Overlooking the Green Mountain National Forest, this newly built home is perfect for a romantic couple's getaway or an adventure. The house is located inside the Green Mountain National Forest and the Breadloaf Wilderness is truly just outside the door. It is perfect for the backcountry ski enthusiast and/or hiker, and close to all major popular ski areas,swimming holes, hiking trails (The Long Trail), and several quintessential Vermont villages nearby.
House Details: The house is ideal for a couple. There is a master bedroom with a king size bed (third floor). There is a den on the first floor. The main floor of the house, comprises of the living/dining area, kitchen and bathroom.
The house has central heating, washer/dryer, dishwasher, all modern amenities.
There is currently no internet or cable TV, but there is AT&T cell phone service as well as a land line. Cable and Internet connection can be arranged at an additional cost to the renter
There is an iPod dock attached to the stereo so you can enjoy your own music.
There is a DVD player and a respectable collection that includes classics as well as current films. For the analog fan there is also a VHS collection as well as player to also watch on the TV provided.
For power emergencies there is an in house propane powered generator system with automatic transfer switching.
Surrounding Area: The Breadloaf Wilderness is the largest wilderness area in the State of Vermont - over 23,000 acres - right outside the door. The two front decks of the house hold spectacular western views of the Presidential Mount Wilson. Bring a telescope if you have one - star gazing any time of the year is a real treat.
In the winter, there is full equipment rentals available in the nearby town of Rochester - ice skates, x-country skis, snowshoes, etc. In addition outback skiing tours can be arranged with owner.
