Grandparent(s) gathering children and grandchildren for vacation
We had a great family week at this VRBO. The home was exactly as advertised and the pictures appropriate. Very nice quality and ample furnishings, linens and amenities. We were a family grouping of grandparents, children and grandchildren. We all enjoyed private sleeping and closet space and the easy ability to have group dining/activities inside and outside.
Cable, Internet and many games were available.
The highlights of this rental were the heated pool, the outside paradise with lots of seating, grill, shower, lighting, heaters, fireplace, hot tub and water slide. The pool house was perfect for one couple with small child and as source of outside drinks and food. It was nice to have 2 full size refrigerators. The washer/dryer were much appreciated. We fluffed our pool towels to provide dry towels for the next morning.
We enjoyed walks and bike rides to the beach, shopping and dining. The trolley, public transportation, water taxi and ferry provided easy access to downtown San Diego, Balboa Park and the Zoo. Beaches were within walking distance for most - we did rent a car for baby seats, grocery shopping and the older and younger of the group. Coupons available at Ferry Landing Market Place.
The owner and the service providers were on call as needed and did routine visits to the home. Phone numbers for problems were available and the response was quick. Since most of our party wanted to swim early and late, we requested the pool heating program be revised slighty to accomodate this.
Some of us used taxi service to and fro the airport. Coronado Island Yellow Cab was reasonable and familiar with the streets of Coronado. The cabs grabbed at the airport, were not familiar with Coronado...they needed our help with the smart phone.
During the summer months, Coronado has weekly farmer's markets, tours, concerts, art displays in the park and other fun stuff to see and do plus free bus service to major points of the island. Don't miss the Coronado Museum of History on Orange Avenue.
We enjoy dine-in and carryout from Peohe's, Lil'Piggy BBQ, Nicky Rotter's, Miquels, Marriott, the Del, Coronado Brewing Company.
Our group was pleased with the ease of curbside recycling.
We much appreciated the attention to detail from the owner and the service providers. We were well cared for and would come back to this property. The relaxed pace of Coronado and the ease of getting over to San Diego, make this location perfect.
