Photos and Description of the Walpole vacation house rental
House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

Situated on a 105-acre working organically managed farm this newly renovated farmhouse is a perfect home away from home. Tranquil setting with amazing views in every season and located in Walpole, New Hampshire, said to be one of the most picturesque towns in all of New England.

On the first floor of the Farmhouse there is a large kitchen, a living room with satellite TV and DVD, a full bathroom, and one bedroom with a king-sized bed. On the second floor are two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed and one with two twin beds, as well as a bathroom with a shower stall. There is a sofa bed in the living room on the first floor which could sleep two additional guests. With southern exposure the rooms are always bright and airy.

This is a self-catering accommodation so breakfast is not included as it is for our B&B guests, but we stock the farmhouse's kitchen with breakfast basics like milk, juice, coffee, tea, cereal, and our own farm fresh eggs to get you started. Farmhouse guests have access to the bounty of our extensive organically managed gardens which include small fruits and a wide variety of herbs, edible flowers and vegetables. Our own pasture-raised meats (100% grass-fed beef and lamb, pork, chicken, turkey) and additional farm fresh eggs are available for purchase.

Relax on the farmer's porch in the late afternoon sun overlooking the fields around us. Play horse shoes or use the wood provided to build a fire in the fire pit. Gas grill with propane and picnic table provided. Swing set/jungle gym, sand box, child toys, pack and plays, baby gates and booster chairs available at no extra cost. Babysitters easily arranged for that much needed adult time.

About Owner/Property Manager

I grew up in Walpole, moved away and never thought I'd be back to this rural community, but now that I'm here raising my family I couldn't imagine a better place to live. Lots of open space, fresh air, starlit skies, interaction with animals and nature and all things 'real'.

Owner/Property Manager purchased this house in 1998
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Walpole

Along with my brother and sister-in-law and my parents we as a family have worked tirelessly since 1998 to bring this dairy farm back to it's former glory. We're passionate about caring for this historic property, raising real food sustainably and providing you with as clean and comfortable a stay as possible.

What makes this house unique

With over 100 acres there are plenty of fields and woodlands to explore - endless stonewalls, century old buildings and barns, extensive flower and vegetable gardens, and beautiful views of the Connecticut River Valley and Green Mountains of Vermont. It's quiet and peaceful and picturesque but easy to get to and close to all the other magnificent little 'gems' the region has to offer.

We stayed at the Sunnyside farmhouse with our 2 kids ages 2 and 5 and the grandparents, and had a great time! We really enjoyed being close up with the animals (I especially loved waking up to see the cows grazing just outside our window, and our kids especially loved the pigs). I liked teaching them where our food comes from and we all learned more about sustainable farming. As a family run inn and farm, we felt very welcomed. Thank you, Jackie and Caitlin! The farmhouse was clean and it was nice to cook most of our meals in the kitchen. We bought chickens and beef raised there on the farm to cook and enjoy! A specialty local market and a bigger supermarket are close by. Our kids also really liked the little playground. The view from the farmhouse of the hills dotted with color and the pastures was beautiful. Alyson's apples being right next door was fantastic. We did a lot of apple picking.
Location wise, I was so pleased. Being from the west coast, I had no idea what to expect, but Walpole is such a cute, quintessential New England town and the Monadnock region is just ideal for viewing fall foliage. Though we were told it wasn't a great year for colors, it was still so beautiful. We didn't have to travel very far to see covered bridges, visit an organic dairy farm or go hiking. You can go on a beautiful hike right on the farm's property, in fact! In addition, you have easy access to VT as Walpole lies right along the Connecticut river. If we had more time and the hurricaine hadn't taken out some of the roads, we definitely would've spent more time in VT as well.
Bottom line, I highly recommend Inn at Valley Farms if you want to relax, enjoy nature and organic farming and explore the surrounding areas.

We had an absolutely wonderful wedding on the farm. The Inn, cottages and farmhouse were all very much a part of the joy! Jackie worked so hard and Chris and Caitlin became good friends as we bonded outside under the stars. It was everything we had hoped it would be and more! Thank you.

We were able to stay Monday to Sunday and loved every minute of it. I slept the best I have ever slept in my life here without any congestion for the first time in my adult life. We took note of all the organic cleaners and toiletries as well as the amazingly comfortable bedding. The views are gorgeous, the place wonderful in every way, and we loved Sam and Henry too. We came a long way, but it was worth it. We are already planning when we can come back. Thank you for your generous hospitality. This was a place of rest and peace to recharge our batteries. The eggs are delicious. Thank you for everything!

Thanks so much for the warm attention to details, it's something you can't learn. The setting was breathtaking at times, so returning during any other season might be hard to live up to!! Thank you again. See you again next year - same time, same place! Cheers.

This has been a great sisters get together. We enjoyed visiting the surrounding towns from Brattleboro to Lyme. Even spent a day on the AT (Appalachian Trail). The farmhouse has been a great accommodation for us - more than met our expectations. Thanks for letting us stay!
