Charming Central London Studio near it all!

This studio, situated in Fitzrovia/Westminster W1, is perfect for a couple or a single person. It is a cute and very comfortable vacation rental with full amenities on a quaint and quiet residential street within minutes walk from SOHO, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road, Regents Park and around the corner from tons of boutiques and art galleries.

The bedroom:

•L-Shaped Sofa that folds into a double bed

•Futon that folds into a comfy couch (+ memory foam topper)

•WIFI, iPod dock and an armoire with plenty of room.

•Bright, private and romantic

The kitchen:

•Self-contained

•Washer

•Dishwasher

•Utensils, cooking tools, etc.

•View out onto St. Paul's Church

The bathroom:

•Stand up shower with nonstop hot water (rare!)

•Toilet (smallish)

Located on Hanson St., and is SO central it is hard to explain in words. Perfect location for one or two guests looking to quickly reach any part of the city. Fitzrovia is one of the gems of London and has a beautiful unique character. Creative personalities that inhabit the homes and workplaces make it so special and alive. The Beatles just lived net door!

Fitzrovia is in London's West End, situated between Bloomsbury and Holborn and also north of Soho. Surrounded by Oxford Street, and Tottenham Court Road. The historically bohemian Fitzrovia was once home to such writers as George Bernard Shaw, Virginia Woolf and Arthur Rimbaud, more lately known as a media and advertising hub. Chippendale was among the craftsmen who set up shop here and you can find lots of blue plaques which record the homes of many artists, writers and statesmen who have lived here.

Nearest Tube stations (ranging from closest to kind of close):

Goodge Street (3-5 min walk), Warren Street, Great Portland Street, Oxford Circus (5-7 min walk), Tottenham Court Road

great apartment

5 of 5
Submitted: October 16, 2012 Stayed: September 2012
The studio apartment was great! It was in a quiet neighborhood, close to bus and underground lines. About a 5-10 minute walk to the crazy center of Oxford Circus. We did get lost trying to find the apartment on our way in so recommend you prepare yourselves with good directions unlike ourselves who tried to navigate with the maps on the side of the road (which point all different directions and are not all north-south!). A few days before our visit we were given info to get into the apartment, which was very nice for us since we would have been stressed since running later than planned. We mostly buses and walked places since the Goodge station (closest one I think), doesn't connect to very many places, and we preferred to see London from above on a double decker!

The apartment had wifi, lots of TV channels that we didn't watch, washing machine, espresso machine (makes good coffee!), microwave among other things. There was plenty of shampoos and soaps, even detergent for the washing machine, bits of food, jams, butter. I'm happy that the foods from other guests were kept around and not dumped out before every visit! Also, plenty of hot water for 2 people to shower back to back! BIG PLUS!! The couch style bed was very comfy, and we were glad to see it made up for us and a couch next to it.

Overall would recommend this place to friends and family!

First time visitors to London

We spent 14 days in London on a first visit. Reservations were easily arranged with Ariel and he was most prompt with replies to our questions. Location of the studio is outstanding with easy access to the Tube, to shopping, to restaurants, to markets. Studio is fine for 2 people with a comfortable futon/fold-out bed. Bathroom space is tight but plenty of hot water and is very adequate. Kitchen has microwave, clothes washer, small fridge, dishwasher and cooking top. The only sink is in the kitchen which was occasionally inconvenient. Kitchen is supplied with all the usual necessary items for casual cooking/reheating. Pleasant residential neighborhood on a one-way street which, unfortunately, ends at a Dominoes Pizza with delivery scooters zipping down the street at night. Street noise will carry into the unit as it is a ground floor unit, but it was passing and not constant. WiFi connection is very good. Flat was clean and more than adequate linens provided. Suggestions: a TV would be nice even if only local stations, remove black couch and have small table with chairs instead of kitchen counter seating. A good value for lodging in London and we would definitely consider returning to this studio.

spot on location

My family and I stayed for 4days in October. London was our last stop in our 2-week European holiday. My 5-year-old daughther described it as the best hotel ever. That is quite a compliment considering the previous hotel was in Disneyland. Actually the stuff that i planned to write has been mentioned by Trish from KansasCity especially the excellent location. We had problem with the TV and Wifi too but the owner was very helpful. However we had problem to reach him as the payphone was not working well. The wifi was fast but kind of unstable.
Some may find the unit to be small but for small Asian people like us, that was not an issue at all. I love the complete yet simple kitchen. We had breakfast and dinner at the studio daily. With 2 children under 6, this is so much nicer than having to go out early for breakfast or go get dinner when they were cranky late evening.
Overall, dont hesitate on this place. I dont think we could ask for more with this very reasonable price. If we could, i agree with Trish again for a full length mirror.

Owner's Response: So sorry i missed your review.
It was a pleasure having all of you. You are very kind in our review.
As for the TV; its not part of the amenities and we put it there for watching movies and connecting the laptop to a larger screen.
I am giving you a 5 STAR ratings as a guest!! Thanks.

Nice place in a great neighborhood.

My husband and I stayed in the apartment for 5 nights in early September. This was our first visit to London and we were excited to experience it as locals in our own apartment. We really loved the neighborhood. Fitzrovia is just north of Soho and convenient to Portland Place, Regent Street and Oxford Street with just about any store you could possibly need. We bought food at Tesco and Marks and Spencer so that we could have a few meals at the apartment. There is also a Crispin’s convenient store up the street that was open until about eleven. It was really nice to get up in the morning, roll out of bed, have breakfast and plan your day over a cup of coffee. The futon/bed was pretty comfortable and the kitchen was very nice. Goodge Street Tube Station was about an 8-10 minute walk and on the Northern Line so getting anywhere in the city was easy.
Overall we loved the apartment but there were a few very minor inconveniences. We weren’t able figure out how to operate the television never found the wifi code in the apartment. We realized that we could have called for help with this but just never bothered. A notebook or sheet of instructions with helpful hints for the apartment and maybe some neighborhood recommendations would be our suggestion. As others have mentioned, the apartment is right at street level and the sleeping area is just a few feet away from the window by the sidewalk. Since we weren’t there on the weekend the noise wasn’t too bad but we were definitely aware every time anyone walked by and heard every conversation. For light sleepers this could be annoying but we were so exhausted every night that we slept fine. The front window could also use some better window treatment since there is a street light right outside the window. The blinds only come down part way, leaving about a one foot gap. The windows are frosted so privacy is not an issue but this does result in a fair amount of light in the area where you are sleeping. The bathroom is also very tiny. My husband is 6’3 and was not able to close the bathroom door while sitting on the toilet. We just shut the door between the living room and kitchen (where the bathroom is located) instead so privacy for him was not a problem. A couple of other things that we thought would be nice to have were a full length mirror and an alarm clock.
Again, we did think this was an excellent apartment and location. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we return and highly recommend it to anyone lo

The perfect home away from home while in London!

This studio is well laid out, comes with all of the stuff that's necessary for day to day living and is in a charming little neighborhood that's only a short walk from a tube station. I felt instantly at home in the studio and was sad to leave when my week was up.

The owner is very helpful and is great at communicating -- I'm so glad I chose to stay here! Oh and as an added bonus, it's located only a couple of blocks away from a Banksy!

Spent 10days in June staying in the studio whilst on business. It is ideally situated in the heart of a very cosmopolitan area a few minutes walk from either Oxford Circus/ regents park tube stations. The apartment is modestly furnished with the everything you need for a self accommodation stay, with added extra of high speed wireless internet and an iPod docking station.

If I could be at all critical of the studio it would only be to say that perhaps it could benefit from a television, but there is so much to do in this area of London that I doubt it would get much use!!

The studio is at street level and if you're after the quiet life then perhaps you should look elsewhere, but for what I needed it was perfect!

The owner Mike was superb, great communication throughout and very friendly. A pleasure to do business with!!

My son and I rented the studio for three days in July. The reservation and payment process was a breeze and the studio was just as advertised. Very clean and well maintained, Fantastic location with nice restaurants and pubs within easy walking distance. We did have a chance to stay one night in the larger flat downstairs which was really nice, especially for more than two people.

A little small for 4, but perfect for 2. Very clean. Had everything we needed and was in a great neighborhood. The tube is only a 5 minute walk. There are multiple pubs within a 5 minute walk as well. The only bad thing was an annoying sea gull outside that would wake us up every morning. Thanks for being hospitable and responsive landlords.

I almost don't want to write this review because the next time I am in London I am definitely going to try and rent here again. I hope you don't book my dates!

The owners deserve positive reviews because the studio is new and very clean, with a no-nonsense simple style, in a fantastic location. Note that this is on the ground level so if you can't stand hearing people walking by your window, this is not the place for you.
Amazingly, the studio looks even better in person than in these well done pictures. The few blocks surrounding the flat have interesting restaurants, pubs and shops... and oxford street is right there.
I have stayed in a few VRBO apartments in London and this is the best so far.
