Is cleaning and fixing the condo called a vacation?
Maria and Eddie, the nicest of people, were at our unit about four or five times for hours on three different days. The 1st day, exhausted from traveling almost 20 hrs we had to call them to remove the water off the floor in kitchen and dining rm. and they kept us up till nearly 1 o'clock in the morning that first night. 2 days later my wife nearly slipped and fell. She actually thought it would be dry - flooded again and we are tring to mop it up, so they came and "fixed" it. And the next day, after I told him how to fix it water kept on reappearing again - he didn't do the fix I gave him. Then he can in the afternoon with another (very nice) guy. Some vacation, 3 of 6 days wasted on that stuff.
One noisy toilet kept running all the time, I tried to fix it - WHY am I doing this? I had Eddie come out to fix that too. We never got hot water at the kitchen sink not even warm. Toaster doesn't work right, also the badly calcified coffee maker. Of course those are trial, but the rest isn't. There's more trivia I'll skip, like only one 15w bulb in 1 full bathroom (try to shave with that).
I dropped a few crumbs on the carpet in the living room. I wanted to vacuum it up but the vacuum was seriously broken. So I was sweeping it up and the dust that rose from the carpet was so bad I needed mask. That carpet could not have been vacuumed in years. It never should have been there in that condition: wash, or toss it out. A couple chairs stained or too dirty to sit on.
The filthy floors never permit walking barefoot. If you did, that would bring all that filth into the bed. I had to sweep unbelievable amount of visible dirt off the floor. Told Maria about the stained towels that appeared not to be washed; but there they were, she agreed they were bad and took them but not returned.
I did not plan to come there, pay for a vacation and spend 1/2 the time at the owner's condo to fix and wash it. He asked what he can do to make it right! The guests at the pool (B , P, L (abbr names) ) felt a reimbursement was in order. He has given nothing, not even thanks for putting up with such an experience. They did offer, after a couple days, to give us a different unit, but we didn't want to pack all our stuff and move it and risk cleaning another unit.
I'm curious to see what excuses will pop up in response.
Owner's Response: Thanks for taking the time to write about your experience. We took your observations very seriously and fire the cleaning crew in charge of the apartment immediately and bought a new vacuum cleaner. We also got a Refrigeration Technician (the nice guy you mentioned) to see why the water kept showing when we closed the water intake valve to the refrigerator the first day in. He could not find anything either. The saddle valve was in perfect working conditions. Until today, it is a mystery as of where did the water came from. Go figure! Thanks for mentioning in your review that the toaster is defective and the calcified coffee maker, we will look into it and replace them.
