Bimini Bay Resort House Rental
We were looking to get away for a few days and were specifically looking for something that was not a large mega resort.
First, the house. It is beautiful, well furnished, and has a spectacular location on the beach. I would note that the beach is not necessarily suited for sunbathing. For that, I would recommend the Three Sisters beach on the resort property. Overall we were absolutely thrilled with the accommodations.
Second, the resort. Bimini Bay Resort has the potential to be a world class getaway, but they are not quite there. The infinity pool, which is a three minute walk from the house is a great place to hang out as there is a bar and grill, but I wouldn't necessarily plan on swimming there as the pool wasn't heated during our stay, and the water was quite cold. the same is true for the hot tub located at the main pool by the restaurant. During our stay, the hot tub was not heated, which is a shame, as it is very inviting. The food was good but pretty expensive (lunch for 5 people at the infinity pool was $150...and were talking burgers and sandwiches and 5 drinks). I would highly recommend bringing as much food as possible and limiting the amount of dining at the resort restaurants.
Finally, the island. North Bimini is awesome if you are looking for an authentic island getaway. It's not highly developed, but the people are very friendly, and off resort options are plentiful.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this house, and there is a very good chance that we'll return in the near future. Just be aware that this is not an Atlantis type resort.
