The Hideaway is a new home located in a private wooded setting behind the magnificent shifting sand dunes of Lake Michigan. We are surrounded by meandering trails that lead to the breathtaking views of the lakeshore from atop the dunes. The sugar sand beach is accessible in three locations. The Hideaway borders North Point Conservation area and Van Buren State Park where many hike to the beach. Just north is beach access with a shorter hike directly through the dunes. These are two great spots to watch the beautiful ever changing sunsets. For easier access, beach parking is only 1 mile away at the State Park with a paved walkway all the way to the beach.
Enjoy the outdoors with friends and family around the fire pit while roasting marshmallows. You'll notice that various birds, deer and wildlife enjoy the property too. Cook out on the gas grill in the evening then sit back on the deck or relax in the 8-person hot tub. The kids will enjoy the playground, sandbox and spacious yard. We offer Satellite and Cable TV with Blu Ray Player and VCR. We have plenty of movies, books and games available. Find adventure in the hiking and biking trails nearby or anchor your boat off shore and enjoy the beach. We are just south of South Haven, where you'll find beaches, restaurants, shopping, water sports, golf, biking trails and all that the beach town of South Haven has to offer.
The Hideaway sleeps 22 and offers 4 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The Master Suite is located on the main floor and includes a king size bed, jetted bathtub with separate shower and double sinks. A 1/2 bath is also located on the main floor. Three bedrooms are located upstairs with a second full bath. The second bedroom has two twin size bunk beds, the third bedroom has a queen size bed, and a very large fourth bedroom has four double beds with a large closet and room to spare. We have a walkout basement with a set of bunk-beds and 2 sleeper sofas.
Hi! We're Scott and Stacy. We've grown up in the area and love the lake shore so much we've not been able to move away. We've been married since 2005 and became parents in 2010. We've been renting homes since the summer of 2006. We enjoy camping, boating, and relaxing on the beach in the summer.
We purchased this property in 2007 after falling in love with the wooded area and the nature trails to the beach. It was a labor of love and by the summer of 2008 our house was finished. Our first rental season began the summer of 2012. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have!
We love having the opportunity to be so close to nature and enjoy watching birds, deer, turkey and other wildlife from our windows. The house is very private and surrounded by woods with a beautiful view of a large wooded dune from the front window. We also have a wall of windows in the great room so you can enjoy the scenery in the back yard. It's a great place to sit back and relax or for people who love to walk trails through the woods or enjoy sunsets from atop the dunes overlooking Lake Michigan.
