House, 4 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8)

This family owned vacation home is only ten years old with many premium features providing that luxurious vacation or get away on beautiful 20+ mile long Lake Leelanau. The home is available year-round and has air conditioning. The shoreline on this part of Lake Leelanau has a nice sandy bottom.

Lake Leelanau is an all sports lake for swimming, boating, water skiing, and great fishing for walleye and bass. The lake depth at shore is shallow about 15 inches deep with great swimming for kids - the lake depth gets about waist deep at the end of our 190 foot private dock. The house is suited and equipped for all ages of the family - for the seniors that don't like a lot of steps; the get-away for couples that include some nice luxury features; and amenities for the kids such as the sand box, sand toys and shallow water with a nice firm sandy lake bottom.

The cottage is perpendicular to the lake providing lake views from half of the home including the kitchen and island, family room area and master bedroom. There is a large glass slider off the kitchen that leads onto the large deck on the lake side. Patio furniture and table along with the gas grill are on the deck. The cottage is less than 100 feet from the water's edge.

There is a fire pit just a few yards from the lake. The cottage is located on a private road away from traffic and a nice environment for the kids away from traffic.

The cottage has four bedrooms and sleeps eight. The master bedroom has a king size bed, private bathroom, HD television/Direct TV with slider onto deck. One bedroom has a queen bed. One bedroom has twin beds which can be made up into a king. One of the bedrooms has a television and Blue-ray for games. One smaller bedroom has bunk beds.

The kitchen is fully equipped. There is a separate laundry room. No Smoking. No Pets, local kennel is only 20 minutes away. The waterfront cottage is just a short drive from Lake Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park, Shopping at Glen Arbor, Leland, Lake Leelanau, Suttons Bay, Traverse City. Golf is nearby at Sugar Loaf, Leelanau Club, or Kings Challenge Golf Course. Two Casinos - Leelanau Sands Casino in Suttons Bay and Turtle Creek Casino in Williamsburg.

Many sightseeing opportunities throughout the entire county, many local wineries and restaurants available. Laptop computer provided with high speed internet access and wireless available. Great get-away for family vacation, color tour, skiers, hunting, snowmobilers, fishermen, golf, shoppers, and gamblers.

In the winter, snowmobiles are available for rent. You can take your boat to the towns of Lake Leelanau, Leland, or Cedar for excellent dining, sight-seeing or shopping. Gas service for your boat is available at several locations on the lake. During the summer, a pontoon boat is available for rent and available at the dock. There is a public boat launch within a couple of blocks of the house. If you bring your own boat it can be tied to the dock.

Our July, 2011 vacation was very memorable! This rental property supersedes ones' expectations. The accommodations are beautiful and very clean with lots of ammenities. My grandchildren enjoyed all the many flat screen TV's. The dock is exceptional and swimming area crystal clear. The deck is surrounded by many pots of gorgeous flowers. This quiet retreat is truly a gem!

This was a family vacation with our adult sons and their wives. Our six month old grandchild also enjoyed the house. It is everything the reviews say it is. Peaceful, convenient, stocked and beautiful. Lake Leelanau is a well kept secret. One of the nicest lakes ever! The six hour commute was well worth the clean lake and clean air. Don't think twice.

A Lovely Home on a Beautiful Lake

My wife and I rented this lovely home for four nights in late September and had a terrific time. The home is located on the western shoreline toward the south end of Lake Leelanau and this part of the lake seems very quiet and offers beautiful sunrises.

The home itself is located such that there are nice views from the kitchen, family room and master bedroom suite. There is a beautiful deck overlooking the lawn and lake. The setting is just beautiful. The house is well laid out and the owner has made it comfortable for just about anyone. I require a broadband internet connection to stay in touch and the wireless network worked flawlessly with very good throughput speeds and a solid connection for our entire stay. The home and grounds were clean and well-maintained.

This was the seventh rental we have arranged through VRBO (beginning in 2005) and we have been satisfied with all seven. Larry, however, was the first owner to take the initiative to call us during our stay to ensure everything was to our satisfaction and answer any questions we might have -- a very nice touch.

I would definitely recommend this home to friends.

Perfect spot on South Lake Leelanau

This was our first week spent on Lake Leelanau and we will be coming back every year if possible. The owners were a pleasure to coordinate with from the beginning of our inquiry through our stay and even the rebooking process. The house itself is very well apppointed and maintained, spotless actually and included many amenities perfect for a family vacation including water toys, a kayak and a kitchen stocked with all the items you could need for the week. The location and lake were so beautiful we barely left the backyard or dock all week. There is a very nice dock with a perfect spot to anchor a boat along with an extensive shallow area for the kids to play, kayak and hunt for minnows and crawfish.


The photos on the website do not accurately convey how incredible the house or lake setting truly are. Nearby Cedar is very small but charming and has a nice restaurant and a couple small markets and butcher shops so you don't have to go far for the basics. We loved being off the beaten path but still a quick 20 minutes drive to Traverse City.

Incredible Lake Lelanau Property

We had an excellent vacation. We actually brought up to much stuff as the home had almost everything you need. The dock is incredible and has a great hangout area with steps into the water. It is close to the town of Cedar, so it took 5 minutes to go to the store. It is on a great spot on the lake with the boat ramp about 300 yards away. We caught perch, walleye, bass, and northern pike on the lake. Our 6 year old spent the time catching crayfish. It was such a relaxing week with the runs to Leland, Empire , and all the wineries. It is such a beautiful place and area.

Wonderful vacation home

This is the second summer we have rented this beautiful vacation home on Lake Leelanau. The lake is very clear, clean with sandy bottom. The fact that it is very shallow makes it ideal for our young grandchildren who visited us. When they're not in the lake, they're in the sandbox. The house is beautifully appointed with all the amenities of home and is very well laid out. A beautiful, large deck overlooks the lake, yard and sandbox area. Our family enjoyed the beautiful northern Michigan area and we would highly recommend this home as a rental!

The minute we walked into the house , we new it would be the perfect setting for our family's week of celebrating our parents 50th wedding anniversary. Everything is very clean and comfortable. The master suite has its own bath, sliders to the deck, and a huge flat screen above the bed that was perfect for my dad to go watch the Tiger's! The open floor plan was great for everyone to be together. Some cooked, while some played games, and some just lounged outside and enjoyed the beautiful view. There is lots of outdoor seating, and even though the weather wasn't that great, we found plenty of reasons to hang out on the dock. We would start the day w/ a cup of coffee on the bench and end it watching the shooting stars or around the fire pit. Everything you need to cook is also available– lots of space, pots and pans, a great grill, an island in the kitchen, a large stainless fridge. We all seriously think that if the house hadn't been so nice, we wouldn't have enjoyed our time as much because the weather forced us inside a couple of the days. Our parents absolutely loved the house. They've not stopped talking about our time there.Larry was great to work with too! THANK YOU LARRY AND JACKIE FOR YOUR GREAT VACATION COTTAGE!
