About Marina

Me and my husband live in the beautiful country between Florence and Siena with our two Great Danes . Our two children 'left the nest': the girl lives in Florence, the boy studies in Scotland. Rent the apt. gives us the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and find new friends.

Marina purchased this apartment in 2012
Why Marina chose Historic Center

We bought this little apt. in 2011 and we renewed it at all in 2012. We belive that now it is cosy just like a nest. We love to share it with tourists who like to visit Florence and find peace and calm after a day of sightseen. The district is amazing, full of life, with the near Market of S.Ambrogio and many restaurants and bars. It is out from the tourists crowd, but in a walking distance from the main Monuments. It is inside the restricted area for traffic, but there are paying parking nearby.

What makes this apartment unique

We had many guests many of them came back, many became friends. All of them feel at home, because the apt. is cosy, comfortable, well equipped, bright and quiet. All of them love the near Market of S.Ambrogio, because they can find all kind of goods and sellers are very friendly.

My girlfriend and I had a lovely time staying at Marina's apartment in Florence. Everything was clean, comfortable, and homey during our five night stay. At only a ten-minute walk from the Duomo and about the same from the river, the apartment's pretty conveniently located: We walked most places without any trouble, and were glad to have a home base that wasn't too farflung from the things we wanted to see. We'd happily recommend the apartment to couples interested in a lovely getaway!

This a gem in Florence! A perfect place for couples -- cozy, quiet, romantic, warm & welcoming. Excellent location with lovely rooftop views, central to everything. There's a kitchenette that's nicely-stocked with pots/pans etc to use after trips to the fresh markets that are all nearby.
Marina is a great host! She provided us with a delicious bottle of local wine, lots of recommendations, and arranged a taxi pick up for us back to the airport. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, especially if you want something different -- it's cheaper than a hotel, you'll have more flexibility & independence, and you get a big slice of Florentine charm :)

I enjoyed my stay in this wonderful, cozy apartment. The apartment was nicely decorated and furnished and had all of the necessary amenities for my week long stay. Furthermore, the apartment was in a good location and it was easy to reach important sites. The owner was very helpful and was always available for questions regarding travel arrangements, restaurant recommendations, etc. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone staying in Florence.

The goal of my month in Florence was to get a better appreciation of the life of a local. I'm sure my time there would not have been as wonderful if I hadn't had Marina's apartment as my 'homebase.' Having never used homeaway.com before I had some uncertainty as to what to expect. From our first point of contact up until the end of my time at her place, Marina was nothing but helpful and courteous. The apartment is in a great location- within walking distance of everything- yet in a neighborhood without tourists. The space itself is modern, clean, and tastefully decorated. Wifi and heat were definite prerequisites for me and there were no issues. An added bonus was hearing the bells of the Duomo and Santa Croce (both within view upstairs). I hope that if I try homeaway.com again, I will find a place of similar quality and an owner nearly as nice as Marina. Grazie mille!

There is very little that I could add to the references that have already been left, Marina's place is wonderful!

I stayed for close to 3 weeks at her apartment during the Christmas holidays and New Year. It was very clean and so beautifully decorated, it's hard not feel immediately at home. Well-equipped and whatever wasn't there that you might need, she was quick to provide you with.

Situated in a great location in Florence, it was easy to walk wherever you needed to go and nearby there was plenty of choice for food and drinks. Marina values the personal touch, she was there to greet me and she left a bottle of wine to be enjoyed and she checked in a few days to ensure that everything was fine.

This was the perfect place to stay to celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year. Thank you, Marina.

We were fortunate to have called this lovely apartment our home for 31 days. We were more then pleased with the very quiet location over looking the roof tops with a clear view of the Duomo from one window and Santa Croce church from another.
The comfort of the home along with the stylish furniture, decorations and the beautiful atmosphere just outside it's windows, make this apartment a true romantic place to call home while in Florence. In addition a very nice open air produce market as well as a full size supermarket, are both only within a 2 to 3 minute walk. Marina (the owner) was a very kind and helpful hostess. She met us at the home when we arrived with a smile and a very warm welcome. She also made us the kind gift of a very nice bottle of local red wine that we enjoyed on our first night. We had absolutely no issues or problems during our stay. On two or three occasions, I emailed Marina with minor questions and also a request to help us book a taxi, each time she was quick to respond and help.We travel very often, that being said we would not think of staying anywhere else when we come back to visit this amazing and beautiful city! Thank you again Marina))). Jerry & Anna

Absolutely lovely split-level apartment, incredibly welcoming after a long day's sightseeing and eating gelato. The apartment is newly done and we found it fully equipped - and had no problems at all with anything at all.

Location: The apartment is tucked away on the back streets just a few minutes walk from Santa Croce, one of the most beautiful churches in Florence, which has the added benefit of being a couple of minute's from the best gelato in Florence - Vivandi! The piazza Ghiberti is also just a few minutes walk, where you'll find a great market - great for buying home-made pasta, meats, fresh fruit & vegetables and bread etc, as well as good restaurants (including pizzanuole for good pizza). In fact, we enjoyed exploring this area of Florence that we didn't get anyway near the Duomo and Baptistry until our third and fourth day there!

Marina was great, met us on arrival and gave us recommendations for the local wine shop, markets and places to eat - and very kindly left us a bottle of tasty Tuscan red wine!

We thoroughly recommend Marina's apartment - a very relaxing space, perfect walking distance from all of the main sites and districts (even south of the river) of Florence and - what we really valued - we were away from the noisy crowds of tourists. AND, you get glimpses of Santa Croce and the Duomo from the two large windows in the upstairs kitchen/lounge area.

We found some absolutely gems in Florence - a few of which we wrote in Marina's guest book - but you'll have to go to Marina's apartment to find out what they are!

Marina's apartment was absolutely wonderful. A perfect mix of luxury and home comforts. The location near Santa Croce is fantastic. You are within a 10-15 minute walk of just about everywhere, but you are on a street away from crowds and tourists. As someone who is very hygiene conscious, i was very pleased with the cleanliness of the apartment when I arrived and found that the luxuries of the apartment (air conditioning, wifi, and the spectacular view) were all top notch. The bed, like all he furniture, was very comfortable, clean, and inviting. The third floor walk-up can be tough if you have heavy luggage, so just be prepared. The view of Sanata Maria Del Fiore completely makes it worth it though. In the vicinity of the apartment you have a supermarket, a Vodafone store, several pizzerias, great bars, and a lovely beauty salon just doors away. Communicating with Marina was very easy and pleasant. She is kind and very conscientious about responding to e-mails quickly and as helpfully as possible. I will definitely be staying at this apartment the next time I am in Florence. The only down-side to the apartment is that you won't want to leave.

Brilliantly and tastefully designed for a couple.

Marina's place was flawless. It is in a great spot. Brilliantly and tastefully designed for a couple. It had everything for cooking and was a nice place to retreat from the heat and relax in the aircon away from the midday Florence heat. Great restaurants and markets just moments away. Try Cibreo's trattoria wing for affordable great fine food (not the upscale restaurant) and PizzaMan (just meter's away) for simple tasty pizza. Marina was great and thorough and thoughtful. The bottle of wine on arrival was a nice touch. I'm a designer and I was totally impressed by the interior layout and feel of the apartment. Can't recommend enough...

THE BEST!!!!!!

The moment I arrived at my lodging in Milan I started missing Marina's lovely nest in Florence, my previous stop during my three-week treking in Europe. No comparison!

I have used HomeAway for accomodations in London, San Francisco, New York, etc., and Marina's place is THE BEST!!!! Honestly everything is perfect! Marina's place is BRAND NEW, tastefully decorated, exquisite, central (within walking distance to all major landmarks) but very quite because her apartment does not face the street. A peaceful oasis to come back to from the hustle and bustle of the excitement of sightseeing. I loved every single minute of staying there!

Marina is also THE BEST host -- she welcomed us with a bottle of Chianti, was very responsive, helped us reserve our taxis to the airport and to the train station, and provided wonderful recommendations for places to eat ...

Thank you Marina -- your place will be my future standard in seeking a Homeaway lodging, but I am a little afraid that no other place can compare!
