Do the math: what would it cost you to rent 3 little hotel rooms for 3 couples for a night? Now compare that with what it costs to rent this entire house (3 bedrooms, each with private bath and a little kitchenette; a double kitchen; a large dining/entertainment area complete with a pool table and satellite TV; an indoor 8 person hot-tub; plus a washer and dryer) for a night.

Now figure out how much time you'll spend each day driving back and forth if you stay outside the park. If you haven't done that before, it's a considerable amount of time, especially in the summer when the park is crowded and traffic backs up. Compare that with staying in Yosemite West, which is just a few minutes away from one of the main roads that cuts through the park.

Add to it that from start to finish you deal personally with Holly, the owner, who genuinely wants you and your group to have a comfortable, trouble-free time and encourages you to contact her with any questions or problems. Plus you're not in a crowded commercial area with traffic zipping by. You're pretty much in a residential community in the kind of setting you go to Yosemite to see in the first place.

The only things I marked down a point below are the kitchen because the indoor grill on the gas stove wouldn't light the night we wanted to grill some nice pork chops we'd bought, and the indoor hot tub, which seemed not to have been used or serviced recently. In fairness I should say we could have been mistaken about that, and if I'd called her, which I didn't, I'm confident Holly would have addressed it.

I'll sum it up this way. The previous time we went to Yosemite we stayed at the ahwahnee. If we were turning around and going back next week with more than two of us, we'd head straight to the Enchanted Forest (Upper).

My family stayed here at Enchanted Forest in July, 2012. This home was absolutely fabulous, exactly what we were hoping for based on the photos. The floors were spotless, the beds were comfortable, plush actually, and everything worked. Towels were plentiful, cabinets were stocked, and hot tub was filled, clean and ready for use.

My brother stayed at another similar home down the way and had a very unpleasant experience, which in comparison made clear how great Enchanted Forest really was.

The owner (Holly) and housekeeper (Danna) were falling over themselves to be helpful. I was quite impressed by their attention to all details. I can’t give this place enough stars. Enchanted Forest was hands down the perfect choice for our Yosemite vacation!

We enjoyed our stay in the upper floor of the "Enchanted Forest" very much. While not in the valley floor, the location was very convenient, not too far from the main sightseeing attractions in the park. The place was clean, quiet and very well equipped.

We hope that we can return in the spring while the waterfalls are active!

We were three friends sharing upper enchanted forest. The unit could have accommodated many more. The kitchen was stocked better than my home. Location was good. Owner is very hands on. We didn't require local assistance, but that was also available. Would stay there again if visiting the area. Very clean and well appointed. Quiet area convenient to all Yosemite attractions.

I never did get to say thanks for everything. I've been so busy since our vacation. It was a wonderful place. It was quiet I actually got in the hot tub it was awesome, so big! My husband and kids want one now.....even though the kids are grown I could barely get them out each night. The beds were awesome as was the pool table! The view at sunset was beautiful, I took a pic I should send it you, reds and blues just as beautiful as could be, my husband and I sat there with my daughters and watched till it disappeared, we went in when we thought we heard a some twigs breaking haha bc we saw 2 bear, and a coyote (huge) in the Valley! It was nice to stay right in yosemite. We never got to see it all, but when we get back there I will certainly stay at your place again. Thanks again and take care.

Lovely three bedrooms with three bathrooms. Very nicely decorated, comfortable beds. So many details the owner provides. Our family had a great time. The location is excellent to go everywhere in Yosemite. The gourmet kitchen equipped for a crowd. Double refrigerator, double dishwashers. Many extras!!! The pool table is nice to have. Truly enjoyed it during the Memorial Day week-end. We were lucky!!! We even had snow the day we arrived.!

This was our first vacation rental after staying at various resorts/hotels, but our second trip to Yosemite. We were very pleased with the house. We stayed in the upstairs property (two flights of stairs outside to reach). It was spacious - dining room table seats 12 guests, kitchen has double Sub Zero fridge, two dishwashers, two trash compactors - could easily entertain or have several people staying here. The hot tub is great after a long day of hiking. A fireplace made for cozy evenings when it was cool outside. No a/c, but we didn't need it at this elevation. There were three bedrooms and three bathrooms - all clean and well appointed. Two bedrooms had doors that you could walk out onto a deck. Each deck had table and chairs. The living room had a pool table, tv with direct tv, a library of Dvd's, some books and magazines, and some board games. The house was very clean and we had clear instructions printed out and set on the kitchen counter with contact information (in case of emergencies or if we needed help with anything). Holly did a great job communicating with us - providing info about getting to the place, what's in the area, and of keeping us notified if anything would affect the property. If I were to change anything about this home, I'd add sheer drapes in the kitchen. Just personal preference, but it was different for us, not having lived in a development, to look out from kitchen and see the next duplex (there are three). It wasn't disruptive - this is a residential street and rather quiet. That very minor item is the only thing I could think of changing after spending 6 nights here - it was a relaxing place to stay and family friendly. As our first experience with a vacation rental, we would definitely stay again. Holly and her two property caretakers took great care in making everything comfortable - it helped make for a great vacation.

Great town home in Yosemite west! Fun indoor hot tub, great gourmet kitchen, huge dinning room table that was great for our family reunion and wonderful comfortable beds. Had a pool table too. Only minutes from Badger pass. Great fun for the whole family and we had ages 7-89, everyone was happy! One of the more upscale homes in yosemite west. Owner was very helpful and nice.
