Just 1 short block from Duval Street the Southernmost Retreat is a recently renovated and decorated 3 bedroom, 2 bath house located Simonton Street. The Southernmost Retreat is located in the Simonton Historic Cottages enclave and is surrounded by fine restaurants, art galleries, shopping and in the center of the Old Town District. Two of the Queen bedrooms share an en-suite bath that can be entered from either bedroom. It features a very large walk-in shower. The 3rd bedroom features a Full size bed, en-suite bath, wall mounted flat screen TV and private entrance, as well.

The small but adequate living room has a TV/VCR/Stereo and a Queen sleeper sofa. Adjacent is the completely equipped kitchen that has granite counter tops, stove, microwave and refrigerator. Even wine and champagne glasses are included! A gas BBQ grill outside in the garden area is perfect to cook a tasty meal of fresh local seafood or your favorite meal. A bicycle lock-up in the courtyard is available.

Blocks from the marina district, an easy walk (.7 miles) to Ft. Zachary Taylor where Australian Pines tower over the beach. There is on street parking available. There is no need for the use of a car as you can walk to all the downtown attractions (Hemmingway House .28 miles, Duval Street 1 block, Marina District 7 blocks, beach .7 miles).

There is a health food store located directly across the street called 'The Sugar Apple' which serves fresh fruit smoothies, lunch, and offers a variety of health food.

The cottage was very well located and we really enjoyed our stay in Key West thanks to it. We spent only two days there and wished we could stay longer ! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wish to stay within walking distance from the lively part of Key West.

We loved our stay in this little apartment, which felt like a cottage. It's close to the action but not right in the craziness of Duval (and this was during spring break) The house (especially the kitchen) are well-stocked and had everything we needed. The one potential drawback is that there's no indoor dining area, so if the weather had been hot (or lots of bugs had been out) dining might not have been too comfortable. However there are two patio areas with outdoor tables and chairs, and since the weather was perfect when we were there, we enjoyed dining al fresco. One is covered so even though it rained a bit, eating outside was lovely.

Arrived to KW after bike week and arrived at the rental. It was absolutely PERFECT. No disclaimers necessary because it was exactly as stated and shown. It was small but since you don't spend hours inside you have a great mix... very clean and really convenient to everything you want to see. If you don't want to walk, rental right on the corner for mopeds or whatever. Need stuff, CVS right there also. We will do this one again.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Had a blast as always in Key West. Been going for years and decided to skip the hotel and try a house.
Arrived on Wednesday and left Sunday- Perfect place for us, just off Duval!
We will be back next year!

had a problem with the maid service, it was a bit smaller than i envisioned, but it worked. did alot of walking to the action. all in all we had a wonderful time.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing
Owner's Response: There was a delay in the maid service but the traveler was refunded an extra $100.

Just returned from a long weekend here; wonderful accomodations for the price. While it was a little further from "the action" than we expected, it was also nice and quiet to return to, after our nights down at the rowdy end of Duval. Very clean, well equipped, a little small, as advertised, but who goes to Key West to hang out in the house!!
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

This place is great! Location can't be beat, very walkable and a fun neighborhood to explore. Clean and updated, and just far enough off Duval (1 block) so it is quiet and there is plenty of parking. BBQ grill, kitchen & fridge all helped us save a few $$. Even though the rooms are not huge, we had more than enough space with 4 adults and 1 child. We will definitely go back.

This small (as advertised), but comfortable cottage was perfect for 6 of us to stay in Key West. The location is perfect - close to everything. It was clean and comfortable. Who wants to be inside with so much to do outside in the keys?!? My only concern is that the 2 front bedrooms face a fairly busy street, so there is some street noise - my wife and I live on 2 acres in suburban PA and are not used to street noise. My son and daughter, who live in Philadelphia and DC didn’t even notice. Although we had a car, we walked everywhere, and saw a good deal of this unique and beautiful town in just a few days. Highly recommended.
