My son's wedding was at the Emerson and the house was very convenient. My party had 10 adults, and the house was very spacious and well appointed. The openness of the kitchen, dining and living areas made it very comfortable and we really enjoyed the decks. Would stay again!

Great house for family reunion. Grandkids fed the fish, dog swam in the pond. We played games on the front yard, enjoyed the screened in porch after dinner, watched movies, barbecued on the grill and cooked in the kitchen. Kelly was very accomodating. Close to hiking, tubing, some restaurants and Woodstock. Definitely would rent the house again.

We love this house! It's a great base for skiing, snowtubing and other mountain adventures. There's great shopping nearby in Woodstock along with a lot of great restaurants. The house is the perfect place to just relax and hang out with friends This is our 2nd visit and we are already planning next year's trip. The owners are a pleasure to deal with and will make your getaway easy.

My husband and I stayed in this beautiful house for our anniversary last year. The decor was so charming and homey. The location is great...close to Sweet Sues (best pancakes) and Woodstock. We loved being surrounded by woods,sitting in the hammock, making a fire in the fire place, and just relaxing. We would love to stay here again!

We picked this house for our family reunion in this beautiful house in Phoenicia, and we couldn't have made a better choice. The house has three levels with plenty of space for comfortable sleeping as well as socializing in the evenings. It's surrounded by woods and has a nice pond with gold fish (our dogs loved swimming in it!). The property is very well maintained and the owners are a pleasure to deal with. Some highlights of our vacation included: hiking/swimming/fishing at the North/South lakes, tubing at the Esopus Creek, relaxing at the house, and dining at Sweet Sue (just minutes away). I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat.

We recently spent the weekend at this wonderful home for my son's 2nd birthday and had a very special time away! The house is everything you'd expect from a home away from home. The house is huge and could easily accomodate the 8 of us. The house looked beautiful at night with the open fire and candlelights lit throughout, it really looked like a retreat out of a magazine. Kelly was great... a pleasure to deal with and she made us feel so relaxed about staying at the house. I would most definately recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful getaway!

If you want a place that is warm and inviting, has beautiful views, lots of space, is well maintained and is a great place to hang out with friends and family, then you've found it! The house is both spacious and cozy, we all loved it. We visited during winter and we were happy to have plenty of snow. During the day there was skiing or tubing nearby and our evenings were spent playing games or watching tv in front of the fire. A picture perfect winter break! The owner was very accomodating and extremely friendly. We are all looking forward to spending time here in the summer. This is definately a gem!

Visiting the Phoenicia area of New York can be a bit challenging since there are so few accommodations in the area. We were fortunate to locate this property and its wonderful owner through Home Away.com. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. The visit was during Christmas and there was 16" of snow covering the ground. The owners had the driveway plowed and ready for us to enter the property. Upon entering we were greeted by gleaming hardwood floors, a magnificent stone fireplace, beautiful mountain vistas through the many windows and glass doors that all overlooked a huge wooden deck, and the openness of a living space with a vaulted ceiling. The pictures truly fall short of how magnificent this home is. With 3 upstairs bedrooms, 2 upstairs full baths, as well as 2 first floor bedrooms and a first floor full bath - this home can accommodate a huge gathering.

This property would be great for a family reunion getaway to the mountains. Its proximity to the town of Phoenicia gives you dining options that don't require long drives including one of the best breakfast joints on the planet - Sweet Sue's. Skiing and camping are also short drives away and the house sits at the base of Mount Tremper so hiking is right at your doorstep. If you just want to relax there are deck chairs and hammocks that, I'm sure if it wasn't 36 degrees when we visited, we would have spent time getting to enjoy.

I had to do a little work while there and was pleased to find high speed internet access available for my laptop. Beware that there is no printer for your use, however. The office in which the internet access is located also has a beautiful view of the surrounding trees and mountains, making it tough to concentrate on work, though.

I have used Home Away.com as well as other rental-by-owner sites for travel over the last 5 years and really feel that we came across a gem with this house - I would highly recommend it to everyone I know.
