We LOVED the house, it was very comfortable, clean and beautifully decorated. The location is great, it's close to everything, restaurants, stores and the waterfront. The owner welcomed us and was available for any questions about the house and places to visit, she was super! Hopefully, we will go back to St. Peters for another visit in the future..

Our family of 5 ( ages 11 to 65 ) stayed for 2 weeks in this beautiful vintage home which is furnished with comfortable beds and a modern kitchen. Located just off the main street in St Peter's, we were able to walk to
stores, restaurants and pubs. Whether relaxing and exploring locally at Michaud Beach, Isle Madame, Big Pond, Dundee, or taking day trips to Baddeck, Louisbourg, Sydney, Cheticamp , we found St Peter's a good location to access most activities.
The owner was available and provided us with a clean and comfortable home away for home.
Recommendations: Fortress at Louisbourg, Alexander Graham Bell Museum, in Baddeck; Whale Cruisers in Cheticamp, Glenore Distillery .
Visit the local shops and restaurants in St Peter's ( we thought the menu at Bras D'Or Inn looked pricey so we went for a drink and dessert and enjoyed live Jazz in the main dining room) ; taste Digby fried clams in Arichat on Isle Madame; sample local ice cream and fish at Chubby's on Grenville Street; buy fish at Lobster 'R Us ( suggest drawing a map for guests as we had trouble finding the wharf).
Reviews:
The celeigh at Bras D'or Inn was disappointing..the venue in the basement was very musty..preferred the upstairs dining room for our evening of jazz. Lunch at Rita's Tea Room was ok..it's just about the experience, especially if you are a fan. I liked the fish and chip lunch at MacBough's but was disappointed with the service at MacDonald's ( although the food was ok ). Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals served at the Red Shoe Pub...Rachel and the kids found a wonderful spot for lunch near Dundee ( ? name...run by a German couple ). Shan and I enjoyed lunch at the Seal Cove restaurant in Louisdale.
I'm a little concerned about recommending food venues as it is so subjective re: price and quality. Some in our group were more fussy than others! We all agree, the best meals were made at Pepperel Street as we took advantage of the gas barbcue, the fire pit and the lovely kitchen.

my husband n 3 children, n 2 brothers n sister in law stayed here for over a week n found it to be a very charming, cozy, clean home. Was walking distance to stores, pubs etc and yet so close to the water with a nice private yard for the kids to run around safely! The house was reasonably priced n had almost everything we needed to stay comfortably. Landlord was very accommodating. We would recommend this rental to others, n hope to go back another year!
