Heaven on Earth

This was my first experience booking a vacation home on the internet. I was extremely cautious. I couldn't believe this place could be real. IT IS!!! Karen and Terry were so kind guiding me through the process. We had an incredible week in their magnificent estate. We did a lot of cooking in both the house kitchen (with gorgeous dining room) and out door pool house kitchen with wood fire pizza oven. We not only did pizzas in the oven but roasted a leg of lamb. The house and 5 acre grounds are amazing. The art work, and details in and around the estate, well you could spend a week just exploring and relaxing and never leave the place. Indeed, we kind of hurried our days of sight seeing so we could get back. The location is a bit off the beaten trail, which makes it even more inviting. Yet close to shopping, sightseeing, wine tasting, a great hub for a southern France visit. The thing I liked least about our visit was after our week, we had to leave and return to reality. We hope to return.

A splendid Villa in Provence!

We stayed at Villa Fontaine in mid June. We were celebrating a special family occasion and it could not have been more perfect. We were six adults and our four month old granddaughter. The setting is secluded, but magnificent, in a large well cared for garden. The villa is modern, with five very well appointed bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom. It looks exactly as it does in the photos! The backyard pool and outdoor kitchen was a gathering place for our evening rose wine and charcuterie!!
The kitchen is extremely well equipped, and we had most of our meals in the home gathering the food at the local markets each day. The location, about 10 K north of Aix is on the edge of the Luberon Valley Celony, the closest village (about 3 K), has excellent boulangerie, fresh market and wine store. There are close restaurants, and Karen has made a list of her favorites! The home is well cared for and we were met by the caretaker on the first day. The housekeeper came daily which was very much appreciated.
Karen is very responsive to emails about any questions you might have prior to or during your stay
We would very much recommend Villa Fontaine for families or a group of friends who would like luxurious accommodation in a great location

Even better than it looks

We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Fontaine for four weeks from mid-August to mid-September, 2011. The photos of the villa do not do it justice - it is far more impressive in reality. The grounds are amazing, acres of beautifully maintained grass and trees of every variety. Our kids loved playing hide-and-seek, soccer etc. and we loved that the villa is secluded and fenced in. The pool area and outdoor kitchen make you feel like you are at an exclusive boutique hotel. We ate almost all of our meals outdoors in the perfect Provence weather. The villa itself is grandiose but cozy at the same time, with artwork, decor and personal touches that keep things interesting for the duration of the stay. And of course, that wine cellar, full of well-chosen and inexpensive wines.

The owners, Terry and Karen, went out of their way to accommodate. When we arrived, we noted that there were not enough lounges by the pool for our group and within minutes, Karen had gone out and bought new ones for us. She was always available by phone or email to recommend restaurants, outings and even her personal doctors. As for the location, it really is ideal. The villa is a few minutes from Aix, a great town to walk around in, and within an hour's drive of at least 8 or 10 other interesting towns and dozens of small villages. If you have kids, this is THE villa to rent for all the reasons above and for all the kid-friendly activities in the area. Can you tell we loved our stay?

How do you describe a house that is absolutely perfect in every respect? The adjectives one can use would go on and on. This chateau is tucked away amongst other beautiful homes behind its own gate and is very secluded. Your first impression is one of awe and knowing you haven't made a mistake by coming to Aix en Provence and in particular this chateau.

If you're fortunate enough to meet the owners husband and wife team, Karen Warhol and Terry Buder, then you've really hit the jackpot. They are extremely accommodating and most anxious to please. The comforts they have afforded you by sharing their home are luxurious. Staying here allows you to be completely relaxed without a care in the world and to enjoy the surroundings, the beauty, magnificence and excitement of Aix en Provence itself.

The chateau is beautifully appointed. The simple fact that you're in France allows for a wealth of incredible eating experiences and Karen's kitchen invites you to dabble into fine cuisine yourself. There's even a wine cellar at your disposal!

So, stop looking at other rentals. You've already found the perfect one!

A Vacation Chateau fit for royalty

We spent a week in Provence this summer at Villa Fontaine, which far exceeded our every expectation!
The grande opulence of the villa's exterior facade resembles a royal chateau belying the warmth of its interiors where the owners, Karen and Terry Warhol, have cleverly blended antiquity with modernity in every aspect.
The villa has five lovely bedrooms which lead onto a terrace or patio where we enjoyed our morning coffee with hot croissants from the local bakery. The cozy den with loads of movies, the sophisticated formal lounge with its fine pieces of art and a grand piano , a state of the art kitchen with all modern amenities, added to the luxury of the villa. The poolside flanked by a summer kitchen with a wood fired oven is perfect for outdoor entertaining or even just sitting around sipping sundowners whilst watching wild rabbits scampering in the adjacent gardens.
We were also given access to the wine cave with over 1000 bottles of excellent wines, surpassing the selection available at most restaurants.
The perfect location of Villa Fontaine with its close proximity to Aix-en Provence, Marseilles, Luberon and many vineyards made it very convenient to tour the area.
On the whole , thanks to Karen and Terry who gave us all the help and advice we needed, this has been one of our most amazing vacations ! Its been a truly Provencal experience, be it Villa Fontaine with its heady scents of lavender and pine ,or the fantastic restaurants and vineries reccomended by the owners or simply soaking in the sun, sights and sounds of the countryside !
We will definitely be back next summer but this time our stay will be longer as one week was just not enough !
Thank You Karen and Terry !

This glorious villa has everything you could want -- beautiful furnishings and art, lots of indoor and outdoor space to afford privacy even to a large group of vacation-goers, a big, lovely pool and deck, gourmet kitchen (supplemented by a pizza oven in the pool house), and a perfect location.

My husband and I were there with six other people, and we couldn't have asked for more. The owners were very accommodating (even arranged for a private chef). There was wi-fi for those who can't tear themselves away from work, but the villa is really conducive to unwinding and relaxing. Aix is 10 minutes away. We found excellent restaurants in the area, which is full of things to see and do. All in all, a great place to stay.
