Perfect home for us and our 5 children! Great location, close to all of the local amusement parks/zoo, etc. Very close drive to the beach, but honestly the kids didn't really want to leave the pool! We actually only used the beach one day. Have to be watchful of small children on the back deck, but would not keep me from renting this place again! My kids LOVED the loft and the owners were very accommodating with setting up the beds as we requested. Great communication with the owners. Yes, it is on a busy street, but the front yard is completely enclosed and provides optimum privacy! I forgot we were even on a busy street especially since we went in and out of the garage in the back of the house. We greatly appreciated the cleanliness of this place, especially after a not so great experience in another rental this August :-( Overall, great experience. If we ever find ourselves in Southern, CA again we will definitely return!

Since we booked almost 1 year in advance, we had our pick of rentals, and we chose this house based on location, amenities, and past positive reviews. We couldn't have stayed at a more perfect house with our small children. Clean, tons of space, nice appliances, plus the kids adored the heated pool/hot tub, swing, turtles and various sandtoys/boogie boards. We spent almost every happy hour on the back deck and ate most meals on the funky patio just off the kitchen. Plus, Todd and Marna (owners) were so gracious, always answering our questions and offering to help us in anyway - they have a great sense of humor and artistic style too! I highly recommend this house to any family looking for a home away from home in San Diego. The only thing to note is that this house is on a busy street (but with lots of privacy) and you will hear traffic noise.

The house was more than perfect for our family vacation. It seriously has EVERYTHING you need and you just have to pack your clothes and toiletries. The pool was the perfect temperature to swim in and I just can't say how kid friendly this home (and the owners) are. My two sons loved the house and it was a great place for their cousins to come hang out with us too! Enough space that everyone felt they had privacy but weren't on top of each other. They were so quick to respond to any and all questions and made our vacation spectacular!

Out of all the places we have rented in the past, this was our absolute favourite. Todd was very accommodating, and his attention to detail is unsurpassed. He kindly allowed us to have a mid-week arrival (thanks so much again Todd!). Everything was in order - extra pool heat, cleaned grill. The kitchen was great - fully equipped and highly usable - even had a stocked pantry - coffee, sugar, salt, spices, oil, flour etc. The house is large, with lots of cool nooks and crannies. The kids loved the "loft" and the swing, and fell in love with the turtles. Weather was cooler than expected, but we still swam almost every day. Better weather would have made the stay even more enjoyable - the outdoor space (front and back) and the deck are fantastic. Del Mar is a beautiful little town on the Cali coast - we went to Seaworld, the Zoo, Legoland and the USS Midway (awesome!) - will be visiting again!

Perfect house for us! We enjoyed every minute of our time at the Del Mar house. Our family came from Boston to spend some time with our new baby. The house was spacious, clean, well-stocked with everything we could need and more. The older kids loved the pool so much they didn't even ask to go to the beach. The owners were wonderful from communication to instructions for everything in the house. We will definitely try to rent this place again with a large group. As usual, we ended up hanging out in the kitchen. I would LOVE to take that stove home. Lots of meals, laughs, and memories made. Thanks!

Totally Great Experience overall! We all loved this house, the kids loved the loft and all the books. They were never bored! They enjoyed the art room with toys and art supplies, great movie collection and lots of reading material to the pool and spa! Attention to detail from the owner Todd, very friendly and accomodating! Del Mar is a magical place. All ages would love this house, it is stocked with everything you need! We will be back.

We cannot say enough good words about our recent 10 day stay. The house is truly magical for kids
and adults alike. We would recommend this house to anyone looking to spend time in Del Mar. Every visitor that arrived, and we had quite some from del mar, walked away saying what a spectacular place It is perfectly located close to beach, restaurants and stores and most importantly the house is complete with all the household goods that are often lacking in vacation rental homes. The owners (Todd and Marna) go out of their way to help make your stay completly hassle free and have done a great proactive job in answering many of the questions that renters have when entering a house in an easy to understand manual. We had not one issue with anything during our stay
For our kids the pool, creativity room (filled with arts and crafts supplies), Vince and Nancy (resident
turtles), books and dvd collections provided entertainment when not at the beach or sight-seeing and
the Loft provided the perfect retreat after a long day in the sun.

For adults, the back deck staring at the Pacific in the evenings with a fire pit, the front outside seating
in the morning and the balcony off the master, pool and jacuzzi are for adult serenity. The rooms are complete as pictured and although we didnt take full advantage (we had max 8 and could have doubled) are able to comfortably accomodate a large group as advertised.

We drove to the beach where parking at Torrey Pines and 15th-22nd street was much easier than
we ever anticipated (note we have kids 8,3 and 1). If our young ones were a little older we could also walk.

In summary, our kids are asking when we can come back to see Vince and Nancy and we adults loved it so we will be returning visitors which ultimately is the best indicator of how much we enjoyed our stay. Counting down to summer 2012.

We have rented homes all over the world. This was our best rental experience. The owners of this property are two of the nicest people we have ever met. They are absolutely honest and helpful. We stayed for a month and even got to feed their pet tortoises. We had family in all the time, and one night the entire extended familywas comfortably accommodated. The kids LOVED the loft. The house has wonderful, with contemporary art touches all around. The beds are all very comfortable. It is quiet at night. The pool and spa are tended to very carefully. They love dogs and our Labradoodle, Tess, loved their home. The kitchen is to die for (I do all the cooking.)

It is close to everything. Walk downtown, shopping center and restaurants, off street parking. It is ten minutes to the race track and the beach is even closer. Off street parking, WiFi works great and from the back patio you can watch the sunsets from one of the highest points in town. We spent a month, but any length of time would be very enjoyable. This place is a real find, and the owners will treat you like old friends.
