My favorite Get-Away!
Angie and Tim are proud owners of this property, and expect that guests will treat the cabin and property with respect. As a result, the cabin is furnished with the highest quality appointments, pictures, decorations and always looks great. This truly feels like you are visiting a friend's home. If you are rough or destructive with others' property or do not like picking up after yourself, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
The cabin is secluded with no internet, no cell service - that translates to no interruptions from all those day-to-day nuisances. Emergencies and staying connected is managed by a landline phone and satellite TV.
Whether you sit and watch the fire in the fireplace, have a fire outside, enjoy just watching nature from the porch, or getting into nature by hiking, fishing, or swimming, it is all there and all up to you. I personally enjoy the seclusion, quiet, and relaxation that comes easily at Broken Arrow.
I am in my mid fifties and my girlfriend and I have stayed there several times. I brought my mother last summer. She is in her mid 70's and has a little trouble walking and getting out of chairs. Stairs are not her friend. But we worked within those limitations and she had a wonderful time. If you have some physical restrictions, the first floor has all you need (master bedroom, living room, kitchen and dining room, bathroom) and are easily accessed. The entertainment room (TV, video game) and Loft may be challenging with the steps. The property from the cabin to the lake is kept just like a lawn, and access to the lake is easy but is on an incline.
The cabin is laid out for children and families, and with the swimming, fishing, and large well kept lawn, they will have a wonderful time as well! The area has a lot of things to visit, such as shopping just across the river and in Zanesville, historic sites, several locks on the river, state park, etc.
I cannot say enough about the property, and how Angie and Tim maintain it and want to ensure guests have a good time. The only problem I have in sharing this review is that getting a reservation may be more difficult as others find this gem in the woods!
