Selfishly I'd be happy not to review this amazing property - I'd love to keep it all to myself!!! It's close enough to the hustle and bustle of Waikiki in a beautiful spot high on the hill.

Joanne was a delight to deal with - she's just lovely and keen to ensure your stay is just perfect. We arrived early and were welcomed into the apartment without any problem. This place looks EXACTLY like the photos! The pictures aren't 'old and showing it at it's very best' - it is beautifully clean and met all my expectations.

Everything you could possibly need is provided here - from shampoo & conditioner to the Keurig coffee machine in the fully equipped kitchen! The two bedrooms are spacious - the master is beautiful and HUGE! It has it's own sitting area and the lanai is peaceful and very comfortable. So much so that I feel asleep out there a couple of nights! The Friday night fireworks at Waikiki beach are easy to see from the lanai too! The bathroom is enormous - the shower is HUGE and really luxurious. The kitchen is really well equipped and makes eating in a breeze. Downstairs is a laundry....so no need to bring washing home! Parking is provided which is a bonus.

In short - I LOVED THIS PLACE! I wouldn't hesitate to come back and stay here again. Thank you Joanne for allowing us to share your beautiful property, we had a great time and look forward to coming back again!!

My husband and 2 1/2 yr old son stayed here for a week recently...and we had a fantastic time! The cottage is lovely, with very nice furniture and beautifully decorated. The location is wonderful! Very convenient to downtown Honolulu/Waikiki and freeways. Loved the privacy and being up in the hills. It was ideal to sit on the lanai in the evening (after the toddler went to bed :)) and enjoy the view and the peacefulness (along with a glass of wine or a beer). Jo Ann is a wonderful hostess - making sure we had everything we needed and responsive to any questions or recommendations. We hope to come back soon - and we'll definitely stay here again!

This is much more than an alternative for a hotel room. The unit is beautifully appointed, in a quiet, very attractive location, spacious, and well maintained. You have access to the grounds and BBQ area in addition to a modern kitchen and private lanai. The apartment is a level above the main house so is quite private. With many windows for light, the shutters allow for ventilation and privacy. The owners are gracious and helpful but only there should you need their assistance - we really loved staying there. This is a central location with easy access to shopping, restaurants, parks and city activities. 4 stars instead of five only because the kitchen is a bit small for someone who loves cooking and due to a torrential downpour that slightly inconvenienced our use of the unit. We would definitely stay here on a future visit to Honolulu.

This property was simply perfect for our lengthy stay on Oahu. I selected this location for the extremely convenient access it provided for our planned destinations and this significantly minimized our local commute time. The property owners were very accommodating with the reservation process and most helpful during our entire stay. The cottage was very roomy for the four in our family (including two young children) which made for a most comfortable stay. We enjoyed every amenity the cottage had to offer—and yet there was still much more to enjoy! This was the perfect way to spend our vacation—maximizing our time at the locations we enjoyed and returning “home” to a very cozy, accommodating cottage. We could not be any more pleased with our experience!

Our group was very pleased with the accomodations. Everything in the place was clean and in working order. The kitchen and bathroom is well stocked with the day-to-day necessities and the beds were firm but comfortable. It was nice to have the clothes washer and dryer, allowing us to travel a bit lighter

The location is away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Honolulu but a very short drive to wherever you want to be on the island. A car rental is must.

Our hostess, Joanne, was very accomodating and quick to respond to the questions and requests we had.

I would recommend this property to anyone and would certainly stay here again myself.

Aloha - This property was great! We are a family of 5 and stayed here with our 3 boys (13, 11, and 4). We are kama'aina from Kauai and were looking for a comfortable, cozy and convenient vacation rental for the weekend. The bathroom and kitchen are very clean and user friendly, I most especially enjoyed the Keurig for my morning coffee. The bathroom was well stocked with all necessities - toilet paper, towels, shampoo/conditioner, etc. All the kitchen necessities (pots, pans, oil, salt/pepper, etc.) were available including choice of coffee and vanilla creamer. I was able to cook daily meals for the boys which saved us from having to each at restaurants and fast foods while on vacation. Location is in central Honolulu, away from traffic and congestion - easy off/on ramp to the H-1 freeway, there are grocery stores in close vicinty, and the beach and mall are only 10 mins. away. We hope to be able to return to this Paradise Cottage :)

This was our first family trip to Hawaii, and our 4th vacation home rental. By far, this was a perfect place to stay for me and my family! The home was large enough for my wife and I, as well as, our two teenage children. The location is perfect - the view spectacular, and the ease of getting to all the sites was incredibly easy.

Jo Ann and Jose were gracious hosts, making sure we had everything we needed, and the house was equipped with all the essentials. It was so nice to come back at the end of the day to sit outside and watch the sunset, the fireworks, or the beautiful backdrop of the city.

I highly recommend this rental for anyone visiting - You will not be disappointed!

This is actually a beautifully renovated and decorated cottage above the owner's garage. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that is has an unusual layout due to being built above the garage. For example, the main bedroom is in the main living space and that the only way to access the lanai is from the main bedroom. Also to access the kitchen, you must either walk through the second bedroom or go outside. This normally is not a problem unless you have small children sleeping in that second bedroom like I did. Also because it is so nicely decorated, I was slightly uncomfortable bringing my two young children (2 under 2) into the space since I was worried they would destroy it.

Those reservations out of the way... It was very spacious overall with great renovations on the kitchen, bathroom, and lanai especially. It was definitely more than enough space for my husband, me, two kids, and mother to stay in comfortably. Also you couldn't beat the view of the city or the 100 year old banyan tree on the property. We were able to access downtown and the highways quite easily.

The owners, Jose and Jo Ann, were wonderful, and their daughter was adorable. They were extremely helpful, such as waiting around for my lost baggage to arrive, letting us borrow a high chair, use their washer and dryer, and also borrow their grill and outdoor entertaining space when we had some friends over. Their outdoor space includes tables, chairs, lounge chairs, and a spectacular view of Waikiki and downtown. The Friday night fireworks promised on the website were best observed while drinking a cold beverage by the grill.

We will definitely look into booking this place again on our next trip to Hawaii!
