It was our first time rental experience in NYC. The location of the apartment
is great in mid-town West/Hell’s Kitchen. Close enough to Times Square and the
Theater district to walk and to catch any subway you needed, yet far enough away
to not feel like you were in the middle of all of the mid-town lights and noise.
Great access to restaurants. The typical NYC apartment was of course smaller
than we are used to, but worked out just fine for the three of us after a long
day of touring and walking the city. There are two bedrooms, one in the front on
the main street and one in the back. The bedroom in the back was quieter and the
one in the front was only just a little bit more noisy, but after the first
night, got used to it. Both bedrooms were good size and comfortable beds. The
kitchen and living area are small, but most of our time was spent on the town
and by the time we got home, we were ready to wind down and get some sleep.
There were a couple of problems, but nothing that caused a problem (the bathroom
door hinges has stripped screws so you had to lift up on the door when opening
and closing).

Liz was great…answered all of my questions and really made me feel comfortable
renting a place in a city that I know nothing about other than what you read. So
if you are looking for a place in the heart of it all, but located in a New York
neighborhood where you can get a rich experience of what everyday living is like
in the city, then this is a good choice and Liz is great to work with. We all
had a great time.

First, I precise that I requested this flat but as it was not available, the manager Liz, proposed another flat in the same building (bigger with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms).
It was for my family (we were 4 with my wife and my 2 sons) the first time in NYC and the first time for us to rent a flat instead of taking an hotel room.
And we have lived a marvelous experience, also thanks to the quality and comfort of the apartment.
All was perfectly clean, well maintained, functional, and conform to the description.
The location of the apartment is perfect, close to Times Square that our sons (and us) love, but surprisingly very quiet for the night.
In addition, the level of customer support from Liz, the manager, was incredibely high. She was very kind, answering to all my questions, and helped me a lot in preparing our trip, giving me a lot of useful information.
Moreover, we have really appreciated the availability of Alex, the guy managing the reception and support locally.
Definitively, I would recommend this apartment and as we will certainly return in NYC (I hope as soon as possible), we will without any doubt re-ask to Liz, hoping that she will have an apartment available for us !
Good continuation to Liz and her team !
Owner's Response: Stephane,

Liz

Real NYC experience!

I brought my two grade school kids and my mother to the city for their first visit during Spring Break. It was their first time to the city and my first vacation rental experience in NYC. We really felt like we had a ‘real’ New York experience. The location of the apartment is great in mid-town West/Hell’s Kitchen. Close enough to Times Square and the Theater district to walk and to catch any subway you needed, yet far enough away to not feel like you were in a 40-story hotel right in the middle of all of the mid-town lights and noise. Great access to restaurants as well, being so centrally located. The apartment was exactly as it’s pictured with nice West Elm bedroom décor. Coming from Texas, we are used to big spaces, so the typical NYC apartment was of course smaller than we are used to, but worked out just fine for the four of us after a long day of touring the city. There are two bedrooms, one in the front on the main street and one in the back. The bedroom in the back was very quiet and the one in the front was only just a little bit more noisy. But nothing that kept us from sleeping well. The kitchen and living area are small, but most of our time was spent on the town and by the time we got home, we were ready to wind down and get some sleep. Busy main streets (as most are in NYC) so you always have to be aware, but definitely felt safe with my kids in this location.

I spoke with many owners and managers of vacation rentals in the city and one of the reasons I decided to stay here was the great response and communication I received from Liz. She was great…answered all of my questions and really made me feel comfortable renting a place in a city that I know a little about, but not enough to proclaim myself an expert by any stretch. So if you are looking for a place in the heart of it all, but located in a ‘real’ New York neighborhood where you can get a rich experience of what everyday living is like in the city, then this is a good choice and Liz is great to work with. We all had a great time on our trip and my kids got to see both the awe-inspiring magnitude of what New York is about combined with a more everyday side of New York living.

Great experience overall staying here.
