Fully equipped, furnished with antiques, mural, sleigh bed, and fine linens. Private parking. Excellent location just one block from the heart of downtown Ashland, the famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival theater, 100-acre beautiful Lithia Park, quaint shops, and many gourmet restaurants. Southern Oregon University is also nearby in Ashland.
Jory & Julie Kaplan: Jory and I work in the medical field in Redding, CA. We escape to Ashland as often as we can to relax. We enjoy quiet time and travel with our children. We love to walk around Lithia Park and go to the theatre with our family. We cherish older homes and are very excited to own a 1900 Historic Ashland Home, and to share it with you.
We love Ashland! We hope you enjoy our lovely Victorian Vacation home! This home has drawn our attention for years, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. It was called the 'Coleman-Mulit' home, and was built in 1900 by Mr. John Coleman.
The Register states, 'John Coleman purchased this lot from G.W. Gillette in 1899 and soon thereafter the local newspaper noted, 'John Coleman will immediately build on his Church Street lot. He plans a substantial residence and foundations are already underway.' {Ashland Tidings, 22-Jun-1899, 3:1} Coleman, operated a canning plant in Ashland with his brother. He sold this house in 1904. In 1906 Lloyd and Gertrude Mulit purchased the property, which they retained as their residence until 1924. The Coleman-Mulit House is a large two-story vernacular ell with a projecting front gable, accented by a full-height projecting bay. Modest Queen-Anne detailing is evident in the complex form, eave bracketry and the 'pent' roof'
Advantages of renting an entire home:: Unlike a B&B or hotel, you have an entire Victorian home to yourself! Cook in the full kitchen or walk around the corner to enjoy amazing restaurants and attractions.
