Great Ski Weekend with Friends

5 of 5
Submitted: March 18, 2013 Stayed: February 2013
After looking at several houses near Killington, a group of friends and I chose this house for our ski weekend - and we couldn't have been happier with our decision to go "off the grid."

The lower level is a perfect blend of functionality and fun - with plenty of room for all of our ski/snowboard stuff and a pool table, ping pong table, and darts. Upstairs was more of the same - a beautiful, open kitchen/living room with more than enough room for everyone to hang out and enjoy the wood stove and music on the speaker system.

Being in our 20s, it was SO refreshing to not have any service/cable/internet. We got to sit around, play cards, and talk to each other without everyone constantly checking their phones. (You don't realize how much you use your phone, check your apps, log in to social media until you don't have the option - and it was so nice to not have the option for just a few days!)

The house was clean upon arrival, the heat worked well throughout the weekend, and after it had snowed about 5" Saturday night, there was a plow clearing the driveway first thing on Sunday morning.

Overall, it a really great, affordable weekend with friends and the perfect getaway in VT. Brian was super helpful and a pleasure to work with from start to finish - we look forward to returning to this hidden gem of a house in the future!

Thanksgiving Get-Away 2012

We had a great time. The cabin accommodated our group perfectly. With small children we choose to eat at the cabin for most meals and the kitchen was more than adequate to handle the job (not to mention a respectable Thanksgiving dinner). We hiked, saw a few deer, visited the farmer’s market, shopped downtown Woodstock, visited Billings Farm, and stopped at King Arthur Flour on the way home. The game room got lots of use and we even managed to roast a few marshmallows over the fire pit out back. The kids had a great time and the adults had a few hours to ourselves in the evening.

It was a nice weekend

Great weekend away from it all

I wanted a weekend away from it all, and this house provided exactly that. Its location was ideal (remote, but still close enough to recreational activities and shops and necessities). The house itself was spacious, quiet, clean and pretty. The woodburning stove really warms the house and adds to the charm of staying in a log home. Everything in the house was functional (fridge, appliances, stove, plumbing, etc). The owner was extremely helpful, communicative and answered any questions I had in a timely manner. All in all, I had a great stay here, would recommend it to others and will probably (hopefully) stay here again!

Perfect Family Getaway in the Mountains

5 of 5
Submitted: July 9, 2012 Stayed: July 2012
My family and I were very excited to visit Vermont and this was the perfect place to stay. The property was clean, made me feel at home and has a beautiful view of the mountains and even in July, we had the windows open and enjoyed a nice breeze. My husband and I enjoyed disconnecting from the internet, cell phones, tv, etc. We had a great time in the game room, our girls 15 & 6 loved playing ping-pong; who would have thought :) Plus they enjoyed making smores in the fire pit. We were close to the town of Woodstock (10mins), which is such a quaint, cute little town and was able to visit Quechee Gorge and Sugarbush Farms as well as a drive to the Killington Resort to check out the view. My family and I had a great vacation and only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. The owner is very helpful, easy to do business with and mailed us a map and pamphlets of things to do; which came in handy!

Gorgeous affordable home

We booked the cabin with 6 friends and had an amazing weekend.
When we arrived it was snowing and the road up to the house was magical. After some exploring we found it and were just amazed by how large, beautiful and clean the house was. Perfect for several couples. All appliances we could think of were present. Sitting at the fireplace looking out of the beautiful surroundings we really felt like we on holiday. Plenty of games for a nice evening at home, including a ping pong and pool table! The house is close enough to the ski area but just secluded enough to have a nice rest and feel like you're in the middle of the mountains.

Couldn't recommend this place enough. We'll very likely come back next year..so the only reason why I wouldn't recommend it highly is because I don't want it to be booked :-)

Off the Grid

Excellent place to get away from busy city and people. Home has everything that is needed to comfortably relax and spend time with family and friends while enjoying nature. View of the starts in simply incredible, quiet surroundings and fresh air. Might need 4 wheel drive to get to the property. Owner is very friendly and reasonable explaining things as they are. Strongly recommend if you need to disconnect from the modern world!
