The ambience of “South Wind on the Ocean” Resort and our condo in particular, is an important element in your rental decision. A discriminating renter would ask, “Is this 2nd floor South Wind condo a good match for me, my family and/or my friends?” Here is what we would offer for your consideration;
LOCATION-We are located at the north end of the Golden Mile. The location is primarily expensive residential beach homes. There are no tattoo parlors or gaudy beach stores in the neighborhood. The pace is slower, there are fewer people around and the absence of commercialization is striking. Loud partying and other disturbances are frowned upon and are cause for your premature departure from South Wind. This resort is an escape to quiet living; a family friendly resort. But you are a few minutes from all the activity and commercialism you want, when you want it. You can get a good night’s rest here and wake to the sights and sounds of the pounding surf.
FURNISHINGS-You should think of this condo as a home, not as a hotel/motel room or even a typical rental property. It is roomy, luxurious and comfortable with top-of-the-line furniture and appointments. It is a virtual art gallery with (15) beautiful wall-hung prints. The entire condo is tastefully color coordinated as is obvious from our photos.
CONVENIENCE-Parking is actually a few steps from the condo and on the same level. You don’t have to pay for parking, don’t have to cross a busy street after you park your car, don’t need shuttling to and from a parking garage, don’t need valet parking and you don’t need to unload at the resort and park some distance away.
There are no gates hampering your entrance or exit from the resort. There are no parking garages that circle you around again and again, before paying and exiting. No parking passes, no swimming pool passes, no beach passes and no exercise room passes are required. The condo is entered using a touch pad code, so no keys are required for your entire vacation. Also, you shouldn’t need the elevator. One flight of steps down and you are on ground level with swimming pool and beach access.
THE VIEW-There is a beautiful direct view of the beach and ocean from our 2nd floor condo, where you can actually see people on the beach and around the swimming pool. The people, including your own family members, are not distant specks viewed from a condo in the sky. The balcony is not a high, scary, dangerous place to use, but a safe, relaxing and welcoming place to see and hear the ocean surf. It is a balcony that takes the worry out of losing your child to an unfortunate accident. It is a balcony where you can keep an eye on your kids and speak to them while they swim in the pool just below you.

South Wind on the Ocean is located at 5310 N. Ocean Blvd. on the 'Golden Mile' of the Grand Strand. The Golden Mile is the least congested/most desired location in Myrtle Beach, featuring large/exclusive oceanfront rental homes. South Wind is located just minutes from among other sites, Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach, Tanger Outlets, Carolina Opry, 1650 restaurants and 120 golf courses.
Oceanfront sophistication best describes the South Wind resort. As you enter this condo, expect stunning professionally decorated furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere in your 3BR/3BA oceanfront condo that offers spectacular direct oceanviews from the huge balcony accessed from both the living room and master bedroom. The unit is in keeping with the exquisite entrance area and courtyard featuring lavish landscaping that showcases reflecting pools with fountains and the striking Mediterranean architecture at the resort's streetside entrance. Parking at South Wind is located directly in front of the building. Two level parking is attached to the resort with an abundance of spaces. Each unit is allotted two parking spaces on the upper level of the parking garage.
The condo has almost 1900 SF of luxury featuring 8-1/2 ft high ceilings, tray ceilings, granite counter tops throughout all the kitchen/baths, ceramic tile flooring in the entry,kitchen, baths and dining area. Insulated double stud walls between condominiums dramatically reduces noise transmission. The master suite boasts a roomy walk-in closet, a private linen closet and a spacious private bathroom complete with a lavish double vanity, walk-in shower and whirlpool garden tub. The beach/ocean is an impressive sight from your king-size master suite bed as you awake from a great night's sleep. The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and a twin-size day bed plus an adjoining bathroom. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed with a bathroom located just outside its door. I was born in Pottsville, PA and moved to Camp Hill, PA in my early years. We moved to Toledo, OH after WWII, where I attended Fulton Elementary School for (8) years and (1) year at Scott High School. My father's work transferred us to Syracuse, NY where I finished high school at Syracuse Central. I graduated from Dartmouth College and spent (2) years in the U.S. Navy as a Civil Engineer Corps officer at the Naval Weapons Lab in Dahlgren, VA. After the service, I worked for Carrier Air Conditioning Co. in Syracuse, NY for (7) years before operating a business in Toledo, OH called Folding Equipment Co. that sells furniture and equipment to K-12 schools in Northwest Ohio. I'm happily married with a grown son and daughter plus (7) grandchildren. We attend Christ the Word Church (PCA) where we are active members.
We bought this property for the purposes of passing it down to future generations of our family. We liked its South Carolina location in a residential area, its lower floor level and ease of parking, its furnishings, its quality construction and appointments, and its size/roominess.
