Teachers House - June 2009

Review Submitted: July 7, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We were so pleased when we arrived at Teachers House, because after looking at the pictures on the website, we had high expectations of what the house would be like....and it didn't disappoint - the house was stunning! We were greeted with wine and chocolates and glorious sunshine, which meant we were able to make use of the very pretty garden and patio area.
We had a really lovely weekend and didn't want to leave. This is a fantastic location for a family get-together or a group of frriends to have a gathering. Plenty of rooms and space to find a quiet corner to read a book too!
Owner's Response: What a great review. Thanks Claire and I am glad that you loved the house and that you and your family had a great loing weekend. Hope to welcome you all back soon. Regards, Mary and Peter

Comfortable, well decorated and well located house

Review Submitted: September 16, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We chose this property because we feared for some unstable weather and wanted to be comfortable inside as well as outside. This has worked out great. Although the weather was much better than expected, we did spent a rainy Wednesday morning at the house which was delightful. The house has many comfortable and nicely decorated rooms to sit and relax, enjoy music or large screen television (lots of DVD's !) and the kitchen is wonderfully spacious and very well equipped. On the sunnier days we enjoyed the garden as well. Great Wolford is a quiet little hamlet from where you can make nice walks through the country side. The local pub serves great food. The house proved to be an ideal base for daytrips in the Cotswolds : Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon, Blenheim Palace and the beautiful Cotswolds' country side and villages are within easy reach. Moreton-in-Marsh is the practical neigbbouring town at a 10 min. drive where all amenities can be found.
We definitely recommend this property to everyone !

Teachers House is wonderful

The house is really very, very nice. The kitchen and kitchen eating table were so nice that we didn't even use the beautiful dining room. Bedrooms were very nice and, in particular, the bathrooms seemed fairly new. This place is not 'tired' at all. The yard (garden) out back was fairly large and pretty. The little village it is in is just that, very little. We found it fairly easy to get to wherever else we wanted to go (Burton-on-the-Water, Stratford, Broadway, et al). Moreton-in-Marsh is nice and has some restaurants and stores, although it's not quite as quaint as some other towns (Stow, Broadway). The TESCO in Stow is close enough to shop at, although not so close to just pop out to get something. There is a TESCO Express in Moreton for little things. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Really, really great. We wanted to see more of the Cotswolds, but also just wanted to hang around the house, b/c is was so relaxing and pleasant.
Owner's Response: Thank you for such a great review. Its lovely to hear that you and your family really enjoyed your stay at "Teachers" it is a really gorgeous house. Yes Great Wolford is a charming village but with a great pub and lots of great walks. We hope to welcome you back very soon.

Great Easter Break

Beautiful house in a great location.
Furnished to a very high standard. Really nice garden as well.

There were six of us and the house was a great size for this amount of people, 8 would still be comfortable.

Reccommend the local pub for drinks and food. Its only 5 mins away but you do need to book for food.

All in all a great easter holiday.
Owner's Response: Fantastic, to great yet another great review and really glad to hear that you loved the house and the garden as well. It is a really beautiful house. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. We would also like to thank you for looking after the house so well.

Teachers House is a fantastic home away from home and provided myself and friends with a superb weekend away. We all agreed we would one day love to live in a house like this and would defintately recommend it to others. It was clean and in excellent condition and perfectly situated within easy access of moreton-in-marsh. We were welcomed with a box of chocolates and bottle of wine and it didnt take long to spend our evening in the local pub. If you want to eat at the pub i would recommend booking in advance as it gets very busy. Whether your friends wanting a relaxing weekend or people looking to explore the Cotswolds this house is definately worth a visit.
Owner's Response: How fantastic to hear that every one enjoyed their stay at "Teachers" it is always great to hear such lovely comments. The local pub The Fox and Hounds is very well known and yes it is advisable to book in advance. We hope to welcome you back to Teachers shortly.

What can I say - amazing welcome to this stunning house. Beautifully furnished and great for a family party, fully equipped with games, near a great pub and some beautiful countryside for walking. We celebrated my mother's 60th birthday here and she was absolutely thrilled - I would definately recommend this to others and we are already dreaming about when we could next get away to this lovely house!
Owner's Response: Thank you for your lovely comments. "Teachers" is a great house for a special family celebration or get together. We look forward to welcoming new and returning guests back in the near future.

Christmas at Teachers House

Review Submitted: January 19, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
We spent a week at Teachers House for the Festive period. We had a fantastic time. The house easily accomodated 7 of us and we were able to spread out. The facilities were excellent - a proper home from home. The house was spotless and very well cared for. I liked the idea of an 'adults' lounge with no TV and a 'den' with an LCD TV and DVD player. All together a splendid Christmas break - Thank you very much.
Owner's Response: It is good to get such great feed back we have also received some lovely thank you notes from other guests who have enjoyed staying at "Teachers" over the recent months. We are happy to hear that guests of all ages are loving our house so much. We look forward to welcoming lots more of you in 2009.

My husband and I booked this property for a long weekend.

The description on the net was very accurate, it is a very beautiful property with plenty of room it is a lovely house which has been well maintained, very clean and exceptionally well equipped.

We thoroughly enjoyed this Cotswold home. It has lovely living areas and kitchen. Fabulous bedrooms and a wonderful garden area for eating alfresco. Everything was very clean and tidy. The bed linen and towels were of very good quality and were lovely and fresh. The decor is beautiful and the photographs on the website are very accurate (which is always good when booking a holiday on the internet).

The weekend was extremely relaxing and there was nothing to find fault in - having stayed in a range of 5 star hotels around the world I can say without a doubt that this compares very favourably. Perfect for the 'get away from it all' retreat. Fantastic we couldn’t fault it. We will definitely rebook this home.
