent this house again next summer -- maybe for two months next time. The only negative thing is that the bathroom can only be accessed through a bedroom. This is a bit awkward and inconvenient. Finally, Marie was my contact throughout my rental. She was very helpful and always got back to be quickly. Excellent house! I would definitely recommend renting this house while in San Francisco.

What a beautiful place! This was a great alternative to staying in a hotel. Six of us comfortably stayed here for a few days. Fun neighborhood with restaurants and night life a few blocks away. We loved having a garage and being close to public transportation. The only downside is that you have to walk through a bedroom to access the bathroom.
