Memorable NOLA Experience

On a whim, we booked a trip to New Orleans and a week's stay at Jeff and Marie's "Oasis". We could not have had a more wonderful trip if we had planned it!
Jeff was an amazing host - greeted us when we arrived and took the time to provide insightful information and great advice about NOLA along with giving us maps and tour books.
The Oasis is a stone's throw (or short 15 minute walk) from all the wonderful sights and sounds of the French Quarter.
And the Oasis is such a beautiful and authentic place to stay - wonderful antique furniture, great four poster bed with a comfortable mattress, a kitchen that has all the necessities, more than adequate closet space for two people. The surrounding area is very quaint with a cobblestone path leading up to the Oasis. It is a very private, safe and quiet oasis in a great residential neighbourhood
During our week; we ambled through the French Quarter, strolled along Magazine Street, wandered through the unique tombs of Lafayette Cemetery No. 1; walked along St. Charles Avenue. We also used the local transit system and the street cars - so easy and so affordable.
Jeff and Marie's place was the focal point for our trip. We cannot say enough good things about it and how it served to create a most memorable experience for us in New Orleans. Would not hesitate to recommend it and we would definitely come back and stay here again.

Perfect!

I can only echo the wonderful things previously written.
It was a great experience from the first contact with Jeff and through out..
The property looks as it does in the pictures however the pictures do not do it justice! The ambiance is amazing! The rental immaculate. We had full privacy. A secluded oasis literally a hop - jump - and a skip from the French Quarter. We parked our car the night we arrived and did not move it until we departed. We walked everywhere, including to canal where $3 will get you a day of unlimited Street car riding up through to the Garden District and back. Getting on and off along the line as your interests dictate.
Great location, Fabulous rental.

What a pleasure!

Jeff greeted us the first night and gave us a lot of good locals areas to visit and eat. The home was very clean, fresh linens, fresh towels, drinks in the fridge, toiletries, maps, books, extra blankets, umbrella, privacy and more! Everything you would want to have to feel just right at home and just right for 2 people. Quiet neighborhood and the pictures were just like what we expected. Walking distance to the French Quarter and cab service was quick too! One day we went into Starbucks at a local hotel near the casino and I am so glad we stayed here than that bustling place, the hotel lobby reminded me of a NYC train station! We will definitely think of Jeff & Marie for our next trip to NOLA, what a delight! Thank you for being such wonderful hosts!
Restaurants that you must try:
Stanley - great breakfast/brunch, eggs benedict with softshell crab, can I have another?
Muriel's - $$-$$$ - brunch/lunch, pricey, but so worth it! Had the best shrimp and cauliflower soup (special), prosciutto cheese tart, and more
Lilly's Cafe - Vietnamese food in the Garden District - a must go, very fresh ingredients and authentic, staff is so nice! It was so good, we went there twice in 5 days
Honestly, we didn't have a bad meal, but the above were some highlights of the trip, can't wait to go back again!

Best place to stay in New Orleans

We arrived on Halloween and stayed 4 nights. ~ This place is the definition of best-kept-secret. I'd love to post how awful it was so nobody else would book it, (so it'd be open and available to us every time we visit New orleans), but the truth is that it was PERFECT.
It's a block off the French Quarter in a nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. You can walk everywhere. Owners Jeff & Marie could not have been more gracious or better hosts. I truly felt like a visiting family member and not just a hotel guest.
The property is secure and peaceful - a nice retreat from the at times over-the-top noise and hustle of Bourbon & Frenchman's Streets.
We paid much more for much less at the other places we've stayed.
We will be back again ... and again ... and again

A Home from Home

The Pool House was even better than we could hope for, it was clean. comfortable, well equip and beautiful. It is quiet and within walking distance to pretty much anywhere we wanted to go, which helped after a night out enjoying the city!
We arrived late on Monday night after a long journey from the UK and Jeff was there to meet us, and even though it was very late, he spent some time with us showing us where to go and the best places to enjoy during our stay. He even had some well received provisions waiting for us in the fridge.
New Orleans was amazing and staying here only served to enhance our enjoyment further. Jeff and Marie were always on hand if we needed anything at all and we enjoyed chatting with them when they were around.
I would fully recommend that anyone coming to New Orleans stay here as it was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be coming back.
Thank you Jeff and Marie, you made our holiday just that bit better!!

Prefect New Orleans Vacation Spot

This was the perfect location to enjoy New Orleans! Jeff met with us when we arrived and spent time going over maps and making suggestions which was much appreciated.
The pool house was just wonderful! Clean and quiet but close to everything; a truly "private oasis". We walked just about everywhere and never felt unsafe.
It was such a wonderful experience, we definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a New Orleans vacation spot.

Hidden gem in New Orleans

My husband and I went to New Orleans for several days in July and stayed at this wonderful property. Our host, Jeff, met us when we arrived and got us all settled in. He shared a map of the area with us and gave us advice on where to go and where to eat and shop. The pool apartment was the perfect size and quiet and the pool and gardens are absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this rental to anyone who wants a great place to stay during a visit to New Orleans.

Perfect Escape

My wife and I came to NOLA to celebrate her 50th birthday. This rental could not have been more perfect. Extremely comfortable, very clean, perfect amount of space, with the added bonus of a pool just outside your door. What was most amazing was how quiet it was. This place is only about 2 blocks out of the Quarter, but it feels like miles away...very quiet and peaceful. Walked to everywhere in the Quarter and to Frenchman Street (definitely try Three Muses). Jeff & Marie were terrific hosts, with lots of recommendations on food, music venues, etc. Highly recommend, and will not even look for anything different next time we head that way.

Truly a home away from home!!

Have you ever decided on a place to stay and realized when you arrived the pictures were from 20 years ago? This is not the case here! As a matter of fact the pictures while accurate do not reflect the privacy and quiet, relaxing atmosphere Jeff and Marie provide. It truly feels like home.
We plan on coming back next year for 2 weeks - but only if we can stay here again.

Private and quiet oasis indeed!!!

My husband and I had the most fabulous experience with our first Homeaway vacation rental. Jeff and Marie have a gem of a place. Our expectations were more than met. Their property is as gorgeous as the pictures show. From the moment we met them and were shown to our apartment we knew we had made a wonderful decision.
The apartment was spotless, and had all the amenities needed to make us feel at home. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and close enough for us to have walked to most places we wanted to go: the French Quarter, Frenchmen St., Armstrong Park, etc.
We can't wait to visit New Orleans again, and only if we can have the joy of staying at Jeff and Marie's lovely place!!!
