Great Apartment in Great Location

Slainte Cork, Ireland
Review Submitted: September 10, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Loved this apartment on our recent visit to Dublin. Fabulous decor, spotlessly clean, well equipped and a very convenient location. Great transport facilities with bus and Luas tram and not too expensive the odd night we got a taxi home. Approx 10 minutes from downtown Dublin. Great information pack provided and our queries were dealt with promptly and graciously. Would definitely recommend this apartment and hope we will return.

Sparkling clean, but too noisy for us

Highland8 Barrie, Ontario, Canada
Review Submitted: August 20, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
The apartment is newly renovated, spacious and very clean, as the website description states. What we did not realize is that it is on a very busy and noisy street. That you can adjust to, but the toddler running around in the apartment upstairs was too much at 6:30 am and all day long.
Grainne was a perfect host with email and tourist communications. Great location for getting around Dublin without a car. Parking is available (very tight space), but we appreciated being able to park on the property and not on the street.
Owner's Response: We appreciate your comments re; your recent stay, as it is constructive criticism such as this, that enables us to improve our apartment to provide a better level of comfort for our guests. We have engaged a contractor to sound proof the apartment to eliminate this problem and would like to thank you for bringing it to our attention.

My family and I very much enjoyed our recent stay in Tigh Tirconaill and would like to compliment Grainne most sincerely for the very high standard of accommodation and attention to detail she provides. The apartment itself is quite large with high ceilings and spacious rooms and is situated on the ground floor of a period house. We certainly were not tripping over each other even though there were 5 in our party. It is on a nice street with a row of red brick houses and lined with trees. The decor was superb and equal to any top hotel. It was spotlessly clean & comfortable and we really felt “at home” there. Enjoyed a morning stroll in the grounds of the Church next door and had a lovely walk by the canal one evening where the children had great fun feeding the swans.
The location was great with fantastic transport links to the town centre and Heuston station. We had the choice using Leo,(who provides an in house cab service), public busses which stop outside the door or the Luas which stops down the street. The bus took about 10 minutes to reach town and we visited Guinness Hops, ChristChurch Cathedral, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Dublin Castle. We enjoyed a couple of lovely days at the Phoenix Park ,and used the shuttle bus to visit Farmleigh House and Dublin Zoo which was a real treat for the children. Also Kilmainham Jail, a short walk from the apartment was very interesting and quite moving. The Museum of Modern Irish art across the road is a beautiful building and Temple Bar was lively and full of little restaurants and cafes.
I would highly recommend this apartment for anyone wishing to have a real vacation experience in Dublin city and we came away feeling that we had lived a little bit of life in Dublin. We will certainly return to Tigh Tirconaill again and will recommend it to any of our friends planning a trip to Dublin.

My friends and I were attending a show in Dublin recently and priced hotel accommodation for the night. As this was turning out quite expensive we decided to look at self catering accommodation instead. The BEST DECISION ever. We had a couple of days shopping and took in a show as well. We had our own personal taxi driver (which Grainne arranged), to drive us anywhere we wanted to go. he lives at the back of the house. We also got the bus (literally outside the front door) into town which only took 5/10mins. the apartment was elegant and spotlessly clean. champagne and a welcome pack awaited us on arrival. The decor was obviously professionaly done. I found it a very economical way to stay in town as the cost was shared out between us (it sleeps 5). furniture, including beds were all new and beds were dressed in lovely white crisp eygiptan cotton bedclothes. I totally recommend this to anyone thinking of overnighting it in Dublin and I intend to take a family break in this apartment during the summer. Thanks to Grainne and Tim for a wonderful experience. Dee

Tigh Triconnail Self Catering Apt.

This apartment was all that was advertised and more! We had a wonderful stay in the clean and roomy apartment with 2 adults, a young adult and a teenager. The location is close to the M50 for access to all of Ireland by car, and a quick walk to the luas for a ride into the heart of Dublin. The neighborhood was quaint with a few steps out the door to grocery store and butcher (who very kindly ordered us a turkey so we could celebrate our "American thanksgiving". Our welcome that Grainne provided including bread, butter, milk and tea as well as all the information about the apartment and surrounding was also very helpful. The Inn down the street provided delicious food for those nights we didnt want to cook in. We would recommend this apartment to anyone.

A welcome break in Dublin

Review Submitted: September 11, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
Lovely spacious apartment, tastefully decorated and fully equipped.
Excellent transport links and shops nearby.
Gráinne was very helpful in answering any queries.
Kilmainham Gaol and Drimnagh Castle were both recommended in the provided literature and are well worth a visit.
Although described as a quiet residential area, it should be pointed out that the apartment is in a house on a very busy road.
Apart from that we had an enjoyable time and are thankful to all concerned.

Our Dublin reunion

Review Submitted: August 21, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Myself and some old university frriends were looking for a place to stay for a reunion and sight seeing trip to Dublin. It was very last minute so we were very worried that being summer it would cost a fortune. However this apartment was ideal!
When we arrived from our various corners of the UK we were thrilled to find that Grainne had left us a guide to advise us about all the local transport routes and attractions including customer reviews on the local restaurants. It was really useful during our week.
Also she had considerately stocked the apartment with tea, coffee, milk, bread and butter and also a nice cold bottle of champagne. The apartment really was a home away from home!
Another selling point we found was Leo who lives just behind and is a local taxi driver. The book provided his number and he was kind enough to drive us anywhere, any time as well as providing taxi transfers to the airport (although we used the budget option of the air links).
Our stay could not have been more pleasant, we would certainly recommend the apartment to anyone who is looking for a great place to stay in south west Dublin as it is only 15 minutes by luas to town and there are many attractions within walking distance.
The apartment would suit either those looking for a budget holiday or those looking for a more relaxed holiday but a little distance from the night life in the town centre.

Great time in Dublin

Kerris London
Review Submitted: June 8, 2008 Date of Stay: May 2008
Not wishing to stay in a hotel we decided to rent a flat for our holiday in Ireland. We looked at Google and found Hoilday rentals picked Tigh Tirconaill and had a fantastic time in Dublin. Having never been to Dublin before we found the owners, Tim & Grainne could not have been more helpful. E-mails were answered immediately and very helpful advice was given. The flat was lovely, newly decorated, very clean and comfortable and was very close to the tram and the description was accurate regarding location, layout and amentities. The owners had made it very welcoming. We would recommend the Dublin Hop-On Hop Off bus tours as a great way to see the city.We would have no hesitation in recommending the flat to anyone wishing to visit Dublin. We had a fantastic visit and intend to visit Ireland again later this year.

WOW, This place is the BEST!

My 2 best friends and myself went to Dublin to celebrate our 50th Birthday's together. Choosing this apartment was a GREAT experience from the first email I sent to enquire about it. Grainne answered all my emails almost as fast as I could write them, and gave us wonderful ideas when planning our trip. She arranged for us to be fetched from the airport when we arrived. We were so taken back when the door was opened, each and every room was so beautifully decorated. We had a bottle of champagne waiting for us along with fresh bread and flowers. On the coffee table was a notebook full of information with everything from transportation(with the bus number), to local pubs. The location was perfect for us. We came and went at all times of day and night and always felt our apartment was secure. The luas (red line tram) was a 5 minute walk, we immediately bought a 7 days pass (was also good for the bus) and road the luas several times a day. That was our favorite way to travel. We had bought a train pass to travel to other areas of Ireland. The luas took us right to the train station. There were sights such as the Kilmainham Gaol that would have been close enough to walk to.
We had a Great Birthday celebration, thanks to Grainne for her details of the apartment, that turned out to be better than what we had even imagined.
Owner's Response: Thank you Teresa. I am so glad you enjoyed your trip to Ireland and that you were so pleased with our apartment. It was our pleasure to accommodate you and your friends.
