The boat was moored in a good location in the marina. Close to the club house for showers, beach, pool and restaurant. The beds were not all that comfortable, especially the master bdrm mattress. The interior was okay. If you use the stove, it takes a long time to heat up. There is a DVD player and movies, but the player is not hooked up and there are no directions to hook it up. It would be helpful to have a YTV channel listing. The entire interior is packed full of stuff such as under the sink, in all the cubbies and some of the drawers that could be used for guest clothing. The entire interior needs a Spring cleaning. The salon was comfortable and looks like some updating was done. The owner, Amy, was very responsive the phone calls and questions upon our arrival.

Quiet and peaceful getaway on the water

The description of this boat is accurate. She is not new but a well kept classic hatteras sportfish yacht. We totally enjoyed our six days aboard this boat. My family of 4 were very comfortable inside and outside during the day and night. The beds were nice and the full size refridgerator was an added bonus. We watched Michigan State play basketball on the big screen TV and the cable service gave us many watching options. The air conditioning worked well and the Salon layout was perfect for us. The boat comes well equipped, we had everything we needed to cook for ourselves including spices, plates, silver ware and glasses.We even found some suntan oil when we ran low. We have stayed at many Marinas in the Great Lakes region but have never been to one that could match the Key West Harbor Yacht Club. The Beach, Pool, Restaurant and Club House are all top notch. The whole facility is well kept and very clean and quiet. The staff are also freindly and make you feel welcome. We enjoyed the 2 Kayaks and paddled around the marina and even saw a Manatee! When we arrived Amy had the lights on and the air conditioning running. We made ourselfs right at home. You can park right behind the boat so unloading baggage and provisions was very easy. This was the first week of Spring Break so the town was very busy, It was nice to come back to the boat for some quiet time, We all said that this was a great idea and want to come back again!

Rustic and Relaxing Getaway

My husband and I enjoyed our stay on Bow'd Up. As city dwellers in Toronto, Canada it was nice to get away and unwind in the Florida Keys.
The boat is very clean and we had everything we needed for an enjoyable vacation.
The Marina facilities were great - we worked out at the small gym, lounged by the pool and beach, took our showers in the clean facilities, ate at the Marina restaurant. The boat is docked near the main building which is perfect and convenient.
Lastly I would like say thanks to Amy and Harry for the exceptional service we received. From the time I booked the boat to the time we checked-out, I felt at ease knowing that the owners really care about our experience.
If we can, we will return. Thanks again!

Nice But Needs Maintenance

Cons - bathroom door would not close (a problem), drawers are are hard to open, closets are unusable so no where to stow luggage. Entire boat could use maintenance.

Owner's Response: We are sorry for any inconveniences you experienced while staying on our boat. Our guests comfort and happiness are very important to us, and we strive to make each stay a wonderful experience. We have owned the boat for about four years now, and part of the reason we love it so much is the boat has been kept for the most part in its original classic look such as the wood interior. Unlike modern day yachts, our classic Hatteras was built heavy and solid like the wooden drawers in the bedroom for example. Although they may be a little difficult for some to open, the drawers were designed to not slide open when out at sea. The key to opening them is to pull up first, then out. Due Key Wests highly humid climate, this can cause wooden doors to expand and contract causing the door to swell making it difficult to close. This type of problem is very common for any wooden door in a tropical climate, and can be fixed. As far as the closet space, there is a slight shortage of extra storage on board; the closets were being used to hold extra supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, extra pillows, & blankets. We will be working on figuring out a better solution. We want to encourage our guest to feel free to contact us during their stay if there is an issue that needs to be addressed, or if there is anything else we can do to make our guests more comfortable. We are very happy you liked the rest of the facility at the yacht club, we love it there too!

It was different in a cool refreshing way. We stay in Key West a lot because of family. Duval street is fun but parking and crowds stink. BOW'D UP was so quiet and peaceful. The marina is has many top quality things to do; beach, pool, fishing and great food. Parking does not get closer or more available in KW either! My children 8 and 9 loved the adventure of living on a boat for a few days and have named this, "the best vacation ever". We will stay here again. BOW'D UP is quite a treat.

So Much Fun.

What a fun 3 days we have just had. Our 6 and 7 year old boys chose this part of our holiday and I think they did very well! The boat was fantastic and so comfortable. Getting up and having coffee on the deck in the mornings was just heaven. The air con was also a godsend to escape from some of the heat of the day. The beds were also really comfortable and we havent slept that well in ages.
Amy and HB were wonderful and could not have been more helpful. Amy came to meet us when we arrived which made us feel very welcome.
The club was excellent and everything was so clean. We highly recommend eating at the club, the food and service is great. Make sure you sit out on the balcony to eat...you dont want to miss the wonderful view and the sunset. It was also a great place to meet some of the locals who were very friendly.
The pool and beach were perfect and we spent many hours there. We alas never made it into the gym, we adopted the Island life attitude and became very laid back!
I would definitely recommend this yacht, we truly had a great time. The boys spent hours playing pirates and didnt want to leave. Our only issue was that we didnt book for longer!!!

Amazing stay and experience

This was our first time staying on a boat, and it was an amazing time for us, we wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle and relax with still being just a short drive from the lively duval street. The Views are spectacular. Being able to watch sunrise and sunset it doesnt get any better. Amazing amenities everything you need or would want. This was a special trip for us as we became engaged on our trip, perfect for a romantic trip or just to get away and relax. Boat literally rocks you to sleep and after a long day of soaking in some sun by the pool or private beach or some kayaking in the peaceful beautiful water what better than a cold room and king size bed. We cant wait to come back and relax some more. Truly peaceful. Thank you to the owners very sweet and helpful.

Excellent choice!

We were extremely pleased with this rental. The service from the owners were impeccable. Amy went over and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. She was very prompt in returning our phone calls and followed up to make sure that we were satisfied upon our arrival. HB chartered our fishing expedition. He was punctual, very friendly, and knowledgeable. I was a bit hesitant about staying at the marina, however, I would like to assure everyone, this place is top notch. The marina is brand new, the facility is extremely clean, the showers were stocked with towels and lockers to store your things. The clubhouse is beautiful and the bar and restaurant have a beautiful view of the ocean. The marina also has full time security, although we felt perfectly safe. It was wonderful to spend the evenings on the deck of the boat. It was very quiet and the people that you did meet were extremely friendly. We will definitely stay at this location in the future. Once piece of advice, rent a scooter! We had the best time touring around Duval street and the scooters make it very simple to park. They are well worth the cost, and fun. The majority of the people in the downtown area either rent bicycles or scooters. Also, be sure to take advantage of the kayaks and touring the mangroves. This was not on my list of "to do's", however, it turned out to be one of the most enjoyable things that we did. Thanks again to HB and Amy!

Wow, wow, wow, we had the best time, relaxed and enjoyed living aboard Bow'd Up. There was nothing lacking for our comfort and enjoyment. Plenty of everything at hand, towels, spices, cookware. Especially enjoyed the new sound system. The Key West Harbour Yacht Club is quiet and comforting, with alot of friendly helpful staff, it's restaurant was an added delight. Good luck Captain Harry in the upcoming tournament, happy first anniversary after that, and birthday wishes to Amy on 5/19. Thank you both for a memorable vacation, we'll see you again!

A Great Time!

Never done anything like this before, but this beats staying at a hotel by a long shot. The boat was very comfortable and spacious and the yacht club amenities were great! The private beach was beautiful and peaceful and a great place to relax and watch the yachts go by. We were able to spend the days out on the boat fishing and snorkeling and watching incredible sunsets on the water. We really felt at home and would recommend this to others looking for an adventurous trip to Key West!!!
