Found this cool place by sheer good luck. We booked the day before due to a last minute vacation situation. We (2 families) stayed the week and had perfect weather all 7 days. The beach is much wider now then as shown. The tree roots in the water are now part of a cool beach landscape that's great for pictures. The house comes with a center console boat that you have to use to get anywhere. There are plenty of places to go but you don't really want to leave. You can pull the boat around to the beach in about 5 minutes and anchor up. You can fish either side or in the pass. You pretty much have the beach to yourself and do as you please. We saw manatee's and dolphins every day, osprey's, rays, sharks, lot's of fish, great shells and even a bobcat the first morning. No cable, only a few channels, but none of us cared as we hardly had it on. No internet either, which is an adjustment, but turns out to be a good thing! House is nice and as pictured. Great open living room with good views of beach and sunsets. 3 T.V.'s., DVD player and stereo. Good gas grill. Nice kitchen. Great beach porch that's screened and back screened porch too. Nice open upper deck for sunsets too. Only negatives were no-see-um biting bugs at dusk and dawn (only) and you'll need bug spray if out at that time. Also, the house runs on solar in the day and generator at night which causes some background noise, especially in room where power panel is. More like a louder "white" noise. You need to bring most of your provisions with you, but can always go back for stuff at little stores near Jensen's and other side of island (by boat). No Publix nearby! No other issues and the owner was available for any problem. The owner Lars and all the guys at Jensen's marina were very nice and helpful. They even let you run a tab at Jensen's like the old days. We visited Boca Grande and Cabbage Key for lunch and boated around the islands. Also the Tweens Lodge has a good lunch and you can go swimming in their pool while you wait, only 5 minutes from Jensen's. I'd highly recommend this home if you want to get away from it all and have some space to yourself. Plenty for kids and adults to do outside, and stay busy in a safe environment where you don't have to worry about others. Our kids loved it. Be advised that you have to be a little adventurous and flexible as you are isolated from the public (and internet) and can only arrive by your boat. We recommend it and hope to go back again!
