This is not a cottage by any means but a beautiful beach home. It was far more than my dream of a getaway. And I thank the Reed's for sharing it. My family and I were so impressed by the detail that was taken to make everyone, all ages, comfortable. Games, toys, cookware, candles, books, movies, tourist info, etc., it was all there. The photos do not capture the warmth and charm. The only thing missing was more sunshine. We cannot wait to visit again.

Bonny and Rob have really created something special here. Their home is new, bright and airy, well-equipped AND clean. We loved the front porch with rattan seating, the back-porch gas grill and a fire pit in the backyard. The inside floor plan works really well for family meals and activities like doing crossword puzzles by the fireplace or watching the DNC convention on the large-screen TV downstairs. My family loved every minute of our Muskegon Beach vacation. We spent a day at Michigan's Adventure, near by Duck Lake and the beautiful Lake Michigan right across from this home. The house could not have been more perfect for our family. It was new, super clean and gorgeous. The owners shared/supplied all of the needed amenities.
The beach sand front yard and bon-fire pit in the back added to our family fun.

We had two families stay in July 2012 and we had a wonderful time! This house quickly turned to a home for us - the owners have stocked this home more than was expected, with premium kitchen supplies, games, books, movies, and lots and lots of towels! Though you expect much of this, the quality of the home (new construction) and that was contained within really surprised us.

The front porch and sand yard was perfect for the young one with us. When the shade hits, it is a perfect place to relax. The backyard was also wonderful.

The walk to the beach is a little long (though it is right across the street - the beach at that point is SOOO big, it takes a bit to walk to the water. But the sand is so soft, and the beach never felt crowded. It is also a quick walk to a nearby restaurant - Dockers. Quick drives to grocery and other shopping.

All in all it was a really great stay, plenty of room, great amenities, and we would definitely stay again.

We just returned from a fantastic week-long stay at The Beach House. This place is quite possibly the nicest rental you will find in Muskegon, and the Owner's have done a fabulous job of decorating and outfitting the house. The house was beautiful, VERY clean, and had absolutely everything needed for the at-home feel. The finished basement had a TV with DirectTV, DVDs for all ages, legos, puzzles, and plenty of seating.
We had four adults and four children in our group; everyone slept comfortably and there was room to spare. The sandy "beach" front yard is a great place for the kids (and adults) to play games and enjoy the sun when it's too cold to hit the water. The extra-wide front porch was a favorite spot for all.
Things to do:
- Swimming: Lake Michigan is literally across the street and the beach is very clean. The lake was pretty cold during our visit, so we opted to hit Duck Lake (20 min drive), which was a great spot for relaxing by the water while the kids play
- Eats: Docker's restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy some adult time
- Kids: Candy Emporium (downtown) is a great place to take the kids
- Activities: Rafting, canoeing, and the Silver Lake Sand Dunes are close - about 30 min. travel time by car
- Kids: Playground across the street at the beach, many others within walking distance
- Nighttime: The backyard fire pit was nice for relaxing and for making s'mores
- Fishing: Many charters available nearby

If you're looking for a quaint downtown area with streets lined with local shops, you will probably want to drive over to Grand Haven or up to Ludington for the day, as Muskegon has a much smaller downtown. But if you are looking to get away and relax, and don't mind driving for a few minutes, you will want to stay here. I wish the Owner's had more rentals like this one!

Our family stayed at the beach bungalow for a week - 5 adults & 5 kids, and we had plenty of space. Everything is brand new, clean, and well-thought out. The beach is super close and an easy walk with kids.

The house had A/C but even though it was hot (mid-90s), we didn't really need it - there was a great breeze running through the house, and lots of ceiling fans.
Our kids loved the front yard - it's basically a giant sandbox. They were content to be there all morning.

We will definitely be back!

5+++ stars!!!! Just ended an amazing week in a BEAUTIFUL brand new Beach Cottage!!! They have everything you might need to feel *at home*. A well-equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds. Space for 9. Relaxing beautiful porch. Games. Beach chairs. Boogie boards. Washer/dryer. Location is just a block to the beach, it was never crowded & had really clean sand. The owners have done an AMAZING job of outfitting this cottage for guests!!! Favorite ice cream spot: Frosty Cove (not Frosty Oasis). Grand Haven/Holland have the boutique shops. Muskegon has restaurants: The Station Grill, Shoreline Inn restaurant on the water, Hearthstone, Mia & Grace (definitely a Food Network kind of place!) and of course, the Lakeside Candy Emporium. Lots of bike trails nearby. We plan on returning someday to this beach retreat.

This was our first trip to Michigan and we couldn't have picked a better place to relax and unwind. I can't say enough about the owners. They were very accommodating and made sure we enjoyed our stay. The beach bungalow is in immaculate condition and has all the amenities you could possibly want for a stay at the beach. Pere Marquette Beach is incredible and I could not have imagined the water would be so clear and blue. We plan on returning in the future and I highly recommend this vacation rental.
