This is a special house in a unique location. It is located in a spectacular Vermont setting. The pool is generally between 70 and 80 degrees, and is fabulous for year-round swimming and fun, especially for children. The property provides an excellent location to rejuvenate physically and mentally, in an incredible Vermont setting with unsurpassed mountain and pastoral views.

The house provides an ideal location to experience some of the best things Vermont has to offer. Spring and Summer visitors have quick access to the Green Mountain National Forest and some of the most pristine and spectacular areas that it has to offer. Fall folliage is very intense here. Weather conditions can fluctuate rapidly as the house is located in a valley with tall mountains on two sides. For winter visitors, four wheel drive vehicles are recommended, but not required. You can access to multiple ski areas from this location.

The Mettawee house was originally purchased by the owners as a vacation home. The owners loved the Danby location, and the people were incredibly friendly. The indoor pool was a great feature, that isn't found in many homes - particularly in Vermont! The owners like the property so much that they decided to share it with others so that they could experience the gorgeous setting, incredible views, and unique Vermont experience.

wonderful family getaway

i recently spent a weekend with my children and grandchildren at the vermont pool house....it was perfect...the location is private yet convenient....we played golf and went horsebackriding minutes away...the house has everything you need and is more beautiful than the photos suggest...the kids loved the pool...they all want to make this an annual family event

Owner's Response: We frequently hear from our guests that their kids loved the pool. The pool is located inside an addition to the house, and is great during bad weather days or when you just want to have a day off from other activities. It ranges from four feet deep at the shallow end, to eight feet deep at the other end. There is plenty of seating inside the pool room to keep your eyes on the kids, and the room is surrounded by large windows with excellent views of the fields around the house and Dorset Mountain. In the winter, you can watch the snow fall while you are swimming. In the summer, you can open the sliding glass doors to the decks and patios and gardens that surround the pool room. It's a great place to relax and unwind, whether you are swimming or just watching!

Paradise in Vermont

We stayed at this Danby, Vermont property for a long weekend. Wish it could have been longer,but we were only there for a wedding. We will be back. It was such a comfortable, clean, relaxing home. All the amenities you need. If you bring children (or grown men yearning to watch football), be aware there is no television reception. It didn't bother us! We were overjoyed swimming in the indoor pool, lounging aroung the spacious pool area and playing board games. Definately visit Manchester for shopping and dining. Working out arrangements with Charles for our stay was a breeze. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Beautiful serenity

I stayed in this lovely home with my 4 best girlfriends for a fabulous get-away. We had such a wonderful time enjoying all that this house has to offer!

Everything is in great shape - new kitchen fully equipped for cooking (which we did often!), lovely bedrooms each with their own personality (the master suite is to die-for with a private bathroom), inviting family and living rooms with a toasty fireplace and bookshelves lined with reading and games for all! And the extreme bonuses of the indoor pool and downstairs ping-pong!

The scenery is breathtaking and provided a perfect backdrop for our weekend retreat.

I can't wait to come back!

What a beautiful place....scenery. accomodations, comfort and ease of access were all just perfect. The pool was an added bonus -- such an unusual treat, great for the kids after a day outside. Now that I've seen one season, I can't wait to plan a visit in the other three. The beauty and charm are incomparable. I don't know where I would be able to find another such place.
