80 m2 apartment with amazing big terrace located in the old city of Syracuse, the island of Ortigia. Only few steps walking distance to the sea and lovely swimming access, 2 kilometres from the train station of Siracusa, 55km from Catania Airport (40min driving distance). Located in a narrow typical street of Ortigia, that opens onto Piazza Duomo, the heart of Ortigia, where are located pizzerias, restaurants, daily market, supermarkets, delicious ice creams shops, 5min walking distance to the main monuments in Ortigia, like the old Castello Maniace, the Bellomo Museum, 10min driving distance to the Neapolis archaeological park of Siracusa, Archeological Museum Paolo Orsi 20min driving distance to the sandy beaches of Arenella and Fontane Bianche 30 km from the baroque city of Noto.

1.5 hour driving distance to Taormina and to Ragusa 44 km from the baroque village of palazzolo Acreide. Terrace of 120 m2, eqipped with tables, chairs and sunbeds where guests can spend lovely relaxing time viewing spectacular sunset.

The view of the sea and the harbour from the terrace of this apartment made our holiday. We ate on the spacious terrace nearly every night and the sunsets were always a delight. We were around the corner from the central Piazza del Duomo and close to all the best restaurants, and yet it was wonderfully quiet because we were so high up. Our beds were comfortable, the kitchen was easy to use and everything worked well. There are about 70 not too steep steps up to the apartment and access to it is through a floor owned by our landlords, brothers Stefano and Claudio - an unusual arrangement, but it felt absolutely OK almost immediately. Stefano and Claudio were terrific and couldn't have been more helpful. Anything we needed was provided immediately plus they were both really nice. We had a wonderful time.

Our little family (me, wife to be and and our 8 month old son) stayed in this lovely place during the months of May and June 2012 - it was an adventure of a lifetime and made even more fantastic by this lovely apartment.
We really can't recommend it highly enough, Stefano the owner and Claudio his brother responded to our every request - not that we had many (the fridge broke down and a new one was provided within a day, the internet connection occasionally failed and was fixed right away)
The terrace views are amazing and you have it all to yourselves! - Only you have to walk up 69 steps to get to the apartment but it is so worth it. We managed with a baby!

To access the apartment you have to go through the apartment below, which feels strange at first as someone may be in residence - but you soon get used to it.

The bedroom was a good size and the kitchen was well kitted out with everything you need to cater for yourself - and with that fish market on your doorstep you have to make use of it.
The bathroom was also good - no problems with a shower and the obligatory Italian bidet thrown in for good measure
A/C provided in both living room and bedroom worked a treat.

The pictures are exactly how it is.

Tip - we drove, so had a car, and there is no parking close by but you can park free on certain roads over by the Talete car park, its only a 10 minute walk.

Deservedly five stars.
