The home is designed with the sophisticated traveler in mind. Uniquely situated along Sligo Creek, you'll feel as though you're out in the country yet 15 minutes from downtown Washington DC and the Capitol.

Gorgeous hiking trails are just steps away offering a meandering path along Sligo creek.

The home has 4000 sq ft with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Three bedrooms have king Tempur-pedic mattresses, the 4th bedrooms has a very comfortable pillow top queen mattress. The 5th bedroom is a great room for the kids with 4 full size comfy beds.

Perfect House for Family Vacation

My fiance's family absolutely loved this house when they stayed for a week in late April to attend our wedding and do some sightseeing in DC. There were several sisters, spouses and their children who found it wonderful to be able to stay together in this beautiful setting and share meals and socialize in a way they could not have done in a hotel. The house was clean, spacious and very comfortable, with a great kitchen and hot tub. Also, there was a slumber room and a big yard for the kids to play in. The accessibility to metro made it easy for everyone to see DC sights, which was enjoyable for all and educational for the kids. The experience here has inspired everyone to take this kind of family vacation together every few years.

We are frequent VRBO renters and this was by far our favorite home we have ever rented. The location was perfect just outside all of the noise of DC but close enough to get into town easily to see the sites. The level of comfort and number of amenities surpass other homes where we have stayed. We recommend taking the trolley to jump on and off for touring! Downtown Silver Spring has lots of great restaurants and the kids loved the outdoor ice skating rink. The owner was very responsive and offered a lot of great suggestions. I highly recommend this home away from home.

Our family of 8 all agree this was our favorite home we have rented as a family. I wish we had more time to stay and enjoy the house! We loved the huge TV's, hot tub and especially the beds and bedding. My Mom loved the heated toilet seat, and the kids loved the massage chair. You've thought of every comfort! Thank you for all of your suggestions and help in making our stay special. If there were 6 stars I would rate this home higher!

Great stay for Cherry Blossom Festival

We all visited DC to show my grandmother the cherry blossom festival. The home was much nicer and more comfortable than the photos show. The home is plenty roomy for a family of 10. The neighborhood is beautiful. We had a great stay and would highly recommend this property.

Perfect place to stay for a large family!

This was my first using VRBO and the bar has been set high for future rentals. My family, parents, and in-laws all stayed at the house and there was plenty of room to spread out. The house exceeded our expectations.
The pictures do a great job of accurately reflecting the appearance and condition of the house. The beds were wonderful! My husband and I can never agree on a matress and both loved the beds in the house.

Everything that we needed was there. All the condiments, spices, etc were available and we had everything we needed to make dinner everynight. We had Ledo's pizza one night and it was a hit with all, young and old.

The drive to the Metro was quick and easy with plenty of parking nearby. The neighborhood was quiet and a nice break from downtown.

If we ever had to visit the DC area again, we would stay here. Thanks Linda!

Perfect Family Home

Our family of 5 stayed at Sligo Creek Manor for two weeks over the Christmas holidays and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have rented many homes from VRBO and this ranks as a favorite. Linda was a joy to work with (she even put up a Christmas tree to make it special for us!). The house is well equipped with spices, condiments and everything else a cook would need so that made it great when we wanted to make dinner at home. The beds....oh the beds. I could go on and on but suffice it to say that after our return home we ordered the same sheets(they put Heavenly Beds to shame) and mattresses. They were THAT good. With plenty of space for everyone it was easy to relax and feel like it was our home. She has a great selection of family games, the hot tub was awesome and the grill is top of the line. If you are a runner or simply want a beautiful place to walk then this is the house for you. A block down the hill you can get on the Sligo Creek trail and it goes for miles along the beautiful tree lined creek. Wow. We wish we had something like that our our back door.
You do need a car if you are staying here but we found it easy to drive the mile and a half to the metro, park and then utilize that to get downtown. We still drove to a few places (Mt. Vernon, Middleburg) but the metro was simple and far easier than trying to find a parking spot! A few must do's if you stay here: The Kitchen Bar is a fantastic restaurant in Silver Spring and not to be missed. The Takoma Park Farmer's Market was great-I find them wherever we travel and this one was excellent (sorry Silver Spring, there's is better and only a mile or so from the house!). We will always remember our family time at this lovely home. Thanks for sharing with us Linda!

Wonderful Experience

We have stayed at many VRBO's when we travel with our entire family and this was one of our best experiences! The owner is very kind and very quick to respond to inquiries or concerns. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and very clean (the whole house was so clean!). The bedroom and bathroom set up worked so well - the house uses its space perfectly. The house was perfect for our group of several adults and children - all with separate needs. There were babies that needed to nap, children who needed to play (the backyard was great!), and an adult with a severe medical condition that needed peace and everyone found the space for what they needed. We even entertained friends from in town and it went so smoothly. I have since stayed in another VRBO in another state and it was lousy in comparison. Thanks so much - it was a great vacation!

What an Excellent Property

Our family (Mom, Dad, Children and Grandchildren) has been renting larger homes (sleeping +/- 12) for the week of Thanksgiving for over 10 years, and this one is one of the best. It is beautifully located and maintained, has an excellently equipped kitchen, and contains amenities not often found in other rentals. The owner was readily available to answer any questions we had and provided much appreciated information about the local area prior to our visit. A great experience for our family!!
