Nicely authentic Spanish apartment with high ceilings and beautiful view on an old church. The apartment is well done with stuff of the second-hand market and furniture designed by the host himself, thank god an apartment without the standard known design furniture. The host was top and we had the best paella with a view on the beach, a quick & dirty tour through Valencia best known buildings and in the evening delicious tappas on plaza de la Reina. The nightlife of Valencia was so good that I unfortunately did not have experienced the fantastic breakfast (according to my friend). I will return certainly again to enjoy more of the Valencia architecture during daytime than I management this time. TOP location in the centre and TOP host, forget about the hotels.

Valencia mansion; perfect in every way!

As soon as you enter Valencia mansion, you know you have come to a very special place. Your hosts Matt and Kaola make you feel at home right away in their gorgeous and comfortable appartment. As you are greeted with champagne and the Bossa Nova is playing in the background, you forget whatever was on your mind and your holiday has started! Valencia Mansion is located perfectly in the heart of the historic city centre, with all Valencia has to offer right at your doorstep. The rooms are decorated tastefully, with stacks of books (the biggest stack I've ever seen!) and magazines to dive into..Warm, welcoming and very clean, the hosts Matt and Kaola go out of their way to make you feel at home. They truelly understand the meaning of hospitality. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is out of this world, with fresh fruits, pastries and, what better way to start your day, champagne!

Don't bother bringing a guide book, because your hosts will know all the best places to eat, shop and hang out...Valencia mansion is a place we will definately return to!

a dream holiday

Not knowing what to expect because 'seeing is believing', we arrived late evening, tired and with no sense of direction.
Kaola opened the door, smiled at us and we were lost for words.

He and Mat drew us in to their home like long lost relatives to the sound of a champagne cork and we realized this is no ordinary B&B.

Everything was immaculate and I felt the apartment should be featured in glossy 'Homes' magazines. With a professional photographer and artist/ writer owning it what else could you expect.

Big fluffy bath towels, a bottle of Chanel No 5 perfume, soap, bottled water in the bathrooms, after 30 minutes we decided we did not want to go home and by the end of our week stay we had decided that if we HAD to go home, then we were surely coming back!

The next day we met fellow guests and were faced with the best breakfast I have experienced, even better than the Rocco Forte Lowry in Manchester. Fresh pineapple, melon, cheeses, ham, hot croissants that Kaola had run down to the local bakers to bring as soon as they were baked, fantastic coffee, orange juice and always the Champagne.

What a joy to sit over breakfast for 2 hours with civilised conversation ranging from the Arts to local tapas bars, from rollerblading and the best places to go to information on places of interest.

And always the feeling of being cherished ...when we came back tired from walking miles and collapsed on the comfy sofa we were covered in wonderful throws and fed tea, coffee and even a bottle of red wine from the 'honesty bar' after a particularly hard days walking.

This is a place a woman travelling alone can happily stay in and feel totally safe and valued. you can't say that about big hotels and some B&Bs!

However customer service like this means that the boys will get booked up quickly so if you want to have an amazing experience then book now!

In planning this trip, my daughter took on the responsibility of finding our accommodations. She couldn't have done better! Despite the late hour of our arrival we were warmly greeted and show the run of the house by a most charming host.
The next morning we sat down to a wonderful breakfast, during which time Matt briefed us on where to go and what to see in the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Valencia. The property is ideally located for exploring the old quarter, the market and squares, as well as an easy walk to the old river bed park and from there to the aquarium. One resto that we enjoyed for evening 'tapas' was the Taverna de la Reina.
The property was very clean, well maintained and wonderfully located in a quiet street just minutes from the Plaza de la Virgen. Having owned a B&B for 16 years, I am a little critical, but I have nothing but praise for this property and it's charming hosts Matt and Kaola.
With luck I will return one day!

Our super stay in Valencia Mansion!

Within the quiet part of the Old Town, Valencia Mansion is situated. A very characteristic location, renovated with style! The guest rooms are charming and comfortable, with your own bathroom, all in marble!
Our breakfasts were super! Anything you might wish was present on the beautifully laid cloth, even champaign!
Mathijs and Kaola, the warm hosts, do their utmost to make your stay unforgettable. They know the best places to go for food, drinks, tapas and advise you about the "must" on sightseeing.
We enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend
this bed and breakfast location. We'll surely come back

Excellent accueil

Review Submitted: September 15, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008

The private room is not very big but very comfortable. The shared loungerooms are excellent. The breakfast had freshly cut melons, pineapple and great warm local bakeruy bread. What a find, with the Cathedral on Plaza de la Virgen at the end of the street. Our stay was perfect!

Charming and lively B&B

Purmerend Amsterdam, Holland
Review Submitted: August 29, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
The Valencia Mansion B&B is a very nice place to stay. The two owners are very kind and gave us good advice for our city visit. The B&B is in 5 minutes walking distance of a neighbourhood that offers many nice squares with cosy cafe's. We also would recommend Valencia as a city for pleople who like architecture ( serveral beautiful old buildings, such as the silk market hall) and who like art-museums.
The beds in the B&B were comfortable, a pratical, but important detail. A super breakfast is offered by the friendly hosts: with fresh bread, fresh fruits and lots of nice cheeses.
