The house is tastefully decorated and fully accommodating for guests. It is a great place to make a large after-party breakfast and re-energize with the sun-filled rooms.
Main house: 2 bedrooms - 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds (can be pushed together for king bed), 1 double fold out couch in living. 1 full bathroom. Large equipped kitchen.

This charming home in South Austin was perfect for a weekend retreat with friends in from out of town. The house is lovely and spacious just as the photos indicate, and the huge kitchen has just about everything you could need...plus the local grocery store is a 2 minute walk, if that! We loved sitting out on the patio and enjoying the surrounding garden. The owner is very responsive and helpful, providing all the info we could need prior to our stay. Would definitely recommend a stay, and hope I have the opportunity to visit again!! Austinites, Houstonians, Virginians and New Yorkers agree - a wonderful place to stay for a fun Austin weekend!

House is as nice as the pictures. Roomy and quiet. Very convenient to stores, restaurants. grocery store around corner. Nice walk or quick drive to SoCo. This house is a great bargain. I would definitely stay there again.

A house with soul

We really liked the location: close to just about everything we were interested in, easy to get around, still has the feel of small-town Austin. The layout of the house worked very well for us for our two-month stay; we were able to arrange furniture so we had a work space at each end of the L-shaped great room. The studio apartment was handy when we had a guest. Living room furniture was comfortable and plentiful. The master br bed was very comfortable (didn’t try the others); the bed and bath linens were very nice.
On the downside were several details needing attention: There were no dressers in the bedrooms or studio so no place to stow away your stuff. The ice machine leaked, blender missing motor, no microwave, dining chairs needed repair, Internet service was uneven.
We drew these to the owner's attention and she said she is addressing our concerns. We hope so, as we would like to return.

Owner's Response: I super appreciate the positive feedback on the home, the location, the comfort etc over this guests two-month stay. I appreciate the feedback this renter has provided and trust that given reviews since their stay the issues they mentioned have been addressed or are clear to other renters through the amenities section on the rental page. We make every effort for the house to be cleaned to a "T", the photos to reflect the actual house and for you to be as comfortable as we are with our friends enjoying the house.
To address some of the concerns this longer-term renter has expressed: The two bedrooms and the back house all have closets with hangers. The master bedroom has a cabinet for clothes and two closets. My husband and I previously lived in the house full-time with the storage accessible to guests (and I tend to be a bit of a clothes hound). Each of the bedrooms has bedside tables with cabinet storage and the bathroom has ample room for toiletries. I do not list a blender or microwave as amenities but to substitute there are kitchenware items such a a hand-held blender and there is a microwave in the back house which these renters opted to bring into the main house (my husband and I are not microwave fans). That said, we have had families stay in the house do pre-wedding family dinners and Thanksgiving meals - as we have done ourselves. We have repaired the wiggliness of the dining room chairs since receiving this feedback and offer 4 extra chairs in perfect condition for guests who need to seat a large party. The internet service provider has since been changed because the ups and downs of service and I hope this corrects any fluctuations in the accessibility of the internet in the future.

What a wonderful holiday we spend at this adorable home! The pictures and description are perfect!! Clean, spacious, great location -- we especially loved the LARGE, well equipped kitchen! the covered patio & fenced yard! the location - 2 blocks from grocery! Beds were OH-SO-COMFY! And Jordin was a dream to work with -- quick to respond and so helpful! We used this home to host our family Thanksgiving and there was plenty of space to cook, eat and mingle! My 78 year old grandmother was comfortable, our young children enjoyed playing in the yard and older adults talked into the night under the patio. We all ate together in the great room comfortably.I highly recommend this home!!

The house was fabulous - plenty of space, accurate photos, walking distance to South Congress shops, easy to call cabs. The back patio and yard is nice. Jordan, the owner is very flexible and great to work with.

We put off finding accommodations in Austin until the last minute. So very glad we did. Otherwise, we might have ended up staying someplace else instead of this lovely home that suited us so well.
To a family from New York, the house was wonderfully spacious. We didn't mind at all having to be home early to put our preschooler to bed, because it meant we got to lounge in the bright living room and hang out together. We took advantage of the little side yard for an outdoor breakfast and some relaxation in the hammock.
We made the decision not to rent a car for the trip and, for the most part, we didn't come to regret it. The house is a quick stroll to all the cool shops on South College. There's plenty of good restaurants within walking distance and, for the times we had to go farther afield, the bus was more than adequate.
The construction going on right outside the place was the only slightly down note, but that was scheduled to end the same day we left, so subsequent guests will not have the same early-morning heavy machinery wake-up that we did.
We had a blast in Austin; we want to go back and we would without hesitation book this house again.

Felt right at home!

I was lucky enough to book this place last minute for a wedding that my friends and I were attending. From the outside, I did not know what to expect since the property looked a little old, but the moment I opened the door, I was very pleased!
The place has a very spacious living area and kitchen (all very clean) that was perfect for all of us to gather at once and enjoy without feeling cramped. There was also plenty of room when it came down to the sleeping situation. The home also provided us with all the necessities for the weekend- towels, glassware, toilet paper, etc. so we didn't need to worry about bringing our own.
Even better, the house is conveniently located within minutes to every part of Austin you'd want to explore - South Congress, Lake Austin, Downtown, etc.
The owner was very sweet and called on my check-in day and after my stay to make sure everything met our expectations.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a centrally located accommodation with plenty of space. The only reason I did not give the property 5 stars is that I wish the yard would have been maintained a little better. Other than that very minor issue, I loved the place!

Great place to stay! Close to everything you need.

We absolutely loved this place! Not only was it decorated great, but it is located in a perfect spot! 2 blocks from the grocery store; walking/biking distance to some great local spots, and the bus comes right by the house.
There were 4 adults and 4 kids staying at the house, and it was extremely comfortable. The kids loved the hammock outside and a kitty that kept visiting. We didn't really think there would be veggies in the gardens, but there was! The kids kept coming inside with carrots and washing them off and feeding them to us! So cute! The garden was such a pretty part of the yard.
Everything we needed was provided. We loved how everything (dishwasher soap, laundry soap, etc.) was environmentally friendly. Made me smile :)
The owner, Jordan, kept us up to date on everything, and was always available. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We had a fantastic time. The indian food restaurant nearby was GREAT!
We easily made it to the Aveda school, and all had spa treatments at discounted prices (it was about a 15 min drive) which was awesome!

The owners of this precious South Austin bungalow (so centrally located) couldn't have been more hospitable. We loved our stay here! It's smack dab in the middle of everything -- between hip SoCo and South 1st. Close to all the action, yet a little oasis! Super comfy master bed + a new washer/dryer. We're loving this!
