This home is just as advertised. I searched through many houses, in many different locations, so I was nervous about my choice. However, any concern was gone when we arrived! The beachfront location is beautiful and the many windows and doors across the back of the house allow for great views from both inside and out, and also allow for a wonderful breeze through the house. We witnessed amazing sunsets in the evenings and whales right off of the deck many mornings. It doesn't get any better than that! The house was clean and maintained very well. The gated location is nice and the house sits back off of the road a bit. Foodland and Starbucks are within walking distance, as well as Sharks Cove and several great beaches. The beach that the house sits on Ke Iki, is also very nice and very clean. From the pictures online, I was slightly concerned about the large mass of black rock behind the house, but it was not a hinderance at all and was actually very cool to look at! We had family pictures and renewed our vows right on the beach behind the house, so it was very special to us! The location on the North Shore is nice if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and Honolulu. However, you will be spending a lot of time in the car if you want to go back and forth for activities between the North Shore and Honolulu. A large stretch of the road is only two lane, and traffic is always backed up and stopped. So, you should plan once you are on the North Shore, to stay on the North Shore. Haleiwa is a nice little town with a few nice restaurants and many local shops. It is a 15+ minute drive from the house (depending on traffic). The owners/rental company were very helpful and dealt with the few issues that we had while at the house. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone who wants a beautiful location away from the big city. It would also be nice for large family/friend gatherings to rent this house along with the other 2 properties (Mako Hale and Honu Hale). They are all 3 within the gate and very close to each other (no worries if you are not with family and friends--there is very thick vegetation between the 3 houses which allow for adequate privacy). A great find!!

Owner's Response: PLEASE NOTE: The other two properties Juli mentions--Honu Hale and Mako Hale--have had their names changed to Plumeria House and Ginger House, respectively.
