Only 20 minutes from Ft Collins and Colorado State University. Enjoy either the Guest House or the Main House or both at 7000 feet nestled into the hillside facing Grey Rock Mountain, the Mummy Range and the Roosevelt National Forest.
Eagles Nest Ranch is a working cattle ranch and situated on more than thirteen hundred acres of rolling hills, meadows and rock cliffs with breathtaking views of the Roosevelt National Forest, Grey Rock Mountain and the Mummy Range. The name sake, Eagles Nest Mountain, sits on the west side of the property just a few hundred yards from the main house and promises to provide you with hours of entertainment watching the Eagles soar. The ranch includes the Larimer County Eagles Nest Open Space including more than 755 acres of pristine pasture, miles of horse and walking trails and two miles of the North Fork of the Poudre River.
The final piece of the ranch is the famous Grey Rock Meadow consisting of 160 private acres located on the Poudre Trail at the base of the Grey Rock Mountain in the middle of the National Forest offering access to more than 800,000 acres.
The main house towers three stories with glass from top to bottom with amazing views from every room of Grey Rock and the Mummy Range. The House will accommodate ten comfortably in four bedrooms, a large den and four baths and three stone fire places. Relaxing on either of the decks is a perfect day no matter what the weather. The upper deck extends the entire length of the house (nearly 80 feet) and sits you on top of the world. The lower stone outdoor living space is twice as big and includes a large hot tub and gas fire pit.
The guest cottage includes three bedrooms and one bath and will accommodate six comfortably and has room for eight. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and one has bunk beds for two people, but another can be added for two more. The living room and kitchen are situated with views of the National Forest, Grey Rock Mountain and the Mummy Range and include a few of the trophies harvested from the property. The home is built from heavy timber and has a large stone wood burning fireplace in the living room.
The deck extends the entire width of the cottage and overlooks the riding arena, a valley, the cliff leading to the river and Grey Rock in the distance.
There are multiple pastures, a stable and outdoor riding arena if you would like to bring horses. The main ranch and Open Space have miles of riding trails. Unfortunately, our horses are all working horses and not for rent. ATV's are welcome on the main ranch on the trails and roads. If you are a real hiker, you may want to hike the Poudre Trail all the way to the top of Grey Rock Mountain and camp the night in your private Meadow at the base of the mountain. Or; hike down to the North Fork of the Poudre for fishing and dinner.
The ranch manager lives on the property on the north end and is available for emergencies and information about the ranch and the area.
Come stay with us for the experience of a lifetime.
