Our family of four had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday in this beautiful lakefront home in New Buffalo, MI. Upon our arrival, we shopped at the awesome & friendly local market, "Barney's" to complete our meal planning, after which we enjoyed cooking in the beautiful and well equipped kitchen (supplied with every amenity and utensil imaginable). We then enjoyed our meal at the dining table with the stunning and dramatic scenery of Lake Michigan surrounding us via floor to ceiling window views.
We made the scenic drive to Warren Dunes Park and enjoyed climbing the amazing sand dunes on Thanksgiving afternoon with ideal temps in the 50's! As evening approached, the wind picked up, the weather turned colder, and we were gifted with the colors of a gorgeous sunset along with the changing personality of the lake from calm to huge waves. (Note: each of our bedroom windows had a picturesque view of the lake, the home is directly on the lake!)

In the morning we awoke to the fun surprise of snow flurries! We dropped our daughter at the train station for an early return to the city, then headed out for a leisurely drive to Three Oaks, MI and then on to St. Joseph, MI where we stopped to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a festive walk through several quaint shops along State street. We got into the holiday spirit with the town decked out for Christmas, especially as we took in the aromas of "Kilwins" chocolates & caramel popcorn, the local coffee shops and bakeries! Pet lovers must check out the shop, "Fuzzy Butz", specializing in home baked pet foods, one of many great shops in St. Joseph!

We appreciate that the owners were very kind, quick, & easy to communicate with. The property is impeccably clean and well maintained, and the VRBO description & photos are truly accurate of this home on Lake Michigan. We highly recommend this amazing home for anyone desiring a memorable vacation during any of the four seasons. The home has many places to retreat for reading, playing games, exercising on the fitness equipment, watching TV, WiFi included, as well as lovely front and back porches, balcony and patio areas; it has beautiful landscaping, bikes available to ride, the beach is steps away, and the Amtrak Train Station is nearby as well. Above all, the lake view is spectacular!

My sisters and I spent three nights at this property and enjoyed every minute of our stay. Jerry is the owner and he made the rental process effortless. Be prepared for the views when you first walk in because they are SPECTACULAR! Nearly all of the rooms in the bi-level home have gorgeous windows allowing for terrific views of the lake. The deck is outside the living and dining room area and it's just a few steps to the lake. Everything was well maintained and arranged to allow for comfort and relaxation.

There is no beach right in front of this house due to a concrete breaker wall but you can access the beach by walking down and over a few houses. The wall sits well below the property so there are no issues with the view but if you are hoping for a sandy beach directly adjoining the property, this house does not have that. This is a minor point considering the overall beauty of the the house and the magnificent views every which way you look.

The master bedroom is spacious and it was so restful listening to the sound of the waves, especially one night when a big storm came rolling through. The bed was extremely comfortable. There is a large closet and bathroom within the master suite, along with a bay window.

We loved the kitchen. It had all the amenities (although we couldn't figure out how to get the garbage disposal to work). Lots of counter space, and again, great VIEWS! We liked it so much we decided to cook all of our meals instead of dining out. There is a bonus sunroom on the street side, and another one on the bottom level by the lakefront deck. Lots of bedrooms and an office which would be a wonderful place to work, but I'd find the view too distracting because the room also overlooks the lake!

We took day trips over to Notre Dame, the Warren Dunes, and nearby wineries. This is a great rental property and we hope to return sometime.

Where to begin! We had a total of 7 adults and this was our first but not last visit to Lake Michigan. Everything about the house exceeded our expectations! The house was just beautiful, kitchen fully equipped with all the necessities (if you planned on cooking but we didn't!). We couldn't believe the views, how close the house was to the lake, and we have to say that the pictures absolutely do not do the home justice. It was so relaxing to listen to the waves, sit on the deck and watch the boats and the sunsets were gorgeous and also we couldn't believe we could see the Chicago skyline at sunset -- we got some great photos! The beach is only a very short walk past 3 houses and then you can walk quite a ways to the inlet of the marina. We also visited the nearby public beach, and Warren Dunes State Park where we walked quite a while on that beach also and hiked the dunes. Four Winds Casino was awesome, didn't stay long though because we wanted to enjoy the lake! Jerry was extremely helpful in answering all of my questions and answered e-mails promptly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay -- thank you Jerry & Janice -- you have a beautiful home!

My family and I recently stayed here and loved the home. Very comfortable, clean, and cozy. The fire place and views are Amazing!! It had every accommodation you could need while away from home.

You can't beat sleeping next to to the lake. With the windows open in the master bedroom, we may as well have been camping on the beach. This home was perfect for a beautiful wedding with good friends. We were well accommodated for and had all the comforts of home. The owners thought of every detail. They were also great to work with and very welcoming. Great house, great times.

Our stay at this home was wonderful. You could not ask for a more beautiful view of Lake Michigan. On the last night of our stay the sunset looked as though red coal were burning through the clouds. Just to the right was the skyline of Down Town Chicago. You could clearly see the Willis Tower and The Hancock Building. The home itself was very very nice. Plenty of bedrooms for 5 gals. The kitchen was well stocked with all the that was needed. I can't think of one thing I would have needed. The rental process was as easy as can be. The owner Jerry was pleasant to speak with, and all my emails were answered almost immediately. There are plenty of wineries to visit, The Round Barn was my favorite. An easy trip to Michigan City for some Outlet Mall shopping and Blue Chip Casino. Four Winds Casino was as close as can be and very nice. I can highly recommend this rental to all. We rented this place for a family getaway and it was as wonderful as we had hoped. The house is clean and spacious and the views are gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for a better house or a better experience. The beach is very private and that was a highlight for us as we spent a great deal of time in the water. Our family hopes to go again next year.

My family truly had the best vacation we've ever had in Jerry's beautiful home. He was such a pleasure to chat with prior to renting and had everything so organized when we arrived. The home is outstanding, even more beautiful than we had envisioned. The view is out of this world. My 10 year old & 7 year old stayed with me, along with my mother & father, and brother's family of 5 which included a 2 year old, 3 year old and 8 year old. There was so much room for all of us. It was close to everything. We most enjoyed watching the kids play on the beach below, riding bikes on the nice, flat street and wandering in and out of stores in New Buffalo. We loved the farmers market at Skips (I believe) as well as dinner at the Stray Dog and Hawaiian Shaved Ice at Nancy's. Jerry was just a phone call away if anything was needed. Thankfully, all was planned so perfectly, nothing was needed. I have absolutely no complaints and highly recommend this incredible property to all who want a peaceful and restful stay on Lake Michigan. You can even see the silhouette of the Chicago skyline across the Lake from the living room. AMAZING! Thank you Jerry & Janice for the most memorable and perfect vacation.
