Great house- very poor management

We were very disappointed with our stay just over a year ago (this owner has changed the profile name of the listing so that negative reviews would be erased.). The house was not clean when we arrived, in fact the live in manager was downstairs drinking and playng pool with friends. The game room, sauna, and hot tub were all closed off for the first night ("it still needed to be cleaned") while they partied. Also, when contacting one of the owners- he was completely unhelpful and did nothing. Apparently the group before us trashed the place so the hot tub was down for the majority of our stay and we had multiple plumbing issues (toilets overflowing.). Beware- no refunds and guarantee of all rooms in house and amenities being available. Would not recommend based on very bad experience with management after dropping several thousand dollars into our stay. It's a shame- the house has a lot of potential. Former listing of this property was under Lorimer Ridge Lodge.
Owner's Response: The caretaker that was managing Lorimer Ridge Lodge (name has never been
changed since we started advertising with VRBO in 2006) is no longer working
for us. With that said, Kristi Marino is exaggerating the circumstances -
her group arrived 2 ½ hours early - the second and third floors were
prepared and the first floor was being completed at the time of her arrival.
The games room, sauna and hot tub (all part of the first floor) were ready
for the group's usage at their 4 pm check-in time. It is true that two
toilets (of the 11 total toilets) did back up during their stay, a plumber
was called to repair both the same day and did the repairs the same day. One
toilet was not determined why it was backed up and the second was backed due
to a tampon being flushed (it should be noted that this was a couple of days
into this group's stay). It is true that we have a no refund policy this
is aimed at eliminating cancellations. Any amenities that we advertise are
always in proper working condition. Although rare, items due occasionally
break down during guest stays we have a team of repair people in Whistler
that are willing to go the extra mile and make repairs the same day.
Kristi Marino wrote her review over 18 months after her stay. Why she took
so long, I am not certain, but I do recall her not being satisfied after she
had requested a refund and I pointed out to her that the home was ready for
her group at the arrival time of 4 pm and that at least one of the two
toilets were backed due to her group's usage noting that both were
repaired the same day of her complaint. She became very unhappy when I
denied her request for a refund as a basis for one did not exist.
