For grocery shopping nothing is better than the typical colored banks of fruit, vegetables, fresh bread, milk, meat and cheese located inside the nineteenth century building of the Mercato Centrale, right in front of you. (Mon-Sat 7am-2pm, Sat 4pm-8pm). There is plenty of fresh produce, cured meat, and local cheese to be sampled and purchased from a variety of vendors.
You can also consider that in Via Ginori there is a market which is open everyday until 7:00 p.m., even on Sunday.

Of Florentine origin, I left my home town for love and adventure. I'm an art historian and I live in Montevarchi (Arezzo), a small town in the Chianti area, not too far from Florence.
I bought Casa Luce because I grew up in Florence and I love my town so much. I didn't buy it only for rental purposes: I often come to Florence myself-alone or with friends- for a relaxing weekend, for a special dinner or to visit an art exhibition.
